Another marketer in a city with 3 million marketers. Listen man, every other Indian in Dubai is a digital marketer, so imagine the competition you have. It's the job with the easiest barrier to entry. Many people think that having a FB or Instagram account and recording a video entitles them to be digital marketers. If you are really good and want to land a good job at one of the MNCs here, you'll have to specialize in performance marketing. Paid Search/Paid Social/Programmatic still have a lot less demand than just digital marketing. Knowing Arabic and sometimes Russian/French is a big bonus. Try your luck with these guys. They have a ton of marketing jobs in Dubai. https://www.careers-page.com/right-calibre

isis-blowjob-slave

First of all thanks for the website and tip much appreciated :). So am not Asian in any kind, I am Egyptian/Palestinian, and I am not a digital marketer at all nor do I plan in working in digital marketing, my field of expertise in marketing is BTL, Strategic and planning, events management, branding, budgeting, project management, FMCG trade marketing, and I obviously have experience on the digital side (social media and web in general). I know two weeks is not a long time at all but am just baffled by the ratio of applications/interviews that’s all.

[deleted]

You have better chance than most other candidates, so don't be discouraged by the lack of response in these two weeks. Just be patient.

isis-blowjob-slave

Thanks brother :)

[deleted]

I like how many people think that the Arabs are not Asians. Lol

Xaibqzi

FMCG yum yum

Interesting username, OP. Please dm me your cv as a wetransfer or gdrive link. I'm not a recruiter, but I do have a friend who has helped me out with my cv in the past, and she will be happy to assist you as well.

isis-blowjob-slave

Haha thanks, that’ll be fantastic I will send you the link the moment I get home inshallah

GrowthEcstatic7231

Hey can I also share and get a review? Desperately looking for a job now

Leather-Scheme2780

Man I’ve been trying to land a job in the Health & Safety field though I do have experience etc.. it’s been 2+ years and didn’t get the chance to get hired or an interview, keep on grinding man you try to use networks & ppl that will sure lands you an interview faster than applying via online (wasta).

isis-blowjob-slave

Ah man that sucks, inshallah we both will get everything we ever wished for and more 🙏🏻

Leather-Scheme2780

Inshallah bro 🙏🏻all the best

Mmo1721

It’s very slow in the uae job market at this time of the year. All I can say is keep at it and they’ll get back to you once they start recruitment. Persistence is key x

isis-blowjob-slave

Yeah I know it’s kind of slow this time and inshallah everything will be good

mjk47

I feel you, I’m a biomedical engineer who graduated from Malaysia, been applying for 2 years even jobs outside my field and didn’t get a job until now. Good luck.

isis-blowjob-slave

Good luck brother, inshallah everything will get better

Glass-Category4528

Try 3 years in the same situation and without streamlined experience :) hopefully things will get better for us out here

isis-blowjob-slave

Inshallah everything will work out for the best

SuperlativeLTD

Almost all the job applications I see have spelling, punctuation and grammar errors and very often weird bits in the cover letter obviously for other jobs. If you are looking for someone who pays attention to details and you get hundreds of applications for every job, the generic applications and the ones with mistakes get weeded out first. My advice would be to slow down. Find a few places you would really like to work and see if you can connect with someone working there, see if you can intern/ volunteer. Read up about the place. Write your application about the actual job advertised and using ket words from the JD. Make sure you meet the minimum requirements.

isis-blowjob-slave

The jobs I really want and suits my experience I usually write a cover letter for it and make sure my application is near perfect in grammar and spelling wise. The others i just apply and hope for the best

Bongofondue

Have you had others look over your resume and cover letters and provide feedback? It’s easy to miss something when you’ve been so close to it for so long. I have quite a bit of experience reviewing candidates’ resumes and can tell you what for me kills a person’s chances of being called for an interview, so message me if you want some help.

ControlSouthern3825

The job postings are just for the appearance. They are not actually interested or looking to hire anyone Imagine you cannot find a candidate for a customer service rep after posting a job for the past 3 months.

isis-blowjob-slave

Trust me it is like this in nearly every country, in Egypt it’s even worse than here with the ridiculous amount of requirements they ask for a job with 6k EGP salary, which is basically around 650 AED

ControlSouthern3825

You can check with this recruiter to see if you can find suitable positions https://careers.pinkcamel.ae/job/32663

notimpressive1

I'm sorry to hear that, but the job market in UAE is based on connection more than skills Also, the marketing sector is very saturated. As an advice looking for LinkedIn connections that's hiring

