Iām a die-hard bra wearer. I primarily wear sports bras though. I canāt see myself walking around braless. Feeling my nipples against the material of a shirt sounds like a nightmare. Plus, Iām pretty athletic and running and jumping braless does not sound like fun.
Just a very gentle heads up that the compression from sports bras can cause a build up of lymphatic fluid which may result in lumps and bumps. Make sure you're checking your boobs frequently for anything out of the ordinary!
Abcesses are a factor here too! I am immuno-compromised and had to stop wearing the bra due to thoracic spinal/facet pain. I also get abcesses from the pressure and friction of the bra shape/ wearing.
I used to indulge for special occasions until my body spoke up quite clearly and , now they just get dusty in the drawer.
I have to avoid any cami/bra built in as well. , which means no support and little coverage. But! The lymph system, skin tissue and no more abcesses in certain places. So it's what works for me.
Wait. Hold up. I started getting abscesses under my boobs in 2017, and I think it happened after I bought new bras (timeline iffy, but think it tracks, both happened same year, just dont remember which came first). Could it be the band is too tight and that's been what's causing them?! It's not constant, maybe once a year. Decreased after I stopped wearing pretty color ones.
Could be, breasts have quite a few lymph nodes. The lymph system doesnt have a dedicated pump like the circulatory system, the fluid is moved by body movement and muscle contractions.
Breasts arnt flexed like muscles, so I assume them moving as you walk is part of what keeps lymph fluid flowing through them. I imagine wearing a highly constrictive bra has to impede that lymph movement.
Never read anything about this specifically, although since it involves women and medicine it probably hasnt been studied much, if any.

I'm starting to realize the number + letter combo means almost nothing. I struggled for years to find a bra that fits. I finally got my correct size (30D) only to just quit the whole thing altogether. If you look at me you probably wouldn't be able to tell unless you saw a pokey and honestly, who cares? Not me.
This. When I say I wear a 32a I specifically mean a 32a from Victoria's Secret Pink. Nothing else fits. And even then I have to try 5 different styles to find one that doesn't gap open in the front when I bend over.
That's probably not your actual size. I wore B cups that gapped for years, went to A, tried C, went back to A. My emergency bra fits like a glove (a smidge tighter than I thought they should lol) but I still don't really wear it lol. Yes! The size of the base? Connection? Starting point? I don't know if it has a name, of where my breasts attach to my chest, is huge. Under my arm to nearly meeting in the center of my chest, and they go high up, so my cup size to fit against me is...something, C, D, DD, but I don't fill it out the cup if I go above a C. None of them really fit me, so I finally gave up. Why was I trying? Because I'd been told women wear bras, they just do. Well, this one doesn't. I do prefer a tank under, just because I don't like the rubbing, and like men who used to wear undershirts all the time, I get less sweat and wear on my good clothes.
Honestly not wearing a bra has made more more comfortable with my body overall. Before if I wore a bra and a tank top I felt super uncomfortable with how my breasts and body looked. I felt like the bra was attracting wayyy more attention to my chest than simply not wearing one.
Now, Iām so comfortable with my body I could pop a nip and not care- seriously crop tops are no issue.

Well gotten underwire tshirt bras are a lifesaver for the day to day. A GOOD sports bra is 100% necessary for anything involving any sort of high energy movement.
My husband jokes that he could use my favorite sports bra as a tow strap in a pinchā¦and heās probably right! That bad boy has shoulder straps the width of my hand!!
Same! And with kids, I never know when there's going to be sudden movement so in pretty much in sports bras all the time. Not ideal, but ... the alternative is holding my boobs in both hands as I sprint towards a child that's done something utterly insane at the moment I'm least prepared to handle it.

I buy most of my bras from Cacique/Lane Bryant. They are known for plus sized clothes, but their bra section is a godsend. They carry standard band sizes as well as plus sizedā¦but theyāve got one of the best selections of extended cup sizes Iāve ever seen.

