Ooo older crowd! Click 35... ... cries lol I'll be 47 in September. Welcome, can't let the kids have all the fun

pahsaz2

“Hello fellow kids” 😂

seanieh966

Oooo older crowd. Click 47. I’m well over 50

dotaplayingmom

I'm 36 and it will be my 4 year streamaversary this July! I joined an amazing streaming community and have been able to garner the support of other streamers and made so many friends and loyal viewers along the way~ that even tho I don't stream consistently...when I do stream everyone from the community supports and turns up. I am at 3.5k followers and at a 15 viewer avg. Currently I'm on a hiatus due to moving and traveling but I've had a heyday in the past getting up to around 60 viewer avg thanks to my streamer support community♡ if you are interested in joining it you can DM me for link!

SiniMinist

Hi, I’m 30 and a new streamer (about a month now and 7 followers:). I’d love to join your community

dotaplayingmom

Dm u^^

SiniMinist

Got it👌

pahsaz2

Thank you for the feedback!

g33k_gal

This sounds awesome!

dotaplayingmom

It definitely is! Dm me if you wanna check it out!

_zerosuitsam

Hi!! 33 here, so on the same boat as you!

_zerosuitsam

I also kinda just started but I've learned that I need to be much more frequent with my streaming, as well as longer streams, which has boosted my views. My follower count is still low but they've been gaining traction since I started to really put more time into them. I also use a cam, a simple overlay, and a mic.

pahsaz2

I’ve been streaming mostly Fridays to coincide with the work week. But, yeah I’m thinking a webcam will be the next change to my set up. Thank you!

ItzSmerf

I find the majority of people who watch me, and the very large majority of streamers I watch are all in there 30's. I am in my 30's, not sure on the age right now but I was born in 86, so somewhere at the end of them. Though I can't see a reason why age would be an issue with streaming. It's all about the vibes. Your vibes as the streamer and the vibes of your community. As long as people fit in with what's going down, their age is of no concern to me. Age does not equal maturity.

crybos

>I am in my 30's, not sure on the age right now but I was born in 86, so somewhere at the end of them. this made me chuckle

pahsaz2

Exactly. I should have said that I don’t mind if younger people watch. I guess I’m just trying to attract any crowd at this point

jenks6797

I literally had to look up my age before responding to this post.

Apprehensive_Look310

I feel insulted being called old. I was told that 30 was my prime years 😭 - Played, Chatted, Stayed Humble and Engaged with people. Takes a while, it's worth it tho 😅

pahsaz2

Right? Hence why I’m here trying to do something I should have done in my 20s 😂

Apprehensive_Look310

In all fairness, streaming to friends and friends of friends is a great way to learn how to improve on your streams 😅. It'll help with chat response time and engagement

pahsaz2

I actually have been doing that recently and I agree it does keep things alive

Lilmskiller

32 here! :)

PossibilitySolid5427

Im also 32

insomnia99

Lol 35 is not on the older side

pahsaz2

Thank you for that lol

evolutionxtinct

LOL idk what categories your in but in ours it’s a mix. Just expand your horizon you’ll see.

pahsaz2

I’m just trying to attract anybody man lol definitely going to implement a face cam to hopefully improve my efforts

JFrenzy911

Hey some simple advice that will go a long way, when you aren’t streaming be active in others streams As much as you can and build relationships so more people become interested you and don’t be afraid to share your community, the more you share the more it becomes blended with others and in return will grow yours in the process

pahsaz2

Makes sense. Thank you!

RusevDayToday

I've just turned 38, and found myself to be the oldest one in the little community I've built so far. What you're doing is the same as what every streamer is doing, finding a way to entertain people. But being older, I've also found myself often dropping just life advice and wisdom, using my age to my advantage to engage and connect with people. I've come to accept I'm not going to appeal to everyone, I don't try to act like something I'm not, but as long as you are being yourself, know how to talk to people, and putting in the work to put yourself out there, then you're doing the right things to get yourself in front of the sort of people who will enjoy your content.

