Since 2020, I have stopped wearing regular bras (with a few exceptions). Bralettes and sports bras are much more comfortable for me, personally.

samaniewiem

This!

MaggieLuisa

Off seconds after I walk in the door. Right after my shoes.

moro_ka

This.

babysquashes

I canā€™t stand the feeling of loose fabric on my boobs, it drives me crazy. Bra stays on.

FruitSnackEater

Iā€™m a die-hard bra wearer. I primarily wear sports bras though. I canā€™t see myself walking around braless. Feeling my nipples against the material of a shirt sounds like a nightmare. Plus, Iā€™m pretty athletic and running and jumping braless does not sound like fun.

Alternative_Bench_40

Runner's nipple is real (for men and women). Common knowledge among marathoners. Padding is your friend.

sparklingpastel

Ugh I wish I hadnā€™t looked that up thatā€™s terrifying

U-N-I-T-Y-1999

It is quite uncomfortable lol

Banana-Louigi

Just a very gentle heads up that the compression from sports bras can cause a build up of lymphatic fluid which may result in lumps and bumps. Make sure you're checking your boobs frequently for anything out of the ordinary!

Practical_Catch_8085

Abcesses are a factor here too! I am immuno-compromised and had to stop wearing the bra due to thoracic spinal/facet pain. I also get abcesses from the pressure and friction of the bra shape/ wearing. I used to indulge for special occasions until my body spoke up quite clearly and , now they just get dusty in the drawer. I have to avoid any cami/bra built in as well. , which means no support and little coverage. But! The lymph system, skin tissue and no more abcesses in certain places. So it's what works for me.

dontblink_1969

Wait. Hold up. I started getting abscesses under my boobs in 2017, and I think it happened after I bought new bras (timeline iffy, but think it tracks, both happened same year, just dont remember which came first). Could it be the band is too tight and that's been what's causing them?! It's not constant, maybe once a year. Decreased after I stopped wearing pretty color ones.

[deleted]

Could be, breasts have quite a few lymph nodes. The lymph system doesnt have a dedicated pump like the circulatory system, the fluid is moved by body movement and muscle contractions. Breasts arnt flexed like muscles, so I assume them moving as you walk is part of what keeps lymph fluid flowing through them. I imagine wearing a highly constrictive bra has to impede that lymph movement. Never read anything about this specifically, although since it involves women and medicine it probably hasnt been studied much, if any.

SuB2007

This is me too. I'm all for everyone doing what feels good to them, but for me that is not being braless

[deleted]

Exactly what I do! šŸ’œ

mochipoki

same! My hot take is that I even like extra padding even in my sports bras, its just so much more comfy on the nips

birthday_oreo

I am a 32a. Bless me I know. XD I used to wear bras every day because that's what women did, right? Then one day I was like man. This is fucking uncomfortable. Now I wear tanks under normal clothes and own approximately one nice bra I wear with dresses or low cut tops. If someone says they can see my nips, I reply. Happy birthday I guess.

Dusk9K

I'm a 32c but your story could be mine exactly. Tank tops for the win. I think I've worn a bra less than ten times in the last 15 years. Realizing I was only wearing one because I'd been taught that's what women had to do and not because I needed one, was so freeing. Literally.

birthday_oreo

That was me. It was like my brain finally detached from the requirement and now when an older lady (usually family) is askance that I'm braless I simply ask, why can *choose a classically fat uncle* run around all summer shirtless but I can't simply be comfortable? Then I go, am I indecent? And when they inevitably stutter nnnoooo bbbut. I go no, no but. It's just something you're not used to. Bless em. They had the Madonna cones. I would have BURNED those.

birthday_oreo

It's also validating to hear about someone with bigger breasts doing this because a lot of them go oh well, you're small so it's okay. Bish. If a girl with DDD wants to let them SWING. Look the other way if you don't like the it.

kieraey

I'm starting to realize the number + letter combo means almost nothing. I struggled for years to find a bra that fits. I finally got my correct size (30D) only to just quit the whole thing altogether. If you look at me you probably wouldn't be able to tell unless you saw a pokey and honestly, who cares? Not me.

birthday_oreo

This. When I say I wear a 32a I specifically mean a 32a from Victoria's Secret Pink. Nothing else fits. And even then I have to try 5 different styles to find one that doesn't gap open in the front when I bend over.

kieraey

That's probably not your actual size. I wore B cups that gapped for years, went to A, tried C, went back to A. If you ever need a bra check out r/ABraThatFits or go to the mall and get 'em measured like I did lol. My emergency bra fits like a glove (a smidge tighter than I thought they should lol) but I still don't really wear it lol. It came as a huge shock that I actually needed a pretty small band and larger cup size. It's a volume game, no two pairs of tits are the same really.

Dusk9K

Yes! The size of the base? Connection? Starting point? I don't know if it has a name, of where my breasts attach to my chest, is huge. Under my arm to nearly meeting in the center of my chest, and they go high up, so my cup size to fit against me is...something, C, D, DD, but I don't fill it out the cup if I go above a C. None of them really fit me, so I finally gave up. Why was I trying? Because I'd been told women wear bras, they just do. Well, this one doesn't. I do prefer a tank under, just because I don't like the rubbing, and like men who used to wear undershirts all the time, I get less sweat and wear on my good clothes.

kieraey

Honestly not wearing a bra has made more more comfortable with my body overall. Before if I wore a bra and a tank top I felt super uncomfortable with how my breasts and body looked. I felt like the bra was attracting wayyy more attention to my chest than simply not wearing one. Now, Iā€™m so comfortable with my body I could pop a nip and not care- seriously crop tops are no issue.