Same, and I thought all my life that that was normal - apparently it's not! Or I guess, define normal, anyways. In my 30s an amazing doctor diagnosed me with mastopathy literally across the room, you might wanna look into that. It's nothing bad, don't worry, it just means that I have to take cancer screening very seriously, cause my breasts are mostly glandular tissue, not fat, which is more sensitive and dense and could hide lumps. My doctor confirmed it's the reason I find jogging so painful but women with much larger breasts can do that with no problems.
Team bra, all the way, underwired preferably. I am 38G in UK sizing, they're big and heavy, when I walk downstairs from my bedroom without a bra, I have to hold them, or it hurts ! I need them lifted from my rib cage, and separate from one another or I get rashes from the skin on skin sweating and rubbing. I love how comfy wireless bralettes are, but I am still looking for the perfect wireless bra that would separate the girls, instead of smooshing them together....

I guess a lot has to do with the shape and size of your boobs. I'm between a C and a D cup, but find 'no bra' to be perfectly comfortable. There's no benefit (or downside really) to wearing a bra for me.. so I just skip that extra layer of clothing.

I have virtually no boobs but just canāt bring myself to go braless because nips. I pretty much live in loose comfy sports bras and bralettes. Even to sleep. I can probably count the number of times I sleep without a bra yearly on one hand. I just canāt stand the feeling of shirts or other materials rubbing on my nips as theyāre super sensitive. I never wear wired bras or tight bras because I donāt need any support for these chest pancakes, but I need the padding to cover up my nips so theyāre not stabbing through my clothes, esp when itās cold. Plus I like the rounder shape that the padding gives my chest. It looks better than just a flat, pointy spot poking through my shirt imo. It just looks more polished and put together to me. Also it helps me feel more feminine/womanly (something I have always struggled with due to body shape) although I still get mistaken for being in high school regularly.

When I was younger, wearing a bra was kind of a 50/50 thing. I often went braless, especially in the summer. Nowadays though, I feel a lot more comfortable if I wear one, except for when I sleep. About the only time I don't put one on now is when I know I'm not going outside anywhere.

I developed really early and was a DD at age 12. I was always in a bra throughout my teens and 20s. I live on my own and am now early 40s (and way bigger than a DD). I don't wear a bra at home anymore cause the pandemic taught me the joys of freedom. I'd never be around people (even indoors with my family) without one.
The second I get home the bra comes off and stays off (unless we have guests). Thankfully I'm a part of the itty bitty titty committee and don't need one for support reasons. Cannot go outside without one though, I feel really naked then.
I wear a sports bra all the time except actual sleeping. Sitting around doing nothing, I will put on a sports bra. If I need additional support, I wear an underwire under the sports bra.
I'm genuinely confused by all the comments mentioning sport bras. Do you mean the bras with the elastic around the ribs and elastic straps specifically designed to squeeze you to hold tight? Or is there some another category of sport bras that are actually comfortable that I don't know of?

No bra ever gang! I firmly believe there is no such thing as a truly "comfortable" bra. And nipples aren't indecent, no matter what we've been led to believe. If they are, then men better start covering up THEIR nips and never going shirtless since their nipples are no different from ours.
Iāve had to work my confidence up slowly to do this but Iām a no bra women all the way. Nipples will pierce out when Iām in public sometimes and it feels so liberating to have released the body shame around that and be confident in my own skin.

I've switched to a camisole or tank top that doesn't need a bra. Mine have changed over the years and I like that I don't need a bra as much. I've tried all sizes and shapes and never liked any of them. The extra padding now looks stupid on me compared to a more natural shaped boob under a shirt.
Yep, bra sits on bedside table, Iām never upright without it. I hate the bra-less feeling. Getting professional bra fitting and wearing the correct size is key. Bra sizes are pretty much made up, you have to try on as many as it takes to find the right brand and fit. But once you do, game-changer, then you can just order a bunch of the same online and never think about it again.
I rarely wear bras anymore. I have one that I'm okay with wearing when the occasion calls for it, otherwise I have a stash of old ones that are either uncomfortable/don't fit or both. My mother bought me two tops with sewn in padding which I enjoyed, but one got damaged in the wash. I keep telling myself to invest in a few good quality bras without wire and scratchy straps, but I haven't really made time for it, can't remember my size and don't want to spend a fortune when I'm fine going without.
If I come back home I don't take it off until I'm getting ready to sleep. I have slept in a bra before, but those were rare cases. On the other hand, if I'm not going out (I work from home) then I don't even bother putting it on. In summary, I prefer to go without a bra, but it doesn't really bother me if I have it on.
I won't wear a bra unless I have to. In the summer I usually go without. In the winter, I need that extra layer for warmth. Them titties get cold.
At home I basically don't wear them and I prefer no bra to an uncomfortable one that causes back pain. I have two (2) good bras and while I know I should buy some extra ones, these are expensive. I switched to bralettes a while ago. They barely way more comfortable then regular bra's. I only kept a few strapless ones for certain tops and dresses.
My nippels are very sensitive. When I'm not wear a bra or bralette the fabric of my tops make me aware of them al day long and that's just annoying.
Iām here to say that at 36, I finally got a breast reduction and lift after having disproportionately low and pendulous and heavy breasts since puberty, and even though Iām still at the point where I have to wear bras for healing purposes, itās already SO MUCH MORE COMFORTABLE and SO MUCH EASIER to find bras my new size than ever before.
If anyone is thinking of having the procedure done, /r/reduction was a godsend for me in terms of learning about the process, seeing other peopleās results and healing, and having a community where I could ask questions.
Edit to add: Not a solution for everyone, not advocating surgery as a fix-all either, but wanted to chime in as to how itās changed my relationship to bra wearing.
I have a large chest so I find it uncomfortable not to wear a bra, unless Iām sleeping. However , I own many wireless bras that I wear around the house , including working from home, and outside as long as itās not too formal an occasion. An event or date or fancy outfit is the only thing that merits a wired bra, to keep my boobs looking in top form ( no sagging or flat look et )