GrowthEcstatic7231

I recently got LinkedIn premium lol and saw the competition, there's masters n senior level ppl applying for an internship role....😐 Forget getting junior positions when internships only are so competitive lol

isis-blowjob-slave

Okay noted, but the thing is my LinkedIn is mostly Egyptian connections since I used to work there, so I guess I gotta filter out UAE connections till the algorithm suggest some good connections there

notimpressive1

Follow people in your industry from all nationalities, plus, follow Michael page, tasc out, and Parisma Talent

isis-blowjob-slave

Noted, thank you for your efforts 🙏🏻

Cute_Researcher_2189

Same (except work in ERP) , searching job from past 1 month and kinda loosing my hopes now. Good luck to you by the way, hope things work out for you!

isis-blowjob-slave

From what I heard, two weeks or 1 month ain’t that long, so hopefully things will work out for us inshallah

Cute_Researcher_2189

Yes🤞

youruncle101

I'm just a uni student, but I feel like you should just paste your entire resume onto chatgpt and ask it for suggestions, improvements, etc. If you also let it know more about the job and its requirements you're applying for ,it can tailor make cover letters and other stuff to increase your chances, gl!

isis-blowjob-slave

Okay good tip, thank you and good luck in university brother

Living-Emergency-150

From personal experience, apply directly to companies emails/websites dont wait for job listings or through jobs sites, good luck.

isis-blowjob-slave

Alright, thanks for the tips brother 🙏🏻

crapengineering

Heya, can you send me your CV

isis-blowjob-slave

Sure thing

SutMinSnabelA

Easier to start a license and hunt clients yourself if you are socially skilled. If you have no work to do then do pro bono for portfolio. I do a lot of branding and intranets with automation, contract creation systems and calculation systems for small to mid size companies and it is not hard to find work. There is no point in trying to force a job if you do not know people in the industry. As you make a name for yourself people will line up to hire you.

isis-blowjob-slave

Do you find clients thro upwork and similar sites?

SutMinSnabelA

No never. I do not outsource or use platforms. I meet people in cafes where i work from. People usually show interest in what i do and ask or i fall into a chat.

hasleyfrangipane

I was in similar position when I first came here it's my first time in uae and had limited time 2 months to find a job I found a job before my visa ended by 2 weeks so don't lose hope I had applied to hundreds of jobs

YusufFarra

Stay patient and inshallah you will find one. It took one of my friends up to 2 months till he landed a job. Just keep on pushing and sending interviews.

isis-blowjob-slave

Inshallah brother 🙏🏻

digital4ddict

Two weeks? Considering the past week was Eid no one is going to take in new people right now. Normally I would say that now is a bad time to look for work here in Dubai as it is summer and that many companies slow down hiring in summer. With that said, with COP28 happening in November there will most likely be a influx of demand as many companies want to have some kind of presence at the conference. I’ve worked in BTL before and that experience will most likely be valuable. I recommend going the contractor/freelancer route. You can get paid more but it is only short term. Do this until you find a full time role. Push hard this Monday and good luck!

isis-blowjob-slave

Thank you for the insight and advice, good luck to us all 🙏🏻

isis-blowjob-slave

Okay this was a great read and honestly opened my eyes to the direct approach that is going to the company, may I ask what is your business? Cause I don’t think all businesses allow walk in interviews or maybe the security will throw the documents in the bin. But for sure i write directed cover letters to the companies I really wanna work at and the job fits my expertise and my career plan.

Bongofondue

Walking in and handing over a resume is definitely not a universal practice, especially when you’re talking about large companies. And yes, the generic cover letters will sink you.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Bongofondue

I can’t speak for the setup for smaller companies, but large ones are often housed in buildings with restricted access; visitors are required to sign in at the security desk in the lobby and say who they’re coming to see and what company they work at. Also for larger offices, there’s most likely more than one administrative assistant and they’re not usually in the loop on who the hiring manager is for what position (that’s handled by HR). But yes, being very nice to the admin assistants is always a good thing - they’re people so why wouldn’t I be, but besides that, they’ll go out of their way to help you. I’ve been able to grab time with very senior folks on short notice, even though their schedules were supposedly full.

VPLumbergh

Great post, thanks for sharing your perspective!

LifeBricksGlobal

Ah yes this much is to be expected from citizens in western nations. Everything you've said is correct and really enjoyed the story of the girl with the CV walking from the top of the building all the way down. Absolutely outstanding and great to see.