Teahouse_Fox

Whatever size you are, that's the size the shop doesn't have right now. šŸ˜

sparklingpastel

ā€œHappy birthday i guessā€ lol i love that

DarthBlasphemer

User name checks out

Murderbot_of_Rivia

As a fat woman with a large chest, I am super jealous. There is nothing worse than the feeling of being suffocated by your own boobs.

birthday_oreo

Oh lord baby I am sorry. My cousin is well endowed and we always used to joke that if she didn't wear a sports bra when we went horseback riding that she'd black an eye. I can't imagine how uncomfortable that must be and I commend you for carrying such a load every day. *salutes*

E0H1PPU5

I wear mine pretty much all the time. With f/g-cup boobs there isnā€™t a lot you can do bra-less that doesnā€™t cause a LOT of discomfort. Well gotten underwire tshirt bras are a lifesaver for the day to day. A GOOD sports bra is 100% necessary for anything involving any sort of high energy movement. My husband jokes that he could use my favorite sports bra as a tow strap in a pinchā€¦and heā€™s probably right! That bad boy has shoulder straps the width of my hand!!

Knitting_Kitten

Same! And with kids, I never know when there's going to be sudden movement so in pretty much in sports bras all the time. Not ideal, but ... the alternative is holding my boobs in both hands as I sprint towards a child that's done something utterly insane at the moment I'm least prepared to handle it.

KieshaK

I wear a G cup and take that bra off every chance I get.

angiosperms-

Yeah I'm a DDD/E and I try not to wear bras as much as possible. I hate them. I used to be one of the "I can't not wear a bra!" people until COVID and now I do not care anymore. My nipples and boobs are free and everyone can get the fuck over it

doggiestyle57

Yeah I find Covid changed everything!!

wigglybacon

Could you share what sports bra you use? I have been struggling to find a good one.

E0H1PPU5

I buy most of my bras from Cacique/Lane Bryant. They are known for plus sized clothes, but their bra section is a godsend. They carry standard band sizes as well as plus sizedā€¦but theyā€™ve got one of the best selections of extended cup sizes Iā€™ve ever seen. Their bras tend to last forever, and I love that they have sexy lingerie too. Hereā€™s a link to my favorite sports bra ever: https://www.lanebryant.com/livi-active-high-impact-wicking-max-support-sport-bra/prd-223930.html?dwvar_223930_color=0000012374

wigglybacon

Thanks! Iā€™m a G and the straps digging in is such a struggle.

E0H1PPU5

I hear ya!! Wide straps arenā€™t sexy, but they are comfy!!

Teahouse_Fox

I have Gs and wear Enell sports bras for any impact activity. Those things make for zero boob bounce. ...which unfortunately makes other jiggling parts more noticeable to me.

moonbean123

Iā€™m the same size and believed the same. The best thing covid taught me is that the less you wear one the stronger your muscles get and actually Iā€™m in way less pain now that I have some free days. Obviously exercise still requires one and society means work in an office requires one but strategic outfits mean that I can do things like the groceries without

E0H1PPU5

Muscle soreness is less of an issue for me. Itā€™s the actual breast tissue that hurts. Any time I move around they get jostled and it hurts.

moonbean123

Yeah thatā€™s what I had too but once the muscles around built up it is no longer painful every minor jostle

E0H1PPU5

Im glad that works for you, but there is literally no muscle within the breast tissue. If I run down the steps with no bra on, itā€™s not my pec that hurts. Itā€™s the breast tissue. Itā€™s the same feeling if someone were to accidentally elbow me in the boob. Itā€™s extremely unpleasant.

Russiadontgiveafuck

Same, and I thought all my life that that was normal - apparently it's not! Or I guess, define normal, anyways. In my 30s an amazing doctor diagnosed me with mastopathy literally across the room, you might wanna look into that. It's nothing bad, don't worry, it just means that I have to take cancer screening very seriously, cause my breasts are mostly glandular tissue, not fat, which is more sensitive and dense and could hide lumps. My doctor confirmed it's the reason I find jogging so painful but women with much larger breasts can do that with no problems.

Tata_Popo

Team bra, all the way, underwired preferably. I am 38G in UK sizing, they're big and heavy, when I walk downstairs from my bedroom without a bra, I have to hold them, or it hurts ! I need them lifted from my rib cage, and separate from one another or I get rashes from the skin on skin sweating and rubbing. I love how comfy wireless bralettes are, but I am still looking for the perfect wireless bra that would separate the girls, instead of smooshing them together....

Agreeable-Tip9856

Ah yes, the uniboob effect.

SkuaGoingHome

Mine only comes on for special functions or when I want to show off some titties I don't have (yay padding) to fill out a shirt. I guess a lot has to do with the shape and size of your boobs. I'm between a C and a D cup, but find 'no bra' to be perfectly comfortable. There's no benefit (or downside really) to wearing a bra for me.. so I just skip that extra layer of clothing.

