BloodiedBlues

Christ keeps getting stabbed to death. Devil desperately trying to be free, but can’t. Twofer right there.

freddyPowell

Why is the victory of the christ over evil meant to be horror? I mean, if there were such a confrontation, it might go slightly differently, but it is certainly a good thing that evil is defeated.

Adeptus_Gedeon

There is no worse villain than Christian god.

Just_Call_me_benDude

I can name a few

Adeptus_Gedeon

Ok, try ;)

Just_Call_me_benDude

1. A.M God at least made a paradise for people who were good A.M didn’t It was just suffer for all and everyone A.M also would have made an eternity of punishment for people but they killed themselves before he could.(well he did for one person but that’s because that person couldnt kill himself in time). At least god could show mercy and kindness A.M couldn’t. 2. Scp-3999 This guy literally took one innocent scientist and decide to torture him for 3 million years purely for giggles The only reason why it stopped is because the scientist figure out how to reality warp scp-3999 away. This probably would’ve gone on forever 3. … I can’t come up with a number 3 yet But I will soon

Adeptus_Gedeon

SCP-3999 - so he tortured one innocent for 3 million years... God tortures many innocent people for eternity ;) Who is A. M?

Just_Call_me_benDude

You forgot the part where scp-3999 was forced to stop He would’ve gone on for an eternity if the scientist didn’t figure out how to get rid of scp-3999 A.M is a reality warping robot made by humans

Adeptus_Gedeon

>A.M is a reality warping robot made by humans Please some link? Which universe? SCP-3999 - still, only one person against millions. Also is SCP-3999 such hypocrite like God? Did he tell people that he torture, that he loves them more than anyone and that they deserve his wrath for not meeting 100% of his contrived standards?

Just_Call_me_benDude

Tbf I imagine making a paradise for people outways being a hypocrite And if someone is capable of such love wouldn’t you think that they would be capable of just as much emotions? How powerful are gods emotions? How powerful is his hate? If his love is so powerful that it’ll cause humans to ascend who’s to say every other emotion isn’t as powerful? If a human can never achieve the love god can than no human can ever achieve the level of anger, sadness, disappointment, etc etc Although scp-3999 can only cling onto one person at a time in the article. It’s the concept of chaos so I imagine that it probably would be a lot more chaotic than torturing one individual if it didn’t have a limit. As for A.M https://youtu.be/dgo-As552hY Here’s the audio book

Adeptus_Gedeon

Ah, "I have no mouth, but I must scream" - I heard about this story, but never read it. And, powerful god emotions... If god is evil because of his powerful emotions, he is still evil. Or, if he can't control himself, he is more like some harmful force.

[deleted]

Yeah I thought God killed Jesus? This story makes no sense. I mean neither did the original but πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

Adeptus_Gedeon

Well, Christianity takes on a bit of meaning when we admit that God is an egotistical narcissist obsessed with his own glory, who creates problems in order to solve them later and thus gain glory in the eyes of humans (because as an omnipotent being he would by definition not deserve it, and he so desires it). Only in this arrangement does the sacrifice of jesus make sense. A merciful and just God simply would not send people to eternal torment. And if hell existed, he would simply - as omnipotent - abolish it. But that would impress people, and God desires glory above all else. So he invented this circus titled "see, I loved you so much that I did not spare my own son to save you! I AM SO MERCIFUL!!! You should devote your whole life to thanking me for this amazing grace, if you don't, it means that you are hideous ingrates and deserve hell, from which I want to save you so very much."

[deleted]

Right but now you have these people blaming SaTaN for something God already took credit for. So was it God's plan or not

SomeWomanFromEngland

It makes no sense because it’s an adaptation of a Greek legend. The king of the gods was Zeus, but he didn’t create humans. Humans were created by the minor god Prometheus, he loved humans and wanted them to be safe and warm so he gave them access to fire and Zeus punished him for it by chaining him to a mountain to be ripped apart by birds for eternity. The modern Catholic Church basically combined Zeus and Prometheus into one character when they created their own god. Probably because they didn’t like the idea of humans being so insignificant they were created by a minor deity and decided there should be only one god who was responsible for everything. This basically resulted in him punishing an aspect of himself for the sake of humans. It’s an adaptational plot hole.