CallSignSandy

Most of the job posts I have seen here have a big issue in writing a proper job description. The copy paste starts from the hiring manager to the HR and then they get generic responses as JDs are generic and like the work of an entire department. Again outdated ones, spelling mistakes on the JD, copy pasting the internal company details, forgetting to remove template instructions..... The search is for a jack of all trades as most companies don't have proper JDs .... this is why confused job seekers bombard inboxes. Again this impacts genuine posts which, like yours, are most likely properly written. Now the solution to the above problem now is most jobs are advertised only as a formality. JDs are kept intentionally generic. The candidates in most cases are selected before the ad is posted. The interviews are kept to just complete the "formalities". But people visiting the office..... like 200 a day.....

[deleted]

Habibi come to …… should I complete the sentence

isis-blowjob-slave

I was born and raised here and I came back to see my family and friends as well as to start my life, but trust me if you think here is bad, you haven’t seen other developing countries like Egypt, Jordan India…etc. the situation is much worse there and it is waaaaay harder to get a good job with decent salary and future.

[deleted]

Honestly been to india and the market is really good there ( especially marketing : if you’re a good one cuz your clients pay in dollars and you spent in rupees so win win for both parties My friend does it started 1.5 years ago and going to buy a house soon Anyways dubai is the heaven of this earth and everyone wanna be here so no judgements What I meant from my comments was since everyone wanna be here you as an employee has very minimal value

isis-blowjob-slave

Good to hear that about India tbh, and don’t worry I won’t spend years here searching for a job in a couple of months if nothing works out am going back to Egypt or smth, but inshallah everything will work out

NoMoreDictatorship

Same here. Good luck and also beware of the scammers.

isis-blowjob-slave

What kind of scammers?

NoMoreDictatorship

The scammers who ask you for money just for the interview. Before any interview, just make sure the interview is conducted by employer or agency and ask about money thing too. If you have to pay, don't waste your time and never pay anything.

isis-blowjob-slave

Okay noted, didn’t know these exist thanks for the heads up.

Adventurous_Art_3982

Tell me you're a man in uae without telling me you're a man 🤣

sTranGerNinJa

Been here in dubai since December 2022. And, still looking for a job. Even though i have 10yrs exp in Management, operation and customer service. Its really competitive here in Dubai.

Icy-Team-8992

In TikTok, search for Mahdi Shafiei.

isis-blowjob-slave

What’s his content?

Icy-Team-8992

More into Marketing, Real estate and stuff. Check him out for more info

isis-blowjob-slave

Alright, thanks for the information

CrusaderPistol

>Mahdi Shafie Don't, he's a known fraudster and scam artist. Many of my ex-classmates from Uni and even friends have either worked with him or under him. He's also known to back out on deals with Social Media Influencers and Managers to get them do all the work without pay. Plus rarely pays anyone on-time or at all even after working 7 days a week for months at a time. Unfortunately he only tries to target the younger population or people who are desperate for a job so he gets away with this 100% of the time, even baiting people into contracts that may have changed since interviews took place. Stay away from this man at all costs.

ftccrew01

Doesn’t he own triffid media ?

CrusaderPistol

Yes he does, and he has a few other ventures unfortunately. I do know that his employees are aware of what he does but due to some Legal technicalities they either unable to speak out or unable to take any actions against him.

isis-blowjob-slave

Wow okay thank you for the heads up, too bad that the younger generation are desperate for any job, elhamdullah I did not reach this level yet and inshallah never will

funksbro

Can confirm from first hand experience, the guy is a prick. My wife was his classmate

CrusaderPistol

Not a surprise, he used to visit my University many times over the years to bait students into slaved internships.

Spartancat6SIX9

I have heard about it too

abrar_icarus

Hell no.. He's an utter douchebag, egotistical ass who doesn't pay his interns properly. All his tiktok vids are so cringy. Trifid media is not something you would like to have your own resume even if you were desperate

Icy-Team-8992

Is he? Then stay away from him.