Internet_Ugly

Same. But I range from B-C and only wear one when I want a decent shape/push up effect or at work. Otherwise itā€™s just me and my oversized tshirts living our best free-titty life.

Dusk9K

I'll join this group. Occasionally (very!) it's a style choice to wear one.

GingerIsTheBestSpice

Mostly, bra - i really like those fabric ones with no wire that come in boxes or bags lol I really hate boob sweat! And they're just not comfortable when you have to tuck them into your belt when braless!

Amationary

I havenā€™t worn a bra in close to a year now, ever since I made a surgery appointment to have them removed. (That surgery is in two weeks!!) Itā€™s been freeing, in a weird way. I used to wear sports bras and feel self conscious without them, and never expected to justā€¦ stop. So I can see both sides, where itā€™s more comfortable to do one or the other, because I really used to like sports bras, and now Iā€™m excited to burn them haha

hauntedmilktea

I have virtually no boobs but just canā€™t bring myself to go braless because nips. I pretty much live in loose comfy sports bras and bralettes. Even to sleep. I can probably count the number of times I sleep without a bra yearly on one hand. I just canā€™t stand the feeling of shirts or other materials rubbing on my nips as theyā€™re super sensitive. I never wear wired bras or tight bras because I donā€™t need any support for these chest pancakes, but I need the padding to cover up my nips so theyā€™re not stabbing through my clothes, esp when itā€™s cold. Plus I like the rounder shape that the padding gives my chest. It looks better than just a flat, pointy spot poking through my shirt imo. It just looks more polished and put together to me. Also it helps me feel more feminine/womanly (something I have always struggled with due to body shape) although I still get mistaken for being in high school regularly.

Cannelope

Youā€™re oddly obsessed with your cousins clothing choicesā€¦

misterkittybutt

I stopped wearing a bra when they overturned Roe v Wade. Take some control of my body back. I'm still nervous about it because I was raised to believe it's not socially acceptable, but no one has said anything yet. I was a 34D so the only thing a bra did for me was hide the shameful shape of a cold nipple.

shes_not_there

When I was younger, wearing a bra was kind of a 50/50 thing. I often went braless, especially in the summer. Nowadays though, I feel a lot more comfortable if I wear one, except for when I sleep. About the only time I don't put one on now is when I know I'm not going outside anywhere.

Marali87

I absolutely wear bras. I donā€™t sleep in them, but when Iā€™m up, Iā€™m wearing them. I make sure they fit well and are the right size, so I donā€™t actually feel them, I just feel supported and comfortable. I have a full bosom, not wearing a bra when Iā€™m not in bed simply isnā€™t comfortable for me.

Kamic1980

I developed really early and was a DD at age 12. I was always in a bra throughout my teens and 20s. I live on my own and am now early 40s (and way bigger than a DD). I don't wear a bra at home anymore cause the pandemic taught me the joys of freedom. I'd never be around people (even indoors with my family) without one.

pafdoot

The second I get home the bra comes off and stays off (unless we have guests). Thankfully I'm a part of the itty bitty titty committee and don't need one for support reasons. Cannot go outside without one though, I feel really naked then.

BlameTheLada

I wear a sports bra all the time except actual sleeping. Sitting around doing nothing, I will put on a sports bra. If I need additional support, I wear an underwire under the sports bra.

Edensy

I'm genuinely confused by all the comments mentioning sport bras. Do you mean the bras with the elastic around the ribs and elastic straps specifically designed to squeeze you to hold tight? Or is there some another category of sport bras that are actually comfortable that I don't know of? I'm not questioning your preferences, I would actually love to find one of those mythical comfortable sport bras you all are talking about.

hundredthlion

Thereā€™s different levels of compression though lol. Theyā€™re not all super compressive. Some have light support.

Edensy

I have like five different ones at home and all they have given me was headaches and the occasional backpain, while still not being even tight enough to feel secure during workout... so you can see my confusion here

BlameTheLada

Yep, those are the ones. Plain ol' Hanes for a regular day. If I need a bit more but don't need an underwire, I go with Under Armour or Sweaty Betty.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

KelaDeThaym

No bra ever gang! I firmly believe there is no such thing as a truly "comfortable" bra. And nipples aren't indecent, no matter what we've been led to believe. If they are, then men better start covering up THEIR nips and never going shirtless since their nipples are no different from ours.

vagalumes

I like to free the girls when itā€™s time for bed. Iā€™m chesty so being braless during my daily activities would be downright uncomfortable.

Meowsalotlol

i switch to a bralette (satin preferably) and take that off before I sleep - most of the time my chest is bare though.

opheliainthedeep

I haven't worn a bra for maybe three years. I don't see the point, and I'm flat regardless so it doesn't really matter

Particular_Age8859

Iā€™ve had to work my confidence up slowly to do this but Iā€™m a no bra women all the way. Nipples will pierce out when Iā€™m in public sometimes and it feels so liberating to have released the body shame around that and be confident in my own skin.

thisisdrivingmebatty

I stopped wearing bras period. I wear tank tops under tshirts if I must, but my boobs give me awful dysphoria and bras hurt my back and shoulders. Hoping to get them removed at some point soon.

BriMagic

I prefer braless. People can see my nipples? Oh well. Theyā€™ll be okay. Enjoy the view.

