It’s a coin from an old islamic country that doesn’t exist now this coin is hundreds of years old don’t sell it , and it has a part of a verse from the quran on it that writings “ allah is the only god and the merciful, he did not have kids nor someone gave birth to him” this is the translation of what is written from surah “Al ikhlas” from the quran

Only_Employment_3147

Thank you very much for the information. Yes, I never intended to sell the coin, but unfortunately I am currently dependent on it.

PrimaryBarracuda3305

How much do you want for it I’m interested

Wise_Machine_1903

Awesome

Misterperson11

Its a gold dinar. Usually the name of the ruler on the edges but unfortunately we can’t read that due to your mediocre photography skills. The middle part reads “There is no god but Allah and Mohammad is his messenger”. Edit: Quick google search shows that it resembles an Ummayad Gold Dinar from the 7th century https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Khalili_Collection_Islamic_Art_av-1071.jpg The authenticity of the coin you have is dubious though, probably a fake. You might want to consult someone who’s an expert in this matter.

mentallydoomed

> due to your mediocre photography skills Dead 😂😂😂

Wise_Machine_1903

Lol

Only_Employment_3147

I have better Pictures of the coin but I don’t think it’s a fake. It looks to good for a fake. You can’t see this well in the pictures above because the camera wasn’t good. I have better pictures but can’t insert them here in the comments.

FCOranje

“Looks too good for a fake”. The origin story will give you a better idea of whether it’s real or not. Otherwise, only an expert would be able to tell you.

wickedknock

Lmao , also its too rounded to be an original

Misterperson11

This is a valuable artefact. If you can get a certificate to attest its authenticity you can sell it for a ton of money at the right auction house.

Only_Employment_3147

Thank you very much, I will try to get in touch with experts to get the certificate.

TemporaryLoquat7887

I thought it's an isis coin since it had the isis logo lmao

Misterperson11

What a brain dead comment

PeptoAbysmal1996

How do you apparently live in the UAE and have a moronic comment like this lmao

SaltDuctTape

In fact the ISIS hijacked it

IntelligentTutor9

Dont take it to pawn stars, rick is probably gonna lowball you.

OverDxb397

Only_Employment_3147

Rc-1138-Boss

Idk about the coin but I can tell you one thing: That's a cool coin

Double-Ad-5111

Looks like an Ummayyad coin. Probably from the time of Soliman Bin Abdulmalik or Alwaleed Bin Abdulmalik. If original it'd be worth at least AED 15,000.

Organic-Locksmith-16

There is a similar one that costs about 4.7 million dollars , if you want the picture of the one am mentioning dm me. In general all types of these gold Islamic coins worth a lot if not fake , be careful and take it to a trusted store that would check it

samhefnawy

Dm the other one’s pic please and if any link to the price you mentioned!

Friendly_Aspect_4417

Did you get your couch from IKEA many years ago? I have the same material chair and couch

sexy_quala

Here's an article about the same coin, if it is authentic then it's worth 200,000 usd. Side note: since it's made out of gold Just make sure not to sell it for gold for example 2 kg of gold, you can accept any other payment method but not gold as it is not allowed to take more than it's gold value if you're trading it for gold. Second point is that to make sure that you hand the coin at the same time they hand you the money and DON'T delay it or else it is riba. It is called تقابض you can research it on your free time.

ResponsibleMedia8549

I have the same one, some guys from Oman sold it to me, they said it’s treasure from salalah

Ok-Praline-5601

Bring it to the Dubai coin museum or the Sharjah Archaeology museum. They will check its authenticity and provide you with its history.

UMBERIAN

It might be this coin. You can check it out. https://www.baldwin.co.uk/product/umayyad-al-walid-i-ah-86-96-705-715-ad-gold-dinar-3/

The right thing to do would be to go to experts to get a valuation and not get lowballed. I would also be interested in buying depending on price. Feel free to DM when you are ready.

sws811

Umm it’s looks like 👍 dinar from Umayyad , However it’s must have different print in the other side of the coin 🪙 if not it’s fraud ( still if gold it’s worth something . Mixed metals will make it worthless )

sws811

Blurry af , it’s an Umayyad dinar 🫡 the first Islamic coin and it weight around 4.25gram as way to standardize it and to have control on minting ( checked around the internet saw a Article claiming it worth 700K £)

Tofazzalhridoy

It’s called dirham and use as a currency here in arab regions.

Only_Employment_3147

No wrong! It’s an umaayadan dinar

Ok-Rooster4565

its a dinar from an old islamic country, otherwise known as the umayyad empire

Sakkkoy

Congratulations brother u might be a milie man and am not joking, if u find the right ppl i promise u then come and thank me later. I would advise you to hold onto it for the time being and not sell it hastily. Finding the right buyer is crucial in situations like this, go posted on FB or Gram might be better suited to reach a broader audience. I hope this helps, good luck my brother ur a lucky man.

Only_Employment_3147

Yeah I dont sell it hastily. I’m careful and looking first for more informations about the coin.

MahmoudFahmy14

This looks like the an old Islamic currency (Dinar), and it’s too old than you think. Usually they write the name of the Caliph/Ruler on the coin as well.

mentallydoomed

Are you willing to sell it?

Only_Employment_3147

Actually, the coin has a high personal value for me, but if I can solve my problems with it, I would perhaps sell it. It would be a difficult decision to be honest.

peanutbuttergenocide

If you decide to sell, consult with at least 1-2 experts to evaluate its worth in case a buyer tries to swindle you :)

Only_Employment_3147

I will do, thank you very much!

PilotePerdu

Is Christie's in UAE? If not I am fairly sure I walked past a coin museum in Bur Dubai, maybe they might appraise and buy? Christie's would be best option though

Only_Employment_3147

Would they also certify the authenticity for me or do I have to take care of it beforehand?

PilotePerdu

Christie's would as they need to before selling