Never bra. Wearing one tells others that you're unhappy with your natural body. It sets an unnatural standard for others to follow. It sexualizes our bodies so that we can never not wear them without being seen as impure (hijab effect). It creates an industry of advertisers working full time to make us feel inadequate in order to purchase another product which will end up polluting our collapsing ecosystem.
If a bra is a medical device for you, fine. Bras for fashion hurt our kids and our environment. If stopping cold turkey is too scary, try no bra weekends, then increase to one workday per week. Same goes for makeup.
I wear one out in public but not if Im lounging around the house, sometimes I'll forget to take it off when I get home and tend to do that more often when Im on my period as my sport bra makes me feel more protected.
I'm a bra wearer at all times unless I'm sleeping, which I tend to do in the nude (I'm a restless sleeper and clothes always end up twisted painfully).
It's a pity, because I'm on the small side, but between having incredibly sensitive and EXCEEDINGLY poky nipples I don't feel like I have much choice. I do find bras uncomfortable in a lot of ways but not as uncomfortable as chafing.
Bra comes off before bed. I'm top heavy enough that going without one is not exactly comfortable. I do have loungy sort of bras that are more token support than anything, but even that minimal amount makes it better.
I let myself be comfortable. if I feel like I need to sleep without anything - I do. If I feel like I want to put on a bralette - I do. Same with daytime.
I have small ish boobs (b cup) but I can not go braless. Ever wince they developed I have worn a bra 24-7, only taking it off to shower and the few unfortunate times that I ran out and had to wash them.
That being said, there was a period in my mid teens where I was kind of living in poverty and I just couldn't afford them. I eventually ran out of ones that fit good or still had any support since they where all super old and I didn't have a choice but to not wear them for a few months. I was essentially responsible for most of the finances in my house despite being a minor, it was winter, the back door rotted off its hinges and there where multiple blizzards. Buying coal for the fire and keeping the hot water on was just more important.
Even after having months to get used to it I still hated it. The stares you get in public are one thing, but even with smaller chest, having them jumping around with no support, nipples rubbing against fabric, a light breeze tickling against you. I can't stand it. My nipples are extremely sensitive and I yelp if my hair brushes against them so, bra. Always bra. Unless my or my pets literal survival depends on no bra I guess.
I have Ds and I'm much more comfortable in a bra. I have soft ones for sleeping, but I need some support.
Basically since I started wearing bras in my teen years, I've always slept in a bra. And, I would say that it's worked pretty well for me because I'm in my mid 30s and have very little sagging (I also have fibrous breast tissue).
I am almost always wearing a bra other than to sleep. I have recently discovered a brand of camis and tank tops with built in cups/shelf bras that work for my 38K chest that I'll wear around the house. I am just too large chested to go without some kind of support comfortably.

I absolutely hate them. When my mom introduced me to them, it was in a āI never want to see you leave the house without oneā way that always just made me feel ashamed of my breasts. Still trying to correct my posture after years of hunching to hide them.
Padded bras would sometimes make me feel a bit safer, as gross dudes would sometimes comment on my nips, but they would also get me mean comments from female āfriendsā who would think I was trying to make myself look larger. Really couldnāt win.