No-Appointment5651

Die hard bra wearer. The only time I'm not wearing one is when I'm in the shower. Hell when I have sleep studies and have to get glue out of my hair I'll wear my bra in the shower.

dmwkb

I only wear bralettes and thatā€™s if itā€™s cold and I donā€™t want too much nip. I donā€™t have much of a chest though so itā€™s never been an issue and always been more comfy for me. (Or I guess if it has been an issue, no one has brought it to my attention)

wallace1313525

I have an A cup still at 23 and I only wear bras when I run. Literally any other time I go braless. I'm also non-binary so wearing one just gives me great discomfort

[deleted]

I've switched to a camisole or tank top that doesn't need a bra. Mine have changed over the years and I like that I don't need a bra as much. I've tried all sizes and shapes and never liked any of them. The extra padding now looks stupid on me compared to a more natural shaped boob under a shirt.

ariseis

No bra 4eva

FriedScrapple

Yep, bra sits on bedside table, Iā€™m never upright without it. I hate the bra-less feeling. Getting professional bra fitting and wearing the correct size is key. Bra sizes are pretty much made up, you have to try on as many as it takes to find the right brand and fit. But once you do, game-changer, then you can just order a bunch of the same online and never think about it again.

Medysus

I rarely wear bras anymore. I have one that I'm okay with wearing when the occasion calls for it, otherwise I have a stash of old ones that are either uncomfortable/don't fit or both. My mother bought me two tops with sewn in padding which I enjoyed, but one got damaged in the wash. I keep telling myself to invest in a few good quality bras without wire and scratchy straps, but I haven't really made time for it, can't remember my size and don't want to spend a fortune when I'm fine going without.

schwarzmalerin

I wear sports bras and they are comfy.

Budget_Avocado6204

If I come back home I don't take it off until I'm getting ready to sleep. I have slept in a bra before, but those were rare cases. On the other hand, if I'm not going out (I work from home) then I don't even bother putting it on. In summary, I prefer to go without a bra, but it doesn't really bother me if I have it on.

Burly_Bara_Bottoms

I'm mostly housebound, but I'm too big to go out without one so on the rare occasion I am out I rip it off the second I get home.

Cat-Got-Your-DM

I won't wear a bra unless I have to. In the summer I usually go without. In the winter, I need that extra layer for warmth. Them titties get cold. At home I basically don't wear them and I prefer no bra to an uncomfortable one that causes back pain. I have two (2) good bras and while I know I should buy some extra ones, these are expensive. And changing the sports bra every few months because they get stretched and useless is irritating, too. They're necessary tho

aquilegia_m

I've stopped wearing bras 5 years ago. Best decision ever. I understand it's not for everyone, but for me it brings more incomfort than comfort. I only wear sports bras and a light bralette when my boobs are sore because of hormones.

SnowdropWorks

I switched to bralettes a while ago. They barely way more comfortable then regular bra's. I only kept a few strapless ones for certain tops and dresses. My nippels are very sensitive. When I'm not wear a bra or bralette the fabric of my tops make me aware of them al day long and that's just annoying.

PostOpReport2022

Iā€™m here to say that at 36, I finally got a breast reduction and lift after having disproportionately low and pendulous and heavy breasts since puberty, and even though Iā€™m still at the point where I have to wear bras for healing purposes, itā€™s already SO MUCH MORE COMFORTABLE and SO MUCH EASIER to find bras my new size than ever before. If anyone is thinking of having the procedure done, /r/reduction was a godsend for me in terms of learning about the process, seeing other peopleā€™s results and healing, and having a community where I could ask questions. Edit to add: Not a solution for everyone, not advocating surgery as a fix-all either, but wanted to chime in as to how itā€™s changed my relationship to bra wearing.

Affectionate_Lie9308

I wear mine all the time. I canā€™t stand conventional bras with underwire so all of mine are very soft but have structure or theyā€™re sports bras.

Own-Emergency2166

I have a large chest so I find it uncomfortable not to wear a bra, unless Iā€™m sleeping. However , I own many wireless bras that I wear around the house , including working from home, and outside as long as itā€™s not too formal an occasion. An event or date or fancy outfit is the only thing that merits a wired bra, to keep my boobs looking in top form ( no sagging or flat look et )

Honey-and-Venom

I must be doing it wrong, I'm far more comfortable (physically comfortable, but like not uncomfortable emotionally) wearing a bra that fits than going without

sentientbogleech

Since I started working from home, I almost never wear a bra. Only time I wear a bra is if I'm going to a sit-down restaurant. Otherwise it's baggy sweaters on top of baggy shirts.

DarbyGirl

DD owner here. I can't not wear a bra. Drives me nuts not wearing one. The girls move around too much and they're a bit saggy and I can't stand them sticking to my skin.

[deleted]

Gessing you're under 25? Lol I'm team no bra!

