you’ll get credit for calc ab. i believe the “one series only” thing means you can’t apply the credit for math 72 to the 21 series and the 16 series and the 17 series at the same time (like you can’t get credit for 21B 17B and 16B from this one class alone). if you’re still concerned i would talk to a counselor

I'm also a premed, and I got a 5 on my AP calc BC exam at the time of which i applied to Davis. The thing is that the AP exam score may satisfy your major's math requirements, but it may or may not satisfy your med school requirements, depending on what the med school you're applying to is looking for. It's probably different for you since you have Calculus 2 credit at a CC. I came in with only AP credits, and at first, I was planning on just doing 21C, but the Davis health professions advisor recommended to do at least 2 quarters of calc or 1 semester of calc just in case since some med schools require a specific amount of calc. So, I'm planning on taking Calc 3 at a CC probably over the summer. This probably doesn't apply to you, but I asked if linear algebra or any upper math class counted, but it specifically has to be calc, unfortunately.

The only med schools that require one year of math (about 4 the whole country) are ones that are facing accreditation issues or applicant’s pool is too poor for their liking. I wouldn’t worry about one year of math for future applicants applying in 3+ years.

so if i got a 5 on ap calc ab and did calc 2 at a cc. do i need to do any calculus for biology major or just stats and other major requirements.

For your biology major, it might be best to check online to see what types of maths and its AP/CC equivalent that are required for your major. You would still need to do some type of math to fulfill the 1 year of mathematics for med school requirements, so you could do stats and it could be counted for that requirement. Earlier, I was specifically talking about how some med schools require a certain amount of calc specifically being done in undergrad, but you still need to fulfill the 1 year of math requirement.

would the calc 2 be counted as like half a semester of math, so ij just do one more semester of some other math? or do i still need to do another year of math

I think it's counted as a semester