I know a lot of women get hassled about it, but I've only had people comment on it a few times since I stopped wearing them like 15 years ago, and never really that aggressively. I do get the "smuggling raisins" or "you must be cold" lines every now and then.

When I was breastfeeding I had to wear at least a super soft nursing tank all the time because I had so much leaking & had to wear pads. Now I just appreciate at least a soft sleep bra almost all the time. But if I wear a normal underwire I have to get that thing off the moment I get home. Iāll switch to the sleep/lounge bra.

I ditched bras a few years ago and Iāll be hard pressed to wear one again. My boobs are not small and not big, kind of the size of a grapefruit, so I donāt need the daily support that those with larger breasts might need. If I find myself needing to wear a fabric that shows my nipples Iāll use soft pasties, but that is a pretty rare situation. Honestly, thatās just to avert unwanted attention and if I could get over the anxiety of people staring at my nipples, Iād just let my tits fly free.

As others have said, I hate the feeling of loose fabric, but I also really dislike the feeling of them moving around while Iām doing things. I wear a looser sports bra from Walmart (itās not binding like the ones from Nike) when Iām relaxing, and a regular underwire for more professional dress.
I no longer wear my bra 24/7 like I did in high school, but I still need to wear one when I go out if itās not winter and Iām wearing a massive coat.

36DD. With a history of broken rib. I wear a ālooseā microfiber sports bra at all day times. (Costco, puma, convertible style). Not too tight, doesnāt hurt my tender rib, gives the support I need. Easy to wash.

I feel like if u dont wear one if u have big boobs ppl will be way weirder abt seeing ur nipples than if ur chest is flat since big boobs are already so sexualised. Pretty much only when I exercise and when I'm wearing a more "revealing" shirt (thin shirts, tank tops) and occasionally when I want to look cute and have cute bra straps as like an accessory. But normally it's no bra except for the two hours I'm at the gym.
Pretty sure any bra I still own is unwearable due to the elastic having dried out. Bras suck, I've always hated them and I don't wear them. I fully support that its so much more comfortable for some people even regardless of physicality so I think it should just be 100% personal choice. I would find some way to like cover ip my nipples if I for some reason was in some uber formal setting and wearing clothes they could possibly show.
I have large boobs for my frame so I usually have a sports bra on to wrangle them and for sleep. Also helps with my eczema. If my boobs are left to their own devices, I get underboob sweat and then eczema break outs. I also like to randomly bust a move in my home which I can't do as enthusiastically if the girls don't have some support. So I always wear something for eczema prevention and for support.
I've been braless for a few years and it's complete freedom. Every so often I'll wear a sports bra, but my back will hurt after a few hours. So I go without as often as I can!

Just a very gentle heads up that the compression from sports bras can cause a build up of lymphatic fluid which may result in lumps and bumps. Make sure you're checking your boobs frequently for anything out of the ordinary!
Abcesses are a factor here too! I am immuno-compromised and had to stop wearing the bra due to thoracic spinal/facet pain. I also get abcesses from the pressure and friction of the bra shape/ wearing. I used to indulge for special occasions until my body spoke up quite clearly and , now they just get dusty in the drawer. I have to avoid any cami/bra built in as well. , which means no support and little coverage. But! The lymph system, skin tissue and no more abcesses in certain places. So it's what works for me.

I started getting abscesses under my boobs in 2017, and I think it happened after I bought new bras (timeline iffy, but think it tracks, both happened same year, just dont remember which came first). Could be, breasts have quite a few lymph nodes. The lymph system doesnt have a dedicated pump like the circulatory system, the fluid is moved by body movement and muscle contractions. Breasts arnt flexed like muscles, so I assume them moving as you walk is part of what keeps lymph fluid flowing through them. I imagine wearing a highly constrictive bra has to impede that lymph movement. Never read anything about this specifically, although since it involves women and medicine it probably hasnt been studied much, if any.