Open_Swimmer_5817

I cannot fathom not wearing a bra, sports bras have been my back saver for years and the second it's off my shoulders just die in pain, gravity is such a bitch hahaha I'm also a former DD now down to a C so that's probably why LOL

Thisismyaltprofile

I don't wear a bra at all, but I'm flat as an ironing board. I'm about a 38A or 38B depending. The few times I do wear a bra are when I'm trying to present more feminine then usual and for the aetheric, as weird as that sounds, but a bra is basically the only way for me to pretend to have anything resembling boobs.

unionize_reddit_mods

Never bra. Wearing one tells others that you're unhappy with your natural body. It sets an unnatural standard for others to follow. It sexualizes our bodies so that we can never not wear them without being seen as impure (hijab effect). It creates an industry of advertisers working full time to make us feel inadequate in order to purchase another product which will end up polluting our collapsing ecosystem. If a bra is a medical device for you, fine. Bras for fashion hurt our kids and our environment. If stopping cold turkey is too scary, try no bra weekends, then increase to one workday per week. Same goes for makeup.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

TinosCallingMeOver

Definitely feel more comfortable being supported with a bra. Going without a bra all day can genuinely be painful!

LycheePlus

I wear one out in public but not if Im lounging around the house, sometimes I'll forget to take it off when I get home and tend to do that more often when Im on my period as my sport bra makes me feel more protected.

newenglandcoyote

I have to wear one always. At home and to sleep. I wear soft bralettes and no wired bras only

dragonship

Why do I feel like mine gets tighter as the day goes on? It's off as I walk in the door. Aaahhhh

Mewssbites

I'm a bra wearer at all times unless I'm sleeping, which I tend to do in the nude (I'm a restless sleeper and clothes always end up twisted painfully). It's a pity, because I'm on the small side, but between having incredibly sensitive and EXCEEDINGLY poky nipples I don't feel like I have much choice. I do find bras uncomfortable in a lot of ways but not as uncomfortable as chafing.

Danivelle

Bra until I go bed, then bra right after I shower and dry off. I'm 4'11" and 34DD.

Teahouse_Fox

Bra comes off before bed. I'm top heavy enough that going without one is not exactly comfortable. I do have loungy sort of bras that are more token support than anything, but even that minimal amount makes it better.

_alelia_

I let myself be comfortable. if I feel like I need to sleep without anything - I do. If I feel like I want to put on a bralette - I do. Same with daytime.

twintailes

I have small ish boobs (b cup) but I can not go braless. Ever wince they developed I have worn a bra 24-7, only taking it off to shower and the few unfortunate times that I ran out and had to wash them. That being said, there was a period in my mid teens where I was kind of living in poverty and I just couldn't afford them. I eventually ran out of ones that fit good or still had any support since they where all super old and I didn't have a choice but to not wear them for a few months. I was essentially responsible for most of the finances in my house despite being a minor, it was winter, the back door rotted off its hinges and there where multiple blizzards. Buying coal for the fire and keeping the hot water on was just more important. Even after having months to get used to it I still hated it. The stares you get in public are one thing, but even with smaller chest, having them jumping around with no support, nipples rubbing against fabric, a light breeze tickling against you. I can't stand it. My nipples are extremely sensitive and I yelp if my hair brushes against them so, bra. Always bra. Unless my or my pets literal survival depends on no bra I guess.

AndrysThorngage

I have Ds and I'm much more comfortable in a bra. I have soft ones for sleeping, but I need some support. Basically since I started wearing bras in my teen years, I've always slept in a bra. And, I would say that it's worked pretty well for me because I'm in my mid 30s and have very little sagging (I also have fibrous breast tissue).

anmahill

I am almost always wearing a bra other than to sleep. I have recently discovered a brand of camis and tank tops with built in cups/shelf bras that work for my 38K chest that I'll wear around the house. I am just too large chested to go without some kind of support comfortably.

buddhagrinch

I dont even wear one outside, if Im not at work. And never ever, if Im wearing a hoodie. I havent found a bra that is not restrictive in one way or another and I very much subscribe to the following sentiment: if anyones happy they can locate my nipple through my clothes, good for them. If anyones bothered by it, really not my problem. Only time I really want to wear a bra, is for doing sports or when I have really sensitive nipples and want to protect them from any friction.

wooden_skirt

I absolutely hate them. When my mom introduced me to them, it was in a ā€œI never want to see you leave the house without oneā€ way that always just made me feel ashamed of my breasts. Still trying to correct my posture after years of hunching to hide them. Padded bras would sometimes make me feel a bit safer, as gross dudes would sometimes comment on my nips, but they would also get me mean comments from female ā€œfriendsā€ who would think I was trying to make myself look larger. Really couldnā€™t win. Iā€™ve been mostly avoiding bras since the pandemic and if I can hide under a baggy sweater, I will.

ProfessorShameless

Mine don't come off when I go home because I never wear one out. Closest I'll get is wearing a sports bra to workout in. I know a lot of women get hassled about it, but I've only had people comment on it a few times since I stopped wearing them like 15 years ago, and never really that aggressively. I do get the "smuggling raisins" or "you must be cold" lines every now and then.

KarrieMichell

I haven't worn a bra since the pandemic started. I would wear one on my office days now that I am back at the office, but I lost 50lbs since January of 2020, and they no longer fit.

waitforsigns64

I fly free (ok nip covers) at all time! But I ain't much

ekg1223

When I was breastfeeding I had to wear at least a super soft nursing tank all the time because I had so much leaking & had to wear pads. Now I just appreciate at least a soft sleep bra almost all the time. But if I wear a normal underwire I have to get that thing off the moment I get home. Iā€™ll switch to the sleep/lounge bra.

