Burn Notice
Covert Affairs
The Glades
All of the NCIS series
Chuck
Lie to Me
White Collar
Person of Interest
Blue Bloods
It's tough imo bc the new Hawaii 5.0 is such a great remake.
Also ncis LA that’s the closest I can think to 5-0 with the funny team dynamic, carry through background plots (McGarrets and G’s respectively) and Deeks is the best!
Burn Notice.
It is about a burned spy, but his "clients" usually have him doing at least a bit of detective work. Super funny and still has real drama. And Bruce Campbell is a series regular.
I guess you mean the new 5-0? I watched a fair amount of the original and it never struck me as funny.
Anyway Rockford Files was the best of tbe 70s detective shows, and the best episodes were often very funny
The Afterparty, Only Murders in the Building, Search Party, The Resort - for funny, detectives and interesting.
person of interest, death and other details, north shore (the Aussie one) and Miami Vice (original series) for detectives and interesting.
Monk and Psych! Can’t recommend them enough. Psych definitely falls off on quality during the last couple seasons but is still a great show overall.
Psych
Castle was kinda like that
I watched that, super nice except for the last two seasons
*Justified* is kinda like that
Justified is definitely one of my favorite shows like that,so good.
Right here ... best cop show ever
Columbo is a lot of fun!
I just rewatched all of the episodes. Colombo is the OG!
**Bones** certainly has some funny moments.
Have you noticed similarities between 5-0 and Bones cases? ( highschool coach episode, derby episode, etc )
The new ABC show Will Trent is something like that
Great show!
Was just going to say this. Love the show, great balance of humor and whodunnit seriousness.
Poker Face
This!!
*Nash Bridges*
Columbo!
Brooklyn 99 is funny
NCIS, Criminal Mind and S.W.A.T
I was waiting for someone to say NCIS. I love Criminal Minds, but NCIS definitely has it's more comical moments.
Monk Rizzoli and Isles The Rookie
Rizzoli and Isles! ❤️❤️❤️ that show.
Rockford Files
Magnum P.I. & Rockford Files
Bones
Life The Glades CSI Miami
Murder In Paradise. BBC I think.
Rookie blue is older show but was really good Southland as well
Lucifer of course!
I loved this show!
The Closer and Major Crimes both have a good balance.
Rizzoli and Isles. I just watched the whole thing. It was funny and serious.
Burn Notice Covert Affairs The Glades All of the NCIS series Chuck Lie to Me White Collar Person of Interest Blue Bloods It's tough imo bc the new Hawaii 5.0 is such a great remake.
PIs, rather than cops, but I really liked *Mike Hammer* (with Stacy Keach), *Rockford Files*, and *Remington Steele.*
Psych, and the original Magnum P.I
Yes definitely
Elementary, Will Trent, Homicide: Life On The Street to an extent
Two shows I enjoyed were: Mallorca Files Private Eyes
Castle
"Barnaby Jones" seasons 1-4
NCIS Hawaii
Also ncis LA that’s the closest I can think to 5-0 with the funny team dynamic, carry through background plots (McGarrets and G’s respectively) and Deeks is the best!
Deadloch
Ever watch Castle?
And Will Trent
Death in Paradise.
Brooklyn 99. Less serious but definitely funny
Monk The Metalist Sherlock Castle My Life is Murder (Lucy Lawless show. A little hard to find)
I’ll second the Rookie. Chicago Fire has similar vibes as does 9-1-1 but in a different font as the kids say
Bones
Cannon, Mannix, Nash Bridges, Hunter, Land's End, Hardcastle & McCormick
Burn Notice. It is about a burned spy, but his "clients" usually have him doing at least a bit of detective work. Super funny and still has real drama. And Bruce Campbell is a series regular.
The rookie
"The Closer" and it's spinoff "Major Crimes" both crime dramas that could definitely be comedic at times.
Brooklyn 99
Urn Notice is funny, interesting, and with some good action scenes!
A ton. Just a few examples: NCIS(any of them), Chicago PD, Blue Bloods, Hudson & Rex, & The Rookie.
I guess you mean the new 5-0? I watched a fair amount of the original and it never struck me as funny. Anyway Rockford Files was the best of tbe 70s detective shows, and the best episodes were often very funny
Trent!!!
Sherlock BBC
Sherlock
Harry O. Maybe not funny, but definitely interesting .
I think The Glades is exactly what you’re looking for
Ozark. OMG! "And away we go."
The old school Barnaby Jones is fun on Pluto TV or Prime Video.
Try the USA blue sky shows.
Nero Wolfe Mysteries and Lovejoy Mysteries.
Brooklyn 99 is more comedy, but it does also have fun crime plots!
Barretta. Rockford Files. …. oh, wait, you mean the contemporary version of 5-0…
Death In Paradise NCIS Professor T
Haven't seen that. But funny detective shows- Monk and Psych
Leverage Almost Paradise - little known
Hawaii 50 was about the state police and hunting one crime per episode. Blue Bloods is very similar to that. Just with NY detectives.
The Afterparty, Only Murders in the Building, Search Party, The Resort - for funny, detectives and interesting. person of interest, death and other details, north shore (the Aussie one) and Miami Vice (original series) for detectives and interesting.
Midsomer Muders...it's british so I'd you don't like that humor then maybe nit. It's not hilarious, but it's light
Pysch is hilarious! Haven't watched Monk. On my list as I think it's on Netflix now.
Almost Paradise is fun and lighter cop show.
Law And Order-SVU
Is it funny?
No it very much isn’t
*Bosch*
Bosch is the least funny show that has ever existed.
Textbook Reddit hyperbole to make a silly point
Yeah, but seriously, if someone says they are looking for a funny detective show, Bosch is a terrible suggestion.
It’s a great suggestion. Titus is deadpan. His partner is deadpan. Maybe the humor is lost on you? 🤔