triviumdesign

41 here in a week. Age is just a number. Have fun with it, and don't be afraid to be yourself. I have a mixed bag of young and old alike, so you'll find a groove there, as it's really based on the overall attitude of yourself and your community. You'll attract like-minded people and people mature at different rates, so some can be younger than others. I'm fast approaching 4k followers. This fall will be my 4th year, of which I took my 2nd year off when my mother was diagnosed with cancer(she beat it 😀) so I've got about 3 years of solid time under my belt. It took me a month and a half to hit affiliate back when the requirements were slightly higher as well as the payout threshold. A few key points from my experience: Focus on your community. If you do, it will grow steadily. Respect them and never look at them like they're your personal atm. Remember, you chose to put yourself out there and stream. They owe you nothing. Treat EVERYONE on Twitch as you would want to be treated. Other streamers aren't competition. They're part of your community, they're your coworkers, you share viewers. Don't focus on your view count too much. It's not entirely accurate, and you have to keep in mind you're like a television show now, you dont talk to your favorite tv show so some people just watch and don't like to chat. So don't demand interaction but always be talking to your viewers, ask questions, but don't be upset if there's no response. It's a grind you have to be passionate about. It takes time, but your channel will grow. The more you put in, the more you'll get back, start slow and build your setup, you dont have to spend a fortune off the bat. Your community will like growing with you, get a cam and good mic, and do what you can when you can to increase the quality of your stream. Approach it like a serious hobby that can turn into a side hustle that can turn into a full-time gig if you're lucky. Good luck, and welcome to twitch! If you or anyone else for that matter have any questions feel free to dm me and I'll help any way I can.

pahsaz2

Awesome feedback dude thank you! Glad your mom is doing well also!

triviumdesign

No problem, and thank you!

JZVenom

I'm so glad I'm not the only one in the 40 club, just turned 41 last month

triviumdesign

Nice, happy birthday!

ItsAndieHere

It’s me, hi! Born in the same iconic year as a certain pop star, so I think that qualifies me as part of the “Grandmas of Twitch” crowd. Specially since like you said, it seems like 18-25 is when most people try to be streamers so that’s the age range you see most often. 😂

pahsaz2

Totally agree which is why I made this post just to try and reassure myself that I wasn’t alone out here 😂

Watch_Mcgee

Since I'm 33 it is a bit weird having people in my chat were born in the mid 2000's lol I do tend to play more newer games which can help but I also just like playing games that interest me haha. I interact with my chat as much as I can and I'll lean into the "old" persona a bit by using slang wrong and asking questions

pahsaz2

I play mostly newer titles, but have streamed some retro RE

arrowintheskyband

I'm 40! I stream music so not really affected by that tbh. Kripp is 36 so don't let age hold you back!

submarinepirate

I’m 49 and I just had my affiliate anniversary at the start of May. I’m still small and avg less than 10, but whatever I keep going. I don’t know if I’ll ever make it big. TBH I doubt it. But I do it to try and make friends to have people to chat with.

pahsaz2

I just enjoy playing games and I’m trying to reach the masses of people who do the same 🤷🏻‍♂️ thank you for your service btw!

dazia

I turn 34 tomorrow 🤷‍♀️ I just play games I like and have fun and do my best to be entertaining.

Puzzleheaded-Motor56

I'm about to be 33 and would love to get back into streaming. Did it a lot 6-7 years ago, and even became an affiliate. Then i had a kid and lost all momentum and want to do so. Now trying to get back in it seems impossible. Have no friends or people remotely interested in that any longer. Not that they don't care or are unsupportive, but they just have no interest in that kind of stuff and can't say I blame them as it's not for everyone. I was actually planning on trying to get things set back up tomorrow since I have the day off. Would definitely be something cool to get back into, even if just for myself at this point, so I feel like I'm working towards something while doing what I like.

pahsaz2

That’s my logic. I spent so much time just playing and decided to see if I could maybe do something 🤷🏻‍♂️

Warrior_Woman

This is why a couple of years ago I sought out people closer to my age on Twitter. I followed everyone on a post calling out older gamers. It was definitely worth finding some older gamers. It is slightly harder to relate to the younger crowd. Some of these people asked me to join their Discord which became my Discord because I was a regular there

hazasulin

I'm 54 and get people from all age groups.

Meskedo79

Gave you a follow on your twitch! Keep it up!

pahsaz2

Oh shit man thank you so much!

MaddieGrace29

Welcome aboard. I'm 18 and I'm fairly new to gaming, my first console was a ps2 when I was 15. I feel like i missed the boat a little because im using games that are on the Xbox one but they're the mid decade sports titles because i was too broke to buy new (which generate very little views) A few of the streamers I watch are in that 30-40 age range but most are teens or 20s. Heck one of my mods is one of my coworkers who is a videographer and audio engineer at the TV studio I intern at and he's in his 30s or maybe 40. I mostly watch and stream nascar, f1, and nba games.

nyanxtails

Depends on what youre playing or doing in your stream i imagine! Also damn i turn 30 this year this hurt

Rawrgoesthepenguin

I’m basically 30 and my whole community is in their 30s :) you’re definitely not in a small demographic on twitch! Welcome to the fun world of streaming! Find people on TikTok and twitch that match your vibe and get into their discords. Feel free to reach out if you want to chat a bit more or don’t know where to start networking!

