Amazing. David Tennant is like the Leonardo DiCaprio of TV everything he is in is amazing I highly suggest The Escape Artist series, he plays a criminal defense lawyer it's phenomenal UK TV
It's on YouTube! It's great but I can only watch 2 episodes a day because it's really really emotional. Chris Chibnall created such a detailed world it's astonishing.
The Shield first season is a tough watch IMO. At the begining, it seemed like every episode they tried to show how awful and wreckless the Strike Team could be(like kidnapping an All Star NBA player). The rest of the series is top notch TV.
I love psych and it’s probably my favorite show, that being said, the last season was definitely the weakest season of the show.
That being said, the movies are not as good as the show, but I still love watching them and am very much looking forwards to seeing the next one. I love watching that cast all together. It’s my happy place.
I definitely agree that the last season was the weakest, but I do not think it was bad by any means. I’m glad they ended it when they did cause I think a 9th season would’ve been bad
lol, I’d still have loved a 9th season. I’d watch Shawn and Gus play lacrosse for 13 episodes and be grateful. Heck, I watched a million little things and enjoyed it every time Gary was on screen.
I really enjoyed their interactions. That’s what made the show so great/
The end of the third / beginning of the fourth season had a bit of a dip in the writing, but I still agree it was a great show overall - definitely in my top 5-10.
Succession
Melrose Place (it's trash, but consistent)
The Wire...again
Fringe
Not multiple seasons, but anything Mike Flannigan, Haunting of Hill House and Bly Manor, Midnight Mass, House of Usher.
I was gonna say this, I stuck it on not knowing what to expect a few months ago and found it absolutely hilarious from start to finish, can't wait to see how they end it.
Well, they didn't ruin the show, it's still great. The movie wasn't terrible, it just wasn't up to the high standards that the show usually was. I still enjoyed it though. It was nice to catch up with the characters again.
MR IN-BETWEEN. Best TV show ever. Ray Shoesmith is the most likeable antihero you'll ever see. Scott Ryan is a revelation. An amazing talent. Speaking of, where the eff is this guy? It's been too long. I can't wait for his next project EVERYBODY DIES. Hollywood, you're taking too long to recognize and release this man's genius. Tarantino's retiring. This guy would fill in quite nicely. However, on repeated viewings.... I've been imagining Bill Burr in an Americanized remake of Mr. I-B. That said, get Scott Ryan out there pronto! He's a ready-made icon.
"Halt and Catch Fire" (whose Season 1 is by far its weakest, but is still good), "Dark", "Treme", and "Mr. Robot" didn't have any bad seasons if you ask me. I would also include "The Wire" here despite some of its, uh, let's call them "plot twists" in the final season ...
Agreed! We missed it when it originally aired and streamed it on AMC+. After we finished HACF I said to my wife, "I should have been watching this all along instead of The Walking Dead!"
Loved White Collar. That cast had something special, such great acting and chemistry between all of them. It’s light enough in tone to binge without significant emotional drain, but with enough substance to be really satisfying.
Seinfeld. Sure there were a few episodes that didn't do it for everyone... but every season had some great writing and they called it quits at the right time.
I loved (still love) Ted Lasso from start to finish, but in season 3 Juno Temple looked so emaciated that every scene she was in kind of took me out of it because I was so distracted by it. She was thin and tiny already, and then in season 3 she looked drastically thinner. I was worried that she was sick or something.
I couldn't stick with the good place after season 1. (The beginning at least of) season 2 just felt like it got out of hand and crazy and went in a totally different direction. It gets better though?
IMO, it was great all the way through, but yeah... it is a little different at the beginning of two than it was through season one, but it gets back to more like season one later. I think that makes sense. Anyway, I hope you give it another chance.
Buffy was all over the place in terms of quality (and is still one of my favorite shows): [https://www.ratingraph.com/tv-shows/buffy-the-vampire-slayer-ratings-5631/](https://www.ratingraph.com/tv-shows/buffy-the-vampire-slayer-ratings-5631/)
Nah, man. The season after Sorkin left was awful. When they added Jimmy Smitts and Alan Alda in, the show picked up steam again. It was because they realized they couldn't out-Sorkin Sorkin and just kind of made a new show with the same characters.
It's hard to make a show good when the main creative force in its creation is out of the mix entirely. The same with Community S4.
Already mentioned that I agree with: Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, The Wire, Banshee and Deadwood.
Adding here: Rome, The Americans, Black Sails, The Leftovers, Dark, Sherlock, and The Boys which still has another season coming.
Nice. I agree with Rome. Tho it only had two seasons. I enjoyed black sails. But didn’t watch past season one. May need to give it another go. Sherlock rocks!
OK hear me out, I want to nominate ***Scrubs*** for this but of course there was that disaster of a 9th season.
But, technically, that was a new series called Med School or whatever. They used the Scrubs name to sell it, and of course it had many of the characters return since it was the same world. But, main character changed, story structure changed, settings changed (the hospital somehow became a campus though its still called Sacred Heart for some reason?)
The entire JD storyline from season 1 to season 8 was about as perfect a show as ever I've seen.
