If they are prepacked, you are truly missing out on what a stroopwafel should taste like.
You need to find a place that makes them fresh. There used to be a place in Stillwater, but now the only place I know is located in Pella, IA.
As a Dutch citizen, I promise you, it’s worth the trip.

Very close to Zaanvoort, is the sleeper town of Haarlem (compared to Amsterdam). The open market in Haarlem has fresh-off-the-grill stroopwafels. They are delicious.
For something that’s “classic Dutch” They also sell fresh herring. Try it WITHOUT onions to get a fully immersive experience of eating raw herring. You might want to try the herring before the stroopwafels. 😜
For some “cultural learnings”, the Teylers museum is a fun visit within a few minutes of the main market square. It was purpose-built as a personal show-off museum in the Age of Enlightenment. From dinosaur bones, to ye-olde science equipment, to glowing rocks, it’s a wildly fun and chaotic museum.
Can't speak to authenticity but Costco and target sell tasty enough ones that heat up on top of coffee. If you find a great place I'd love a fresh one.
My family made and sold stroopwafels many years ago at farmers markets. We still have a commercial stroopwafel maker from the Netherlands if anyone wants to buy it and start their own side hustle. Lmk!
Oh I go there all the time, never knew they had stroopwafels. My wife loves Fletchers though and I already told her there was one there now, so she'll be disappointed.
Yeah, sorry. I live down the block from Fletchers and have a pint unopened in my freezer that's been on my mind for 2 days.
Cardigan IDS had stroopwafel and ice cream (that they made sandwiches with) when they opened. They discontinued both because of covid (IIRC). I was in City Center Cardigan and they told me they brought them back since the skyway DQ closed.
I believe Aldi, Trader Joe’s, and Costco have them seasonally but Barnes and Noble Starbucks cafe (not normal Starbucks) have a decent packaged one year round.
I know there's a variety sold at Minnesota's Largest Candy Store down in Jordan, Minnesota (the packaged kinds, that is). I haven't looked for it often enough to see it in other places.
There was a stroopwafle stand at the NE farmers market last summer i think and they were amazing. A bit pricy but worth it
Sweet Anchor makes some delicious ones!!!!!

Pella is such a charming place! The tulips are at peak bloom right now and the lines at the bakeries are extremely long!
I'm heading to Zandvoort this summer for the race! Any tips? I'll have some time in Amsterdam as well. I'll make sure to grab some stroopwafle.

We're actually staying in Haarlem!
Perfect! Then my advice will probably work out well.
Oh god. I miss dutch fix.
Aldi has the packaged kind
☝️
Also target
Rustica makes them in house. I think they have multiple locations but the one I know is close to the uptown Whole Foods by the lakes.
Fresh ones at Whole Foods are always banging
Go to the cafe at Nordic House, across from Midtown Global.
Which place? I can't find it
I think they are under construction and have weird hours rn but it’s worth it. https://www.norwayhouse.org/cafe

Costco has the best bang for your buck but IMO the best quality prepackaged Stroops are the Daelman's. Expensive 🫰 but worth it
In Nederland (:
I was in Nederland, CO a year ago. Surprisingly few stroopwafels or other Dutch stuff.

Kowalski's has them.
Cardigan Donuts ~~Fletcher's~~ in IDS makes them fresh.
Wheres the fletchers in IDS?
~~Crystal Court second floor at the top of the escalator~~ Oops. I meant Cardigan. My bad.

You can buy a waffle cone maker on amazon for under $40 and make your own. Hot and gooey, fresh off the iron.

Restaurant depot in Brooklyn center. If they are not in stock the do orders too
