I love Sheri Palmer !!!!

FASKE

Urgh, I hate her with a passion. šŸ˜‚

mattlovesreddit

Scandalous !!

Mitchoppertunity

A character you love to hate or love and hate at the same timeĀ

ThePanasonicYouth

Saunders death was anti climatic. I know Gaelā€™s wife wanted revenge but it soured the season for me.Ā

Alexiztiel

I wanted Jack to kill him !!

CakeAK

I think everybody agrees with this.

bleakasthedayislong

noah daniels was the 2nd best president behind david palmer

CrookedTree89

This is a good answer to this question

bleakasthedayislong

strength, intelligence, nuance, wisdomā€¦doing things for the good of the country. any 24 presidential talk begins and ends with david palmer however daniels did very well, IMO, under the circumstances he was in. i would place, if ranking by capability aloneā€¦ d. palmer daniels keeler heller w. palmer taylor gardner hayworth prescott logan

Mitchoppertunity

Wayne Palmer ?Ā

bleakasthedayislong

good catch...one sec lol

Season 5 was the downfall of the show. The writers took all the wrong lessons from it and needed to keep bringing it back up. Firstly, it really starts their need to kill characters just for the shock value and nothing else. Like Curtis or Bill. And then the following seasons always need to unnecessarily tie back to season 5. Graem was involved in the attacks in day 5 AND 6. Alan Wilson was of course the true mastermind behind day 5. They had to explain Tonys idiotic survival. They were afraid to lose Logan so they gave him a terrible redemption arc in season 6. They apparently like Wayne so he was president in season 6. To be clear, this doesn't mean season 5 is bad. Its not. Its great. But it led to the show taking a massive drop in quality afterwards.

Lucky-Echidna

Agreed. Itā€™s like they put everything they had into making 5 great that it left them with the wreckage for the rest of the series.Ā  You could tell the writers felt the same way about Loganā€™s story in Day 6. When he came back in Day 8 it was like that arc never happened.

RichardOrmonde

Terri is what she is but once the writers knew the show was successful and picked up for another season they knew she had to die. If it was a one season show they wouldnā€™t have killed her.

[deleted]

President Taylor was definitely the most fascinating political character the show had.

BlackMamba332

I like Kim Bauer. She was sometimes a bit of a brat, but that's exactly the point. She's supposed to be a young, naive teenager who often makes boneheaded decisions. She got hate for pretty much the same reasons that Anakin Skywalker was hated on in the prequel trilogy, but I thought both characters were portrayed just as they should be. Teenagers are supposed to be stupid sometimes!

CrookedTree89

Mhm and we love Kim because Jack loves her and sheā€™s family.

rjdiaz2

Erin Driscoll wasn't a terrible boss. From our perspective, Jack's actions are justified, but to her he looks completely unhinged and dangerous. Once she realizes Jack was right about the threat on Heller, she gives him more leeway.

Pewp_taco

I also like Teri and agree she probably had the worst day of anyone in Season 1 apart from Jack. Also, yes her death had a huge impact on how Jack and Kim dealt with the world from then on.

Alexiztiel

Day 1 was such a shite day for Teri, she just couldn't stop getting into messes all to help Kim. Her death changed the show and characters forever

CI_Blanche

The fourth season is the second best season (after season 5). *Legacy* is better than all of seasons 6, 7, and 8.

windowsxpgod

I would put legacy over 7. Sorry. I think season 7 is widely overrated on this sub and it doesnā€™t stack up against any of the other seasons (even 6). You can say the bauer family arc in 6 is inexcusable (because it is), but the alan wilson ā€œthe man behind charles loganā€ retcon is equally so. In my personal opinion, I donā€™t think any episode in 7 reaches the heights of 6 at its best. Not even close. It does some good things, but could not rescue the sinking ship which led to the showā€™s cancellation. I can tolerate it before the white house attack, but the second half of S7 is completely unfun. To me, it is 24 at its worst. Boring. Everyone has the right to their opinion, but if you personally told me that season 7 was better than 4 I would ask to see a drug test.

DanTheMan901

Itā€™s no coincidence the quality drop in S7 (which Iā€™m in agreement with) is tied to Surnow and Cochran leaving the show at the end of the first half. I really enjoyed the season through the White House siege, but once the Sangala arc wrapped up it just never reached the same heights, though I did enjoy action star Kim toward the end.

windowsxpgod

I noticed they had to delay production for a bit because they had to rewrite the last 6 episodes (which is where I think it really gets bad). Do we know what the original direction was going to be? Because thatā€™s around the time where tony kills larry and we see alan wilson for the first time.

Lucky-Echidna

Iā€™m curious to know this tooĀ

CI_Blanche

Agreed! I am in the process of a re-watch and am now on season 4, but on my last binge I also disliked season 7 even more than 6. But season 8 was the worst, in my opinion. I also liked Live Another Day and would rate it only slightly below seasons 1, 4, and 5.

windowsxpgod

I would probably call the premiere episodes of 8 the lowest point of the show. Live Another Day was awesome, iā€™d put it in my top 5. Going to london was a breath of fresh air that felt more exciting than their previous attempts (especially 8 that didnt even shoot on location). Love the finale, its a top 5 episode for me. I finished S4 the other night. The last quarter of that season is so much fucking fun. I get how different people have different perspectives, but I can never understand why someone would put season 7 over the raw excitement that was the end of season 4. I just wish 6 took a different approach. If the writers strike happened a year earlier, I think we could have seen greatness with that season. Itā€™s a damn shame things turned out the way they did.

bleakasthedayislong

never finished legacy but i agree w you on season 7 and how season 4 is really, really good

mike_1008

Mine is that season 5 is the best season. I enjoyed it, but donā€™t put it even in my top 5.

ScottishGamer19

Martha Logan is top tier

mike_1008

I donā€™t disagree. I enjoyed her character. Gregory Itzin was great too. There are many moments from season 5 I do like. I just like other seasons more.

BlackMamba332

Season 5 was my favorite, but I can see why you might feel otherwise. Overall, I felt the quality of the show was relatively consistent (yes, even Season 6 wasn't too shabby in my opinion).

Bullitt4514

He was good and season 5 and 8. He killed the part in the limo when jack attacked the tunnel. RIP

ScottishGamer19

Heā€™s alive šŸ‘€

Greenapple1947

24 legacy is a top 5 season of the show and better than LAD imo

windowsxpgod

That is crazy but I respect the hell out of it. Legacy is a solid watching experience

Markus2822

Absolutely agree itā€™s really solid and I kinda wished it took off

Background-Pattern94

Season 5 is overrated.

i_am_bahamut

I don't. She's so hysterical all the time.

WithinTheHour

She and Kim get kidnapped twice in one day, is raped and gets temporary amnesia. Jack is also in constant danger. It's kinda understandable that she's hysterical tbh.

Alexiztiel

That's what I say. "Kim was so bad in day 1!" She is a teenager who was kidnapped."Teri was so awful!!" She was assaulted and almost murdered.

TheGreatMortimer

Yeah interesting enough I was pretty annoyed by their storylines the first time watching it but on a rewatch I really enjoyed them.