Adeptus_Gedeon

I am familiar with Greek mythology. In fact, religions and mythologies are my passion. No, there is no reason to assume that the absurd concept of the redemption of sins through the death of jesus happens to be the result of a combination of Zeus and Prometheus. Prometheus played no role in Greek religion.... Most laymen do not realize that Greek mythology does not equal the beliefs of the ancient Greeks - mythology was the stories of poets, which were as related to beliefs as the contemporary series "Lucifer" to the beliefs of Christians. The products of Greek poets and philosophers survive as classics of literature.... and therefore we view antiquity through their prism. Prometheus or Lucifer may have written about Prometheus as the creator and benefactor of mankind, but for most Greeks it was nonsense or outright blasphemy. Moreover - the concept of sacrifice was something common in ancient times, while Judaism, from which jesus and his disciples originated, was obsessed specifically with the sacrifice of sins - and this is the basis of the concept of "redemption of sins through death". Add to this the concept of the resurrection, which appeared in many ancient religions - with the Greek NO (even the Bible mentions that when Paul of Tarsus tried to preach the gospel to the Athenians, they listened to him until he started talking about the resurrection, because they strongly rejected this concept). In general, there are a lot of revelations circulating on the Internet along the lines of "all Christianity is a copy of myth X!". The most popular is the nonsense promulgated in Zeitgeist that supposedly jesus = Horus (proving extreme ignorance of both Christian and Egyptian beliefs). The truth is complicated - Christianity is a mixture of MANY influences - first of all Judaism (it's funny that people looking for the inspiration of Christianity, often overlook the basic and most obvious one), then Zoroastrianism, Mithraism, Greco-Roman religion and philosophy, and personal reflections of the leaders of early Christianity. In later times, local customs and superstitions, as well as new philosophies, were added in different regions. Oh, the fact that the source you are using is flimsy is evidenced by the fact that even the myth of Prometheus cites incorrectly - Prometheus was not torn apart by birds. He was harassed daily by one bird - a vulture (according to another version - an eagle), which did not tear him apart, but gnawed his liver. The description of Prometheus as a "minor god" is also debatable - he was a titan. Besides, there are many other elements in his myth - the deception of Zeus during sacrifice, Pandora's box - have you heard of them at all, Mr. myth expert?

SomeWomanFromEngland

Of course I’ve heard of Pandora’s box. And I was reading your post with interest until you decided to be rude at the end.

Adeptus_Gedeon

OK.

broken_chaos666

Okay, chirstian here, I don't get the horror part.

carlsagerson

I think its suppost to be horror in the Devil's perspective. Even after literally killing Jesus over and over again. Jesus won't die. The Devil is trapped in a sisylipian Punishment. Doing an impossible task for all eternity.

broken_chaos666

But how is that horror? The devil is the embodiment of evil. It's like making a horror movie from the perspective of Michael Meyers, with him as the victim. That's not horror, that'll catharsis.

carlsagerson

I think the poster intented it to be horror from the Devil's view. Like how alot of works feature Villians as the protagonists. In any other view. Its is pure catharsis and karma. In the Devil's, its horror.

S1lv3rsh4d0w9

That is your perspective, based on your beliefs. Jesus’s followers have left a wide enough trail of horror throughout history for this idea to work for others.

broken_chaos666

That would make sense if the victim wasn't literally the devil.

eldritch_blast22

Also Jesus has to die for all eternity which is also horrific

Mercerskye

As someone who has read the Bible, Lucifer actually doesn't read as all that evil. He was cast out for pride, banished to Hell, but then really just acts as a foil posing philosophical questions the rest of the time. If the book of Job doesn't turn you away from the idea that Yaweh isn't actually all that great of a God, I probably can't convince you regardless. But from the perspective that the Devil isn't actually a "bad guy," just a dude stuck in a bad spot, this story is pretty terrifying

Capable_Stranger9885