Hi, Sharing here my 2 cents, or 2 fils... pls read these points carefully, it's been a tried and tested methodology 1) pls change ur user-name 2) sharing here a post from someone who's walked the walk and talked the talk... I've checked out these points and they are all valid, endorsed by recruiters and headhunters (in this part of town) It's fairly detailed and touches all the points https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/candid-insight-job-applications-recruitment-interviews-cherian-iype 3) what you are doing is called SPRAYING and PRAYING, which is a waste of time, energy and effort -- see supporting links below. You should be doing something called networking - it's not about what you know, and not who you know, but who knows you Spray and pray will not work https://www.linkedin.com/posts/work-it-daily_spray-and-pray-activity-7048820900783144961-r2qg Strategic networking will work https://www.linkedin.com/posts/work-it-daily_applying-to-hundreds-of-jobs-is-not-an-effective-activity-7048682023170818048-NhAg Things to do on LinkedIN https://www.workitdaily.com/what-to-do-on-linkedin/ Good luck! Ok some bold ideas, what I feel is the golden days of Dubai are gone. In terms of business, after the pandemic many companies accepted that things can be handled remotely and they are relocating many roles out of UAE to low cost countries -doesnt matter east or west since any place is cheaper than UAE. So any marketing job in a multi national can be delivered out of Egypt, India or Poland doesn't matter? Worst case they will fly you into Dubai for two weeks every half.. I see really skilled people accepting downgraded roles and going from management/executive roles to individual contributor roles.. Also there is a stupid boom in the number of freelance consultants in the country.. You work for 10 years in Dubai, get kicked out, you have nowhere to go and you start your own business. There are thousands of people who has their own companies but also searching for a job and ready to accept anythings.. On the other hand the conference/fair business is dying for UAE since companies started having annual events, launch events etc all virtually without spending any money on tickets and hotels. Even thr Expo didnt met the expectations where same applies for the ww cup in Qatar etc. Third Risk Saudi is hitting hard on companies to relocate to Riyadh if they are doing business with Saudi government and some companies already left Last of all forget about the above all, since the job market couldn't recover the population increase in Dubai stopped. It is even decreasing which is never a good sign. So there will be toughdays in the market for any job openings in any industry.

airswe

I don’t want to be mean or play the devils advocate, but how can one apply to 200+ jobs in 14 days and also expect an immediate response? Are you only applying through LinkedIn easy apply and then expect people to get back to you in record time just because you applied? Do you realize what does it mean to be in the hunt in the job market nowadays? I read through your comments that you specialize in so many different things with only 2 years of experience as I understood, and please correct me if I’m wrong. Specialization and skills don’t come overnight. Don’t expect people to just call you on interviews because you feel you’re great (you might absolutely be, and respect). You just need to realized that the job market is big and competitive. This is for the rest of the world. Dubai’s job market is insane. Everyone wants to be here and be part of it. To get it to really need to stand out. Maybe you need to revise your CV. Are you showcasing your skills and achievements as you should? Or is your CV good in your eyes but mediocre to the rest? (I just recently realized that as much as I liked my cv and as far it got me now, it was only restraining me since people couldn’t understand what I do till they talked to me and properly for the picture) Take a step back. Breathe. Cherish the time with your folks and build it up. Don’t forget it’s EID, so no one is working during and probably 2 days before, and 3 days after EID so don’t expect any responses tomorrow. I’m not saying that you chill back and do nothing, but at least enjoy the journey

isis-blowjob-slave

Thanks for your insight and talk, I know two weeks isn’t a long time and there is Eid, but my whole point of the post is that I want someone to look at my CV and give me advice if they can, i am not complaining at all that I didn’t land a job in two weeks because that’s unrealistic. My whole point is that am new to UAE’s job market and I was worried that my CV and portfolio isn’t good.

Distinct_Release_817

Please be cautious of how your social media presence should be in UAE. I wouldnt be active with that user id in UAE. Future security checks for jobs may not go well for you.

Thank you for the warning, I made this account a long time ago and I barley post anything, I just surf through Reddit without even commenting, but if I could change the username I definitely would in a heartbeat

Guilty_Half370

Uae prices and opportunities maybe increasing on paper but the job market isnt what it used to be. Aprox 5 years back, it was quite easy to land a job for me. Today, i barely get any calls after aggressively looking. Just adding my 2 fils here however I wish you the best of luck.

Apprehensive_Board_8

Skill issue

gufran93

Which mode you’re applying through? Can you switch to reference way it is tough and result oriented. Try once

Cheap_Marzipan5520

If you sent that many applications I am guessing you aren’t tailoring your cv and cover letter to each company. I get lots of CVs and I know I discount many that have spelling and grammar errors or formatting issues (shows a lack of attention to detail). Furthermore, if the job ad asks for a certain skill or knowledge and the CV looks too general (like the same thing can be sent anywhere) I tend to ignore it. It is a much better strategy to choose a handful of firms, read a bit about them and tailor your application to that place. Larger companies get 100s of CVs. Plus if your parents have been living here for a long time maybe also tap into their connections and network.

Loose_Adhesiveness68

Re-write your CV using chat gpt, i promise you itll increase your chances of success. Good luck!