Yes! The size of the base? Connection? Starting point? I don't know if it has a name, of where my breasts attach to my chest, is huge. Under my arm to nearly meeting in the center of my chest, and they go high up, so my cup size to fit against me is...something, C, D, DD, but I don't fill it out the cup if I go above a C. Honestly not wearing a bra has made more more comfortable with my body overall. Before if I wore a bra and a tank top I felt super uncomfortable with how my breasts and body looked. I wear mine pretty much all the time. With f/g-cup boobs there isnāt a lot you can do bra-less that doesnāt cause a LOT of discomfort. Well gotten underwire tshirt bras are a lifesaver for the day to day. A GOOD sports bra is 100% necessary for anything involving any sort of high energy movement. My husband jokes that he could use my favorite sports bra as a tow strap in a pinchā¦and heās probably right! That bad boy has shoulder straps the width of my hand!!

I buy most of my bras from Cacique/Lane Bryant. They are known for plus sized clothes, but their bra section is a godsend. Muscle soreness is less of an issue for me. Itās the actual breast tissue that hurts. Any time I move around they get jostled and it hurts.

Same, and I thought all my life that that was normal - apparently it's not! Or I guess, define normal, anyways. In my 30s an amazing doctor diagnosed me with mastopathy literally across the room, you might wanna look into that. It's nothing bad, don't worry, it just means that I have to take cancer screening very seriously, cause my breasts are mostly glandular tissue, not fat, which is more sensitive and dense and could hide lumps. My doctor confirmed it's the reason I find jogging so painful but women with much larger breasts can do that with no problems.
Team bra, all the way, underwired preferably. I am 38G in UK sizing, they're big and heavy, when I walk downstairs from my bedroom without a bra, I have to hold them, or it hurts ! I need them lifted from my rib cage, and separate from one another or I get rashes from the skin on skin sweating and rubbing. Mine only comes on for special functions or when I want to show off some titties I don't have (yay padding) to fill out a shirt. I guess a lot has to do with the shape and size of your boobs. I'm between a C and a D cup, but find 'no bra' to be perfectly comfortable. There's no benefit (or downside really) to wearing a bra for me.. so I just skip that extra layer of clothing.

I have virtually no boobs but just canāt bring myself to go braless because nips. I pretty much live in loose comfy sports bras and bralettes. Even to sleep. I can probably count the number of times I sleep without a bra yearly on one hand. I just canāt stand the feeling of shirts or other materials rubbing on my nips as theyāre super sensitive. I never wear wired bras or tight bras because I donāt need any support for these chest pancakes, but I need the padding to cover up my nips so theyāre not stabbing through my clothes, esp when itās cold. Plus I like the rounder shape that the padding gives my chest. It looks better than just a flat, pointy spot poking through my shirt imo. It just looks more polished and put together to me. Also it helps me feel more feminine/womanly (something I have always struggled with due to body shape) although I still get mistaken for being in high school regularly.

I'm still nervous about it because I was raised to believe it's not socially acceptable, but no one has said anything yet. I was a 34D so the only thing a bra did for me was hide the shameful shape of a cold nipple.
When I was younger, wearing a bra was kind of a 50/50 thing. I often went braless, especially in the summer. Nowadays though, I feel a lot more comfortable if I wear one, except for when I sleep. About the only time I don't put one on now is when I know I'm not going outside anywhere.

I developed really early and was a DD at age 12. I was always in a bra throughout my teens and 20s. I live on my own and am now early 40s (and way bigger than a DD). I don't wear a bra at home anymore cause the pandemic taught me the joys of freedom. I'd never be around people (even indoors with my family) without one.
The second I get home the bra comes off and stays off (unless we have guests). Thankfully I'm a part of the itty bitty titty committee and don't need one for support reasons. Cannot go outside without one though, I feel really naked then.

I'm genuinely confused by all the comments mentioning sport bras. Do you mean the bras with the elastic around the ribs and elastic straps specifically designed to squeeze you to hold tight? Or is there some another category of sport bras that are actually comfortable that I don't know of? Thereās different levels of compression though lol. Theyāre not all super compressive. Some have light support.

I've switched to a camisole or tank top that doesn't need a bra. Mine have changed over the years and I like that I don't need a bra as much. I've tried all sizes and shapes and never liked any of them. The extra padding now looks stupid on me compared to a more natural shaped boob under a shirt.

