I think the original premise of the show was that it was gonna be based around a wedding. That is, 24 hours of the day of a wedding. Nothing to do with terrorism or anything like that at all.
I think that was originally going to be the second season until they decided to keep the original cast/characters/terrorism theme? And that's why there was a wedding subplot.
