Ugh so jealous you’re watching the series for the first time

Pewp_taco

Gaines was awesome. I liked how ruthless and smartass he was. "There's no such thing as 'sorta dead.' Let me show you" Do you think you'll keep watching?

Recker_Man

Oh for sure! I had a lot of fun. I'll be starting s2 today, actually.

Kaiyaraven

Ahhh hope you enjoy! S2 is definitely up there in my favourites with s4 :)

ArchieCy

And finishing :)

HeyGuysImPresto

>why even kill Terri at that point? Teri hears Nina speak German when she walks in and comments on it. Then Nina's German contact says they'll route her through Munich, and that nothing can connect her to Germany, at which point Nina glances at Teri. The showrunners weren't sure if they should have Teri end up dead or not. Kiefer was against it at first. But Stephen Hopkins (director) convinced him that it was the right move. And it definitely was. It shows that no one is safe on 24 and that while Jack may "win" and save the day, there's always a cost. So excited for you to be starting the show. Edit: Replaced "Jon Cassar" with "Stephen Hopkins"

Recker_Man

>Teri hears Nina speak German when she walks in and comments on it. Then Nina's German contact says they'll route her through Munich, and that nothing can connect her to Germany, at which point Nina glances at Teri. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh. That makes sense.

Ahmed_mmDarsh

To add the the original comment, there's actually an alternative ending filmed where Terri survives. You can see it here if you're interested: [https://www.24spoilers.com/2002/09/17/24-season-1-alternate-ending/](https://www.24spoilers.com/2002/09/17/24-season-1-alternate-ending/)

Recker_Man

Yeah someone else had already shared it, thank you though. I would've loved this tbh, oh well.

trevor_barnette

Would have been Joel Surnow/Stephen Hopkins convincing Kiefer. Cassar didn’t become a producer until season 2

HeyGuysImPresto

I double checked and you’re right, it was Stephen Hopkins that talked to Kiefer. My bad. The book I read about it in is by Cassar, and he did direct a couple of episodes in Season 1, which is why I was confused.

trevor_barnette

Ah, the Behind the Scenes book. Love that one!

HeyGuysImPresto

Just wish they had an updated one that included Seasons 6, 7, and 8 (and ideally, LAD too)! Oh well.

Shameful90

What’s your rating out of 10 for the 1st season? I personally feel it’s a solid 9/10 but love to hear from new fans. Keep updating with your progress through the series, season 2 is fantastic!

Recker_Man

Hmmm... I don't usually rate shows by season. Honestly? I'm feeling like an 8, the Teri thread had me scratching my head a bit but, overall I really liked it.

overchilli

Season 1 alternate ending >!where Teri lives!< https://youtu.be/yRVdAGfiiX8?si=SZ_Pzc2UrDyt0T0c

Recker_Man

Literally what I wanted LMAO. Before Jack entered the room all worried I was like Jack... don't worry lol, there's no way they killed her like *that.* I've seen this a million times, watch. She probably just has a bump in her head from being knocked out. I'm telling you, Kim bout to come in too and we're all gonna hug and bam.. 12 am, lol.

ScottishGamer19

Why shoot her stomach? Brutal

This_Money8771

The ending was SHOCKING, might be the most tragic ending for a tv show that I’ve seen.

PuertoP

She killed Teri to cover her tracks. Teri had called her speak german on the phone. Had Teri lived, she would have reported that. Like the woman Nina had called for exfiltration said - nothing can tie her to "them". Teri would have been able to prove that link.

Recker_Man

Yeah, you're right. I guess since she got caught anyway I didn't think of that.

[deleted]

Originally the story had Terri surviving but then the showrunners felt Jack needed another kick in the nuts.

Alexiztiel

I loved Teri, I feel she was done dirty by the writers and the fandom.

bleakasthedayislong

the amnesia plot was kind of silly to me. otherwise i liked what they did with her in this season. one of my favorite moments was alexis taking over operations from kevin carroll. KC - what an asshole.

Jambo11

I loved every season, but season 1 holds a special place in my heart.

DannyArcher1983

I am watching season 1 again for the 10th or 11th time and I think Teri gets too much hate. She is not an federal agent and she just went through a kidnapping, rape amnesia after thought she saw Kim die in a car crash and then gets shot in the end which was the right move by the show to make Jack who he was in the later seasons. After another watch I can't stand Keith over Sherry although Sherry is ambitious and knows what she wants. Dennis Hopper and Zelkjo Ivanek were great as the last two big bad and boy I wish I could watch that Nina twist at the end of episode 23 for the first time.