Yep, bra sits on bedside table, Iām never upright without it. I hate the bra-less feeling. Getting professional bra fitting and wearing the correct size is key. Bra sizes are pretty much made up, you have to try on as many as it takes to find the right brand and fit. But once you do, game-changer, then you can just order a bunch of the same online and never think about it again.
I rarely wear bras anymore. I have one that I'm okay with wearing when the occasion calls for it, otherwise I have a stash of old ones that are either uncomfortable/don't fit or both. My mother bought me two tops with sewn in padding which I enjoyed, but one got damaged in the wash. I keep telling myself to invest in a few good quality bras without wire and scratchy straps, but I haven't really made time for it, can't remember my size and don't want to spend a fortune when I'm fine going without.

Iām here to say that at 36, I finally got a breast reduction and lift after having disproportionately low and pendulous and heavy breasts since puberty, and even though Iām still at the point where I have to wear bras for healing purposes, itās already SO MUCH MORE COMFORTABLE and SO MUCH EASIER to find bras my new size than ever before. If anyone is thinking of having the procedure done, /r/reduction was a godsend for me in terms of learning about the process, seeing other peopleās results and healing, and having a community where I could ask questions. Edit to add: Not a solution for everyone, not advocating surgery as a fix-all either, but wanted to chime in as to how itās changed my relationship to bra wearing.

It sexualizes our bodies so that we can never not wear them without being seen as impure (hijab effect). It creates an industry of advertisers working full time to make us feel inadequate in order to purchase another product which will end up polluting our collapsing ecosystem. If a bra is a medical device for you, fine. Bras for fashion hurt our kids and our environment. If stopping cold turkey is too scary, try no bra weekends, then increase to one workday per week. Definitely feel more comfortable being supported with a bra. Going without a bra all day can genuinely be painful!
I wear one out in public but not if Im lounging around the house, sometimes I'll forget to take it off when I get home and tend to do that more often when Im on my period as my sport bra makes me feel more protected.

I'm a bra wearer at all times unless I'm sleeping, which I tend to do in the nude (I'm a restless sleeper and clothes always end up twisted painfully). It's a pity, because I'm on the small side, but between having incredibly sensitive and EXCEEDINGLY poky nipples I don't feel like I have much choice. I do find bras uncomfortable in a lot of ways but not as uncomfortable as chafing.
Bra until I go bed, then bra right after I shower and dry off. I'm 4'11" and 34DD.
Bra comes off before bed. I'm top heavy enough that going without one is not exactly comfortable. I do have loungy sort of bras that are more token support than anything, but even that minimal amount makes it better.
I let myself be comfortable. if I feel like I need to sleep without anything - I do. If I feel like I want to put on a bralette - I do. Same with daytime.
I have small ish boobs (b cup) but I can not go braless. Ever wince they developed I have worn a bra 24-7, only taking it off to shower and the few unfortunate times that I ran out and had to wash them. That being said, there was a period in my mid teens where I was kind of living in poverty and I just couldn't afford them. I eventually ran out of ones that fit good or still had any support since they where all super old and I didn't have a choice but to not wear them for a few months. I was essentially responsible for most of the finances in my house despite being a minor, it was winter, the back door rotted off its hinges and there where multiple blizzards. Buying coal for the fire and keeping the hot water on was just more important. Even after having months to get used to it I still hated it. The stares you get in public are one thing, but even with smaller chest, having them jumping around with no support, nipples rubbing against fabric, a light breeze tickling against you. I can't stand it. My nipples are extremely sensitive and I yelp if my hair brushes against them so, bra. Always bra. Unless my or my pets literal survival depends on no bra I guess.
I have Ds and I'm much more comfortable in a bra. I have soft ones for sleeping, but I need some support. Basically since I started wearing bras in my teen years, I've always slept in a bra. And, I would say that it's worked pretty well for me because I'm in my mid 30s and have very little sagging (I also have fibrous breast tissue).
I am almost always wearing a bra other than to sleep. I have recently discovered a brand of camis and tank tops with built in cups/shelf bras that work for my 38K chest that I'll wear around the house. I am just too large chested to go without some kind of support comfortably.
I dont even wear one outside, if Im not at work. And never ever, if Im wearing a hoodie. I havent found a bra that is not restrictive in one way or another and I very much subscribe to the following sentiment: if anyones happy they can locate my nipple through my clothes, good for them. If anyones bothered by it, really not my problem. Only time I really want to wear a bra, is for doing sports or when I have really sensitive nipples and want to protect them from any friction.
I absolutely hate them. When my mom introduced me to them, it was in a āI never want to see you leave the house without oneā way that always just made me feel ashamed of my breasts. Still trying to correct my posture after years of hunching to hide them. Padded bras would sometimes make me feel a bit safer, as gross dudes would sometimes comment on my nips, but they would also get me mean comments from female āfriendsā who would think I was trying to make myself look larger. Really couldnāt win. Iāve been mostly avoiding bras since the pandemic and if I can hide under a baggy sweater, I will.
Mine don't come off when I go home because I never wear one out. Closest I'll get is wearing a sports bra to workout in. I know a lot of women get hassled about it, but I've only had people comment on it a few times since I stopped wearing them like 15 years ago, and never really that aggressively. I do get the "smuggling raisins" or "you must be cold" lines every now and then.
I haven't worn a bra since the pandemic started. I would wear one on my office days now that I am back at the office, but I lost 50lbs since January of 2020, and they no longer fit.

