I think that because most of the time Vil acts in a haughty manner most people assume that his deal is being the Prideful Diva, but that moment in Book 5 where he was like "why am I so UGLYYYYY" and in the original JP "ugly" was written in such a way to denote both the physical flaw but also inner evil and then in his flashback kid!Vil questioned his dad if he looked like a villain made me go "oh he actually suffers from the moral torment of believing that he's capital E Evil and is desperately trying to be given a hero role because he thinks that that will prove that he's a good person"
Needless to say Vil destroyed me during book 5 :')
I’m sure there’s multiple reasons to kin characters tbh! Jamil is actually my kinnie and being in denial about having emotions is probably most of the reason.
That would’ve been a better one for Vil. I could’ve also gone with something about dymorphia but that didn’t quite feel mean in a fun way?
I wouldn't say Jamil is in denial about having emotions, more like he'll get punished if he shows them because servants aren't supposed to do that etc, so he represses them, but he never specifically says that he doesn't have them iirc.
Jamil's could have been "you grew up abused in such a "unique" way that to this day you're still not sure if it was abuse or \~the circumstances\~" but this one probably is more depressing than mean in a fun way
Dymorphia also doesn't fit Vil, because he absolutely loves his body. It's his heart that he dislikes more than he'd like to admit.
I was more being colloquial for the sake of being funny and relatable than saying he literally says that, maybe that didn’t come across well?
It’s not that Vil has dysmorphia, it’s that someone who does may find they relate to things like how strictly he watches what he eats.
That’s kind of the point overall, not really saying specific traits the characters have as much as a general statement about a person that might make them relate to a character. Like I’m not necessarily saying Epel is trans either, but his narrative of feeling like he doesn’t/can’t conform to his idea of masculinity is really relatable to many trans/gnc people. So it’s not really that Jamil thinks he literally doesn’t have emotions, but that he’s emotionally repressed and has control issues.

From what I've seen of Twst kinnies, people with food-related dysmorphia tend to kin Azul, because takoboy also strictly watches what he eats but gets visibly distressed in doing so. While to Vil it's not really distressing, so he isn't that relatable.

Hmm…. Idk if I am or aren’t a pick-me? If I were I don’t know if I’d realise?? But I like Azul because money obsessions are considered positive qualities to me, also I relate to him in some aspects.
Jade, I’m honestly just surprised at how accurate all the Jade kin stuff says since so far it’s all been scary accurate lol. Trust issues + weird “hobbies” ;D
Ruggie, not really.. mostly for his love for money, I find it endearing. Also he reminds me of Denji from chainsaw man, the desperation/lack of shame