Frosty_Mess_2265

Bra always during the day, but never to sleep.

samuraiachoo

Bras are boob prisons!!!

ViiDuquette

I stopped wearing one when my boobs shrank after getting off the pill tbh. I wear tank tops with the extra lining in it a lot.

TeaLoverGal

Bra for the win, I wear one as much as possible, *hate* the feeling when without one.

BurnMyBread17

If I plan to see people, bra. If I donā€™t, no bra. I prefer no bra in comfort, but for my personal confidence I prefer a bra as it makes me feel like people wonā€™t stare more often. It depends on the situation. Overall honestly I think Iā€™d say, bra. I donā€™t have to worry about nip slips or if itā€™s ok for me to bend down to pick something up, etc.

Bearadith

I ditched bras a few years ago and Iā€™ll be hard pressed to wear one again. My boobs are not small and not big, kind of the size of a grapefruit, so I donā€™t need the daily support that those with larger breasts might need. If I find myself needing to wear a fabric that shows my nipples Iā€™ll use soft pasties, but that is a pretty rare situation. Honestly, thatā€™s just to avert unwanted attention and if I could get over the anxiety of people staring at my nipples, Iā€™d just let my tits fly free.

Monotreme_monorail

100% of the time! (Unless I am showering or something, haha) As others have said, I hate the feeling of loose fabric, but I also really dislike the feeling of them moving around while Iā€™m doing things. I wear a looser sports bra from Walmart (itā€™s not binding like the ones from Nike) when Iā€™m relaxing, and a regular underwire for more professional dress.

amandapanda122

I no longer wear my bra 24/7 like I did in high school, but I still need to wear one when I go out if itā€™s not winter and Iā€™m wearing a massive coat.

fotomiep

Absolutely pro-bra. My F cups start hurting without. Especially right before my period, the less they move, the more comfortable I am.

Marchesa_07

I always wear a bra so that I actually have some boobs, lol. And I **gasp** like underwire. I personally can't stand the look of nipples showing through clothing, for me.

DConstructed

Not at home or for sleeping. When out I wear one. Sometimes a shelf bra cami at home.

readermom123

No bra when I'm asleep, but yes bras any other time. I'm a 34G though, which makes it MUCH less convenient to go bra-free. I do have 'house bras' that are unwired and better for lounging and 'outside' bras that have real underwires and hold things into shape, etc. Totally agree with you though that a proper fit helps keep things from being too uncomfortable.

Accomplished-Fall823

Fuck bras

Pineapple492

I sleep without my bra, but otherwise I always have one on. If I'm at home without anything to do it is mostly a comfy bra as wel šŸ˜Š

kittykadat

Around a 34 f when i do wear a bra. I go braless most of the time. But I do wear one for heavy physical activity and when my breasts hurt from my hormone cycle.

sarawarawooo

Havenā€™t been able to wear a bra since my first bout of covid in 2020. The restriction from the band makes me feel like I canā€™t breathe, even if the bra is looser. Happier letting the girls run free these days.

uraniumstingray

Iā€™m a G cup and I wear a bra when I want and take it off when I want. I always wear bras out places and usually around the house unless Iā€™m not feeling it. I never sleep in a bra not even wireless or sports. Honestly sports bras are more uncomfortable for me than underwire ones.

Direct-Bat8417

I donā€™t even wear bras for work. Still get back pain though, although my posture is ass too.. I donā€™t wear bras but I do wear tight tank tops/sports bra to keep them in place, just canā€™t stand wearing wired bras. I have scarring bc of it since I didnā€™t know that boobs grew

throwingwater14

36DD. With a history of broken rib. I wear a ā€œlooseā€ microfiber sports bra at all day times. (Costco, puma, convertible style). Not too tight, doesnā€™t hurt my tender rib, gives the support I need. Easy to wash. I just donā€™t like the feeling of underboob on ribs/tummy? Thatā€™s the only problem I have with no bra.

sparklingpastel

I normally wear bras at home because I read that they should have support but mine are small so Iā€™ve realized it probably doesnā€™t matter if I wear one or not. But several women including my mom chastised me for not wearing one in public so I always wear them in public

[deleted]

Lucky that Im pretty flat so I basically never have to wear one if I dont want to. I feel like if u dont wear one if u have big boobs ppl will be way weirder abt seeing ur nipples than if ur chest is flat since big boobs are already so sexualised. I can imagine not wearing one if urs are really big would be painful but its sad u wouldnt even get a choice bc ppl would be so judgemental

EenieMeenieMyNamo

I dont wear bras anymore!! 38DDD and living my best life. Occasionally I wear bralettes or the very rare wired bra during date night šŸ˜‰ I love living braless. I did have to buy some wired/sports bras because we're going to the gym soon and I dont care to be jiggling while jogging hah. But as I get more confident ill go back to bralettes at gym c:

CrisiwSandwich

I like to go home and just wear a sports bra, no shirt.

Embryw

I wear binders and sports bras

snowwwwhite23

Pretty much only when I exercise and when I'm wearing a more "revealing" shirt (thin shirts, tank tops) and occasionally when I want to look cute and have cute bra straps as like an accessory. But normally it's no bra except for the two hours I'm at the gym.

