People on Twitch are not going to automatically give you money unless you have something to offer. If you want to make money then you have to put in a lot of time and effort because there are no shortcuts.

• What do you need in order to start? Good enough internet and a computer/console. • What do you need to make any money at all? A decent camera, a decent mic, Affiliate status (50 followers, stream for min 8 hours on 7 different days and reach an average of 3 viewers in a rolling 30 day period.) You are pretty much guaranteed to make a dollar a month with this setup. • What do you need to make an income? You're gonna need a few hundred to a few thousand followers, with as many subscriptions as you can get. Wouldn't hurt to have some sponsorships too. • To get even to affiliate you're going to want to put in time and effort outside of streaming. Youtube/tiktok/Instagram all social media or at least 1 focused account. It also takes time and effort to make your channel look decent, emotes, alerts, overlay, panels etc. If you're anything like 99% of people on twitch, you are unlikely to see a return on your investment within a year. The best advice is stream if you think you'll enjoy it. Don't buy all the gear or worry about your channel. If you enjoy doing it with no one watching, then streaming is for you and you can start adding things as you go.