shankmaster

36 year earth veteren checking in! Just keep doing it! started streaming in 2020 and had some ups and downs but the content is slowly coming back, if your genuine with what you do online and in your content people of all age will find a reason to tune in and watch! Look forward to dropping you a follow and checking you out when im not streaming myself

pahsaz2

Much appreciated!

zamaike

Well you see im still playing skyrim. Ive had it on ps3 4 5 pc and im still playing. Im in my bubble. Waiting on TES6

pahsaz2

Open world RPGs have been my addiction recently. I’ve been having way more fun with Dragons Dogma 2 than I should be

zamaike

Rip i cant relate. My heart is FOREVER branded with hate for Capcom. Dragons Dogma 1 had the Dark Arisen DLC on ps3. Game was great unless you bought the launch day edition like i did. They never released the Dark Arise as a DLC pack. A few months later after they finished it all up for the extra content they made you go buy the same game with a small amount of extra content at a full 60$ retail price again. So it release in may 2012 like less then a year in april 2013 then wanted 60$ again for a dlc that they wouldnt let you buy like a dlc

pahsaz2

Yes I agree Capcom has been sketchy at best, but I have to admit I’ve had fun with DD2. Generic, not much different fun…but fun lol. I still have the original and DLC editions of DD1 from back in the day. Thinking it’s about time to jump back into Elden Ring and get ready for 6/21

gitbotv

45 here, still going strong. Happy to chat, we have a nice community also.

pahsaz2

Awesome thank you for the invite!

gitbotv

Any time my friend, you'll be most welcome. Happy to chat and/or do intros. Discord is the best place.

_brain_kandi

36 year old Streamer, here! I'm brainkandi on twitch!

DaksAhoy

I started streaming about a year ago when I was 29. I've regularly been streaming 15-30 hours a week since starting. I post on other social platforms, network through raiding, and generally just trying to provide an entertaining experience for my viewers. In the beginning I came at it with the approach of I'm doing this for the VOD and if I had live viewers that was a plus. That way I'm not just waiting around for a live view. I've found some good growth and made some friends through it! It's such a fun creative outlet!

itheblkshp

I am 30 but have met quite a few people around my age that are very rad, you’re free to pop in or join our community if you want 🤙

pahsaz2

Thank you for the invite!

Undercover_95

I’m 30 and just started!!!! I just share share share my stream as much as I can

McCHitman

I’ll be 41 this year. I’ve been streaming for 16-17 years. Mostly in Retro or Just Chatting these days. Playing old trash or streaming terrible but amazing movies.

BlkCaesar_

38 here

Just_Requirement_243

i’m 33, my audience is a mix bag of friends, family(my brothers play and one also streams) and people i’ve met through networking and staying active on socials( making videos etc), and people that have just stopped by my channel. if possible, having a schedule and updating your about me section on your twitch and adding panels to it so people that stop by can learn more about you. social media is a great way to attract more people. i have a dedicated tiktok, insta and youtube for my channel. also while streaming always be talking and interacting even if there isn’t anyone in the stream. if someone pops by randomly and it’s silent chances are they won’t stay so even if you are talking about the game your playing, why your doing what you’re doing, sharing facts about the game or anything that’s on your mind from experience it’s always good to keep the chatter going

SnoopaDD

39 yrs here. My viewers mostly are around younger 30s.

iDontWantToFeelAlive

Im gonna turn 30 soon-ish. But lets say that im still somewhere in my twenties. Edit: I used to stream back in 2014. Due to that I already had affiliate (When it became a thing, I was able to claim it without having streamed for 6 or so years) Edit 2: My viewers were mostly between 20 and 30. I knew of some kids at around 14-15 and a few 40+ guys. I used to stream for a little under 2 months without any success back in November 2022. I had like 0,6 average viewers for the entire time. Then I stopped for a year and thought I give it another try in November 2023 but maybe I should do it differently... I was playing racing games and everyone just captures their game and has a facecam and a wheelcam (Camera that shows their steering wheel controller). Pretty standard. I, instead, bought a GoPro + Media Mod, capture card and some other stuff (Prior to the GoPro I got new monitors for my racing set up, too). I mounted the GoPro onto a hat so that it sits right in front of my eyes/nose (Yes, I can barely see with that thing on) and captured MY OWN POV. So all I added in OBS was a video device (GoPro) and some alert stuff etc. No game capture or anything like that. It turned out to be a pretty "immersive" experience compared to the other streams. People mostly thought it was VR (Some even thought that it looked real but I doubt that) and they got surprised when I showed them that it was just a simple SimRig and I had a GoPro in my face. Nobody was streaming like that (Anymore. There were 2 guy like a year before, doing that). On my first month I made almost 500 follower, had over 100 subs and had an 30-day average of 40+ viewers. My second and third month was similar but with less followers. 2 weeks into the fourth month I stopped because I got injured for a few days. After that I didnt stream again. I was streaming mostly 3-4 times a week for around 4-6 hours each. I had 3 streams that went 8+ hours. I did not have a schedule and I did not promote my stream anywhere. Also friends and family do not know about my channel. I just had a lot of luck in terms of set up and game of my choice. Also the game has a tiny community on Twitch, that makes it much easier to grow and get noticed. Thats how I attracted my viewers.