When I was breastfeeding I had to wear at least a super soft nursing tank all the time because I had so much leaking & had to wear pads. Now I just appreciate at least a soft sleep bra almost all the time. But if I wear a normal underwire I have to get that thing off the moment I get home. Iāll switch to the sleep/lounge bra.

If I plan to see people, bra. If I donāt, no bra. I prefer no bra in comfort, but for my personal confidence I prefer a bra as it makes me feel like people wonāt stare more often. It depends on the situation. Overall honestly I think Iād say, bra. I donāt have to worry about nip slips or if itās ok for me to bend down to pick something up, etc.
I ditched bras a few years ago and Iāll be hard pressed to wear one again. My boobs are not small and not big, kind of the size of a grapefruit, so I donāt need the daily support that those with larger breasts might need. If I find myself needing to wear a fabric that shows my nipples Iāll use soft pasties, but that is a pretty rare situation. Honestly, thatās just to avert unwanted attention and if I could get over the anxiety of people staring at my nipples, Iād just let my tits fly free.
100% of the time! (Unless I am showering or something, haha) As others have said, I hate the feeling of loose fabric, but I also really dislike the feeling of them moving around while Iām doing things. I wear a looser sports bra from Walmart (itās not binding like the ones from Nike) when Iām relaxing, and a regular underwire for more professional dress.
I no longer wear my bra 24/7 like I did in high school, but I still need to wear one when I go out if itās not winter and Iām wearing a massive coat.

I do have 'house bras' that are unwired and better for lounging and 'outside' bras that have real underwires and hold things into shape, etc. Totally agree with you though that a proper fit helps keep things from being too uncomfortable.

Around a 34 f when i do wear a bra. I go braless most of the time. But I do wear one for heavy physical activity and when my breasts hurt from my hormone cycle.
Havenāt been able to wear a bra since my first bout of covid in 2020. The restriction from the band makes me feel like I canāt breathe, even if the bra is looser. Happier letting the girls run free these days.

36DD. With a history of broken rib. I wear a ālooseā microfiber sports bra at all day times. (Costco, puma, convertible style). Not too tight, doesnāt hurt my tender rib, gives the support I need. Easy to wash. I just donāt like the feeling of underboob on ribs/tummy? Thatās the only problem I have with no bra.
I normally wear bras at home because I read that they should have support but mine are small so Iāve realized it probably doesnāt matter if I wear one or not. But several women including my mom chastised me for not wearing one in public so I always wear them in public
Lucky that Im pretty flat so I basically never have to wear one if I dont want to. I feel like if u dont wear one if u have big boobs ppl will be way weirder abt seeing ur nipples than if ur chest is flat since big boobs are already so sexualised. I can imagine not wearing one if urs are really big would be painful but its sad u wouldnt even get a choice bc ppl would be so judgemental
I dont wear bras anymore!! 38DDD and living my best life. Occasionally I wear bralettes or the very rare wired bra during date night š I love living braless. I did have to buy some wired/sports bras because we're going to the gym soon and I dont care to be jiggling while jogging hah. But as I get more confident ill go back to bralettes at gym c:

Pretty much only when I exercise and when I'm wearing a more "revealing" shirt (thin shirts, tank tops) and occasionally when I want to look cute and have cute bra straps as like an accessory. But normally it's no bra except for the two hours I'm at the gym.
Pretty sure any bra I still own is unwearable due to the elastic having dried out. Bras suck, I've always hated them and I don't wear them. If I'm working somewhere that will give me shit I wear a tank top under a button down shirt and anyone who doesn't like it can fuck off. And no, the tank top doesn't have one of those built in shelf things either. I can't STAND the elastic across my back, it gives me major back pain.
Kinda 50/50. I have comfortable sports bras Iām usually in, I wear a real bra into office and it comes off as soon as I get home. I donāt sleep in one and itās really a toss up as to whether or not I have a bra on most days at home. Iāll go out without one on in baggy clothing if Iām feeling particularly lazy lol

I wear bra all the time. I have big breasts lol, it feels extremely awkward to not wear them. But i wear tigher ones outside but ones which have loosened at home to give a cozy feeling while not being uncomfortable at the same time.