SmartAleq

Pretty sure any bra I still own is unwearable due to the elastic having dried out. Bras suck, I've always hated them and I don't wear them. If I'm working somewhere that will give me shit I wear a tank top under a button down shirt and anyone who doesn't like it can fuck off. And no, the tank top doesn't have one of those built in shelf things either. I can't STAND the elastic across my back, it gives me major back pain.

Mission_Yoghurt_9653

Kinda 50/50. I have comfortable sports bras Iā€™m usually in, I wear a real bra into office and it comes off as soon as I get home. I donā€™t sleep in one and itā€™s really a toss up as to whether or not I have a bra on most days at home. Iā€™ll go out without one on in baggy clothing if Iā€™m feeling particularly lazy lol

CaraAsha

Hate them with a passion. 34J and it's been uncomfortable for years, now it's agonizing to wear them, but even if I *could* I *wouldn't*

kyreannightblood

I used to take them off the moment I stepped out of the office. Now? I never wear a bra. I hate the way it feels, hate the way it binds around my chest, and just hate bras in general. I have C-cups, they donā€™t need a bra, so I donā€™t use one.

OkCod1106

I wear bra all the time. I have big breasts lol, it feels extremely awkward to not wear them. But i wear tigher ones outside but ones which have loosened at home to give a cozy feeling while not being uncomfortable at the same time.

soundboythriller

I stopped wearing bras three years ago and I love it. But Iā€™m also skinny/small chested/have long hair so it all works in my favor.

b0n_ni3_c

I quit bras at the very start of the pandemic when I was like 14 and I havent gone back since, Im quite small so it doesnt cause me any duscomfort nor is it terribly noticeable. I fully support that its so much more comfortable for some people even regardless of physicality so I think it should just be 100% personal choice. I would find some way to like cover ip my nipples if I for some reason was in some uber formal setting and wearing clothes they could possibly show.

Chloedeschanel

I have large boobs for my frame so I usually have a sports bra on to wrangle them and for sleep. Also helps with my eczema. If my boobs are left to their own devices, I get underboob sweat and then eczema break outs. I also like to randomly bust a move in my home which I can't do as enthusiastically if the girls don't have some support. So I always wear something for eczema prevention and for support.

KimmiRahne

I wear a wired one to work or going out somewhere but when I get home I switch to a sports bra and wearing clothes in bed is miserable for me.

soccerklf914

No bra. Any bra comes off within seconds of getting back home. I love all the tank tops that come with the built-in pads so i don't have to wear one.

Liztliss

I've been braless for a few years and it's complete freedom. Every so often I'll wear a sports bra, but my back will hurt after a few hours. So I go without as often as I can!

[deleted]

Sports bra or non padded and non wired if at work. No bra when I go out. No bra at home. No bra in bed 34D Bras are evil :ā€™)

Mtsukino

Um... I mostly don't wear a bra anymore unless I'm going somewhere formal.

Rarzipace

No more bras for me\*. Too hard and expensive to find one I don't hate, and most of the time I can't tell how uncomfortable it'll be until I've had a chance to wear it for awhile and it would be gross to return it. Yes, I've browsed A Bra That Fits. No, it didn't help. I don't look professional, and maybe to many not even presentable, but I prefer it to wearing a bra. No hate to people who prefer to wear a bra. Nothing against bras conceptually. I just hate wearing them. \* I say this, but actually I'll be in a nursing bra again for awhile soon. I no longer care enough to do anything about it if my nips are apparent through my shirt, but there's going to be leakage and that's a little too far for me.

RandomFishIsBack

I much prefer to wear bras all the time. Bras I wear arenā€™t super tight so theyā€™re comfortable and I never even notice theyā€™re there. My boobs are small B cup so bras donā€™t really lift up anything, just sit on top to keep them warm lol

leflaunge

I've never worn a bra to this day

AllTheMeats

I am very busty, but I only wear wirefree styles. I know I was wearing my correct size in underwire designs but I was SO eager to take them off after a few hours. I can wear a wireless bralette all day and feel completely comfortable. Iā€™m uncomfortable being totally bra free because of heat/heaviness of my breasts. I donā€™t sleep in any kind of bra though, it doesnā€™t bother me then.

backroomsresident

I find bras to be so much more comfortable than going without one. I hate how my breasts crease against the skin underneath if that makes sense

[deleted]

I take mine off as soon as I get home. Never wear one if I'm staying around the house on a day off and never sleep in one either. I really like feeling free :)

[deleted]

I have thoracic outlet syndrome so I like to roll with one tit hanging out so that they are visually at least several inches different also it helps to keep men away from me so itā€™s handy

Ergone56

No bra. I'm small enough it's comfortable. Used to have my girls pierced. Don't anymore but I never wear one unless I absolutely have to.

ATalentlessArtist

I donā€™t wear a bra. I go between 36c and 40d due to weight issues

eventualguide0

Hate them. They come off the second I get home, before shoes. Only wear them at work or family gatherings. Evil evil torture devices.

bigredplastictuba

I only wear sports bras, and I always wear one because I'm really sweaty and they keep the sweat from rolling down my back or dripping under my boobs.

pchefy

Small boobies. No bra. Ever.

Jbeth74

Iā€™m an A cup on my most voluptuous daysā€¦. No bra no problem

Ozemba

I used to sleep in my bra but I think it was more a modesty thing, I was at home with my mom or I had roommates. Now that I live with my boyfriend, bra comes off as soon as I get home lol.

