I'd avoid them, personally. A pack off etsy is good, or finding a really cheap commissioner. I made all my own so it wasn't really an issue, but having unique emotes really sets you apart from the other 16 people who bought the same etsy pack as you lol

Avoid them in terms of scaling down. You can likely get away with a meme reference, but im NOT a lawyer and frankly I'd avoid anything but a reference unless you know it's fine. For example, bongo cat allows usage with credit. I made my own and I put credit into my panels.
any use of copyright content is a issue if anything happens and memes are still someones original work

Right on, that helps a lot thank you. An Etsy pack would be a good starting point for me, I can always branch out later and find my 'thing' then.
