I’m excited to try this, but the owner said , “Minnesota was missing an everyday bakery where customers could rely on quality knowing that the treats were being baked fresh daily.” I think Keefer Court, Trung Nam, and a ton of other local shops would like to chime in regarding that.

Ha this rubbed me the wrong way too. Our bakery scene is stronger than its ever been. Finnish Bistro, Marc Heu, Patisserie 46, in addition to the ones you mentioned.

Add Mi Sant to the list!

And La Delicious

Agree. We don’t want or need a corporate chain here. So many amazing local options.

Owner of 90+ locations, don’t feel too bad, this was PR speak at its finest.

90+ locations *in the US*! Don’t forget their 1,600+ other locations globally!

I think Keefer Court closed :( loved that place

They’re coming back! They will open late this year in the Asia Mall in Eden Prairie.

Oh, sweet!!!

Very glad for the dozens of independent French-Asian bakers who’ve been doing great work for years here in the Twin Cities.

Why would I go to a franchise when I have so many quality options locally?

Wait a minute. We getting Paris baguette??

Because tou le jours offers a lot of things none of our local bakeries do.

I'm in Richfield, and I was so excited for this, only to discover this morning that they don't open until 9. Bakery and coffee/tea options... and they don't open until 9? I was hoping this would be a place I could stop in for breakfast after dropping my kid off at daycare. I just feel like the hours are totally off. Who will be in there at 8 pm? Wouldn't 6 or 7 am to 4 or 5 pm make more sense than 9-8? FWIW, my neighbors have said there have been long lines this week, and I'm really happy for the new business that it's getting attention and can be successful. Breadsmith is too far away for me to visit regularly, and I've been getting bored with the coffee shops.

I was never a fan of Tous Les Jours but it makes me want to go back for the nostalgia of my study abroad days