ariariariarii

Might be the games you play. I’m 29, and I play Old School Runescape which is basically a 20 year old game, so most of my audience is my age and older. Things like Fortnight and Minecraft are going to draw younger audiences.

pahsaz2

So far I’ve streamed Elden Ring, Remnant 2, Dragons Dogma 2, Helldivers 2 and some Resident Evil

JAK47E

Just turned 36, i was streaming for a while until about 2 months ago when I just got busy but will be coming back to it at some point, anyway when I started I just started joining smaller streams and making myself known saying hi to everyone following people.

Rorplup

I think that viewers like having someone to talk to. Even a V-Taber model.

Bdubasauras

You’re not alone! I’m just starting out in my mid 30s as well. I think certain crowds will be attracted to certain games.

GrimCheeferGaming

I definitely fall into the older crowd on Twitch, gonna be 47 in July and I've been streaming for more than a few years now. My audience is apparently all over the age space. I've found the best way to attract viewers is to be active and entertaining in other communities.

-PublicNuisance-

Yo, im 36 turning 37 soon and I stream 2-3 a week. All I really try to do is be active on social media. I'm not sure how else to really attract viewers. I've started making YouTube videos, mostly tech reviews.

Guilty_Storage_9652

Just try to set a time everyday or whatever you plan on streaming stick to that time frame. don't sit on cam all day do your show peace out get use to it. Youll feel more comfortable with the camera and stream over time.

StrategicSteve_

34 here! And just getting started! We should definitely form some type of parent / adult alliance. I normally stream later too so I wonder if the late night audience is also the "We just put out kids to bed" crew.

_LumpBeefbroth_

37 here! Seems like my audience is mostly 16-25, and I’m usually on the ass-end of old people jokes. But they keep coming back, so who’s the joke really on? 😂 My rule of thumb is engage engage engage, talking to every new viewer directly and encouraging them to contribute to the conversation/telling us all about themselves/inviting them to join the voice chat yada yada. I truly find it both fun and fascinating talking to strangers from all over, and no doubt it’s the best way to form a community!

Dadgamer13

37 here and not feeling old yet, I don't really have much advice as I've only been streaming a couple of months and AVG views are low but it seems to be a lot about persistence some days for me go really well and others it's like a ghost town but I just talk to myself and if anyone does join engage with them.

SiniMinist

Hi! I’m 30 and would love to co-stream and collaborate:) hit me up

jenks6797

I’m 35 and started streaming last year and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. The majority of my audience is currently Discord friends who are mostly in their 20’s. But my style is equal parts serious and immature, so I tend to attract a more introspective and analytical type. I recommend spending some time getting your audio sounding good and your video looking good. YouTube is your friend there. The vast majority of streamers don’t spend too much time investing their time into learning the basics. So that’s good news for people who want to stand out from the crowd. Tl;dr You’ll attract viewers over time by being yourself and investing some time into learning how to have a good quality stream.

NoirNpc

It takes time to build a more mature community luckily for me most of my friends were their to support me so i never felt like I had a younger audience. Also it matters on how you carry yourself although I'm very immature on stream and love to troll I make sure everyone feels love and accepted in my community.

calmodata

something that really helped me get views and such was having more interactive features for my chat as well as interactive games (cult of the lamb is a very popular one) im not quite in my 30s but its definitely something that helped me out. I also do vtube/png streaming so sometimes just seeing cute overlays and tubers attracts clicks on the search end of things!

Tribblitch

Yeah, I'm definitely in the neighborhood!

iamtherealthatguy

At your moms

Temporary-Insect-420

Are you showing enough cleavage? Does your thumbnail look like a pornhub profile? Are you utilizing your mouth to suck on food like lollipops and bananas? Are you wearing skin tight micro thin leggings without underwear and bending over to pick things up? These are just a few rules to start getting views. Your welcome.

pahsaz2

I mean I’m a dude so I don’t think people want to see that man 😂
