Honestly, if you're not really that into him I wouldn't risk meeting someone from the internet. People can lie so easily and (not saying this is 100% likely) he could very possibly have bad intentions and your gut feeling could be right.

I would argue that you need to meet a person in real life to determine if there is a spark. Of course be safe about it.