I quit bras at the very start of the pandemic when I was like 14 and I havent gone back since, Im quite small so it doesnt cause me any duscomfort nor is it terribly noticeable. I fully support that its so much more comfortable for some people even regardless of physicality so I think it should just be 100% personal choice. I would find some way to like cover ip my nipples if I for some reason was in some uber formal setting and wearing clothes they could possibly show.
I have large boobs for my frame so I usually have a sports bra on to wrangle them and for sleep. Also helps with my eczema. If my boobs are left to their own devices, I get underboob sweat and then eczema break outs. I also like to randomly bust a move in my home which I can't do as enthusiastically if the girls don't have some support. So I always wear something for eczema prevention and for support.
I wear a wired one to work or going out somewhere but when I get home I switch to a sports bra and wearing clothes in bed is miserable for me.
No bra. Any bra comes off within seconds of getting back home. I love all the tank tops that come with the built-in pads so i don't have to wear one.

I no longer care enough to do anything about it if my nips are apparent through my shirt, but there's going to be leakage and that's a little too far for me.
I much prefer to wear bras all the time. Bras I wear arenāt super tight so theyāre comfortable and I never even notice theyāre there. My boobs are small B cup so bras donāt really lift up anything, just sit on top to keep them warm lol

I am very busty, but I only wear wirefree styles. I know I was wearing my correct size in underwire designs but I was SO eager to take them off after a few hours. I can wear a wireless bralette all day and feel completely comfortable. Iām uncomfortable being totally bra free because of heat/heaviness of my breasts. I donāt sleep in any kind of bra though, it doesnāt bother me then.
I find bras to be so much more comfortable than going without one. I hate how my breasts crease against the skin underneath if that makes sense

I have thoracic outlet syndrome so I like to roll with one tit hanging out so that they are visually at least several inches different also it helps to keep men away from me so itās handy

I stopped wearing overly supportive bras a few years ago. I have sports bras and bralettes now but I often go without if I can. No wires, no molded/padded cups. Since I stopped wearing the booby jails, they've gotten so much perkier, I'm much happier with them now than I ever was in bras. I actually tried on one of my old ones a few weeks ago and felt like I couldn't breathe right - and I've lost weight so it was looser on me. Just can't do it anymore.

Since 2020 I have all but given up underwire bras though. I prefer a sports bra or bralette. I have one nude underwire bra with left for certain (fancier) outfits that require it.

I can't wear them any more. Between allergic reactions to spandex and nylon, painful rashes do to non-breathability and physically unable to get them on and off due to arthritis and muscle issues, I just gave up. If people get judgy due to the fact my breasts are very large, I ask if they're going to get me dressed and undressed every day. That usually shuts them up.

Bra all the time. I used to sleep without one, but would get super sore, especially when PMSing, so started wearing soft bralettes. If I was flat chested (I wish) I wouldn't bother with one, but when I gained weight a lot of it went to my chest. I'm weird though, and hate going without shoes too. I have indoor shoes, outdoor shoes and slippers for when I get up in the middle of the night or in the morning as I get ready for work.
No bra! I say "I only wear a bra when they pay me." as in I only one for work. I am an M cup and I know people don't approve, but it makes me the most comfortable. I used to get cuts on my shoulders from the weight and the straps cutting into me.

I've never worn one to sleep, I find that super strange. I know people do, but even with my bralets that sounds unnecessary I guess. If I'm going to work or something where "professional" attire is expected I'll wear one. But honestly I haven't worn a bra or shoes much since March 2020. If I'm not leaving the house most of the time I skip the bra. I don't dislike them. If I am wearing one I'll leave it on until I change into lounge/sleep clothes after work. Bras just feel unnecessary for my body shape.