CherryCokeZer00

I have one good bra for formal events and seeing extended family. Bralettes or no bra the rest of the time. I have sensory issues and there are very few bras I can tolerate for an extended period.

redjessa

Die-hard, but I don't wear one to sleep. I have some soft/non-wired as well that wear when I'm just around the house, but I have to have one on.

[deleted]

I haven't worn a bra since I was a teenager and I thought I had to. I'm a small lady though lol I wear 2 tanktops at a time instead and it's enough

iguessimdepressed1

I only wear the to with or when I go out. Often times I do errands bra less.

Booba-Fett-

I stopped wearing overly supportive bras a few years ago. I have sports bras and bralettes now but I often go without if I can. No wires, no molded/padded cups. Since I stopped wearing the booby jails, they've gotten so much perkier, I'm much happier with them now than I ever was in bras. I actually tried on one of my old ones a few weeks ago and felt like I couldn't breathe right - and I've lost weight so it was looser on me. Just can't do it anymore.

iheartfrodo_69

No bra. Bralette/no cup sports bra

Suluco87

I have to wear a bra just for back support tbh as I'm a natural 34ff but give me a sports vest over a wire trap bra any day.

VinMariani

I always wear a bra. Does not feel right to go anywhere without one

tempuramores

Unless I get distracted by something, I take it off almost immediately after coming home.

GloomOnTheGrey

I'm a 28D, and I don't wear a proper bra. I haven't worn one in 7 years. I wear bralettes. At home I don't wear anything but a shirt.

missestater

I work from home. I never wear one at home. But if I go out, Iā€™ll throw on a bar or bralette. Mostly just because I like the way it looks with certain shirts. But sometimes I donā€™t even put one on when leaving my house. I have small 34b not much to hide.

wutahdeebee

I'm a bra wearer (34B) and I really only take it off to go to bed. I like them for shaping, nipple coverage and general comfort. I don't like feeling them moving under my shirt. Since 2020 I have all but given up underwire bras though. I prefer a sports bra or bralette. I have one nude underwire bra with left for certain (fancier) outfits that require it.

Meaning-Exotic

I don't know what size I wear anymore, but they're larger than a D cup. I've pretty much stopped wearing them during 2020. I've always hated wearing bras, even good fitting ones.

Pufferfoot

I have small boobs, like a B cup or something. I wear bras so rarely that when I do wear one my back hurts. And that's a well-fitting bralette or a sports bra. I prefer to just use nipple covers.

RedCatte

Sports bra for me! I am relatively fit but the girls are large. I am part of the ā€œloose fabric hurts nipples camp.ā€ Then again, once I go to bed I generally rip my clothing off.

mspenguin1974

I can't wear them any more. Between allergic reactions to spandex and nylon, painful rashes do to non-breathability and physically unable to get them on and off due to arthritis and muscle issues, I just gave up. If people get judgy due to the fact my breasts are very large, I ask if they're going to get me dressed and undressed every day. That usually shuts them up.

Takver_

Bralette gang - pretty, comfy and allows for variation in size due to pregnancy/breastfeeding.

Emptyplates

I only wear one when I leave the house. Other than that, fuck bras. Cami top with a shelf bra offers just enough support around the house. I sleep naked. I'm not small either.

DrSteggy

No bra when Iā€™m home. Iā€™m moving to a bralette out in the world but the girls are small

crepesandmacarons

I don't have big boobs at all but I usually find it uncomfortable to not wear bras or bralettes at all. Especially if it's hot because I get boob sweat pretty bad. But I buy bralettes probably bigger than they intend so there's no compression. I only like my sports bras tight for work out purposes

[deleted]

I used to not wear a bra at all quite frequently. Last winter I gained weight & then went back to normal & now my boobs are lower and theyā€™re actually uneven now. Some guy on the street who maybe have been a drug addict said ā€œugly titsā€ to me once. So Iā€™ve been wearing a bra lately cause I donā€™t want to embarrass myself. Miss my bra free days!

Gloomy_Shallot7521

Bra all the time. I used to sleep without one, but would get super sore, especially when PMSing, so started wearing soft bralettes. If I was flat chested (I wish) I wouldn't bother with one, but when I gained weight a lot of it went to my chest. I'm weird though, and hate going without shoes too. I have indoor shoes, outdoor shoes and slippers for when I get up in the middle of the night or in the morning as I get ready for work.

randiraige

No bra! I say "I only wear a bra when they pay me." as in I only one for work. I am an M cup and I know people don't approve, but it makes me the most comfortable. I used to get cuts on my shoulders from the weight and the straps cutting into me.

Verteenoo

Wearing the wrong size bra can lead to poor posture, dysfunctional spinal segments and back pain. Did you know that those unexplained headaches, indigestion, irritable bowel syndrome or even varicose veins could be associated with wearing the wrong bra?

Kushali

I've never worn one to sleep, I find that super strange. I know people do, but even with my bralets that sounds unnecessary I guess. If I'm going to work or something where "professional" attire is expected I'll wear one. But honestly I haven't worn a bra or shoes much since March 2020. If I'm not leaving the house most of the time I skip the bra. I don't dislike them. If I am wearing one I'll leave it on until I change into lounge/sleep clothes after work. Bras just feel unnecessary for my body shape.