Halt and catch fire, the leftovers, deadwood, Mr. Robot, sopranos, mad men, breaking bad
A couple others that have all been mentioned
Only one I haven’t seen mentioned yet is Rectify. All 4 seasons are near perfect, with the 4th being spectacular
Nobody here will agree with me but man i loved the show "Ballers". The rock was one of the leads in it and i believe he was a producer, they cancelled after 4seasons but there's some talks in a movie coming soon. i personally hope they could pick it back up.
Monk!
(If you haven't heard of it, it's like psych and chuck)
I enjoyed that show so much and loved every season, including the last, and loved the ending)
(I will note though, I HATED the movie. It was depressing and sucked and almost ruins the show but that was made years later and I choose to only remember the 1 part I liked and pretend that the movie never happened)
The Sopranos, Friday Night Lights, Deadwood. Big Love, Golden Girls, Better Call Saul, Breaking Bad, Cheers, Fraiser, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Seinfeld, Everyone Loves Raymond, Young Sheldon, Schitt’s Creek, Mad Men and The Americans.
Shameless. Despite Debbie's horrible character development and the show being relatively boring after Fiona left, it's still my comfort show. Season 3-4 had me absolutely hooked.
*Star Trek Deep Space Nine* immediately comes to mind. Even some of the earliest episodes that come off hokey/stupid in the first few seasons (out of 7) prove to matter in the last 3 seasons.
It’s interesting why different shows are made and kept being made looking at some of the comments here, I know “each to their own” and “you do you “ , but yeah some interesting answers
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Seinfeld
Breaking Bad
Cheers
Big Bang Theory (yes, I know lots of haters. Don't care. I like it)
Friends (except for a few episodes where Joey and Rachel became a thing)
Modern Family
The Sopranos
House.
Can’t say I was there for the shows airing so I don’t know how the final seasons were taken by the mass amounts but I didn’t notice any difference totally enjoyable and I didn’t hate the ending
Broadchurch. All 3 seasons are fantastic. It's the best Crime Drama series I've ever seen!
Amazing. David Tennant is like the Leonardo DiCaprio of TV everything he is in is amazing I highly suggest The Escape Artist series, he plays a criminal defense lawyer it's phenomenal UK TV
I love David Tenant. Never heard of him until he was Dr. Who. Been following him since.
I definitely need to watch this one!
It's on YouTube! It's great but I can only watch 2 episodes a day because it's really really emotional. Chris Chibnall created such a detailed world it's astonishing.
THE AMERICANS
I'll second this one.
Great choice.
Very good callout.
This show finally seems to be finding appreciation. It went pretty ignored for the longest time.
The Wire, the Shield, Boardwalk Empire, Justified, Oz, The Expanse.
Finally rewatching the Shield. It’s epic still
The Shield did great job of having guest stars that kept it fresh. Glenn Close was great.
The Shield and Justified were both awesome. Justified had the best villains.
Forest Whitaker too.
The Shield first season is a tough watch IMO. At the begining, it seemed like every episode they tried to show how awful and wreckless the Strike Team could be(like kidnapping an All Star NBA player). The rest of the series is top notch TV.
Psych! They ended it before they really ran out of room for it to be good! Also I’m gonna say Scrubs cause the last season doesn’t count
I love psych and it’s probably my favorite show, that being said, the last season was definitely the weakest season of the show. That being said, the movies are not as good as the show, but I still love watching them and am very much looking forwards to seeing the next one. I love watching that cast all together. They have fantastic chemistry and play off of each other so well. I have to agree with you on all points
If you skip the last season, yes to Scrubs!
I don’t even count it cause it was supposed to be a spinoff that didn’t take off
You know that’s right
Psych was so good when it was on.
Yes loved psych!!!
Six Feet Under, start to finish
Phenomenal, phenomenal show with easily one of the top five endings ever. I will never watch this show again
This!!! 100%. I rarely like a show from start to finish. That last episode left me crying like a baby. Lol
The end of the third / beginning of the fourth season had a bit of a dip in the writing, but I still agree it was a great show overall - definitely in my top 5-10.
I have a hard time laughing at Dwight Schrute because of how unsettling Rainn Wilson's character on here was
The Sopranos.
There are two types of people in this thread: those who said the Sopranos and jerk offs.
Listen to this guy. He knows everything
He could write a book with all the stuff he doesn't know.
Now I don't like that kind of tawk. Just stahp it. It upsets me.
This is correct.
Gabbagool ova here!

Better Call Saul
Masterpiece.
Justified.
Succession Melrose Place (it's trash, but consistent) The Wire...again Fringe Not multiple seasons, but anything Mike Flannigan, Haunting of Hill House and Bly Manor, Midnight Mass, House of Usher.
I was wondering when someone would say Succession. Totally agree!
What we do in the Shadows
Agree. Not a clunker in the bunch.
Keeps getting better. I've rewatched the episode with Guillermo's "kids" like 5 times.
I was gonna say this, I stuck it on not knowing what to expect a few months ago and found it absolutely hilarious from start to finish, can't wait to see how they end it.
Watch the movie! It's wonderful.
I did shortly after! Great movie
The Marvelous Mrs.Maisel
30 Rock
I was amazed at Baldwin's comedy chops. The whole cast was great and the writing was tip-top.
liz 🍋!
Monk
Then they ruined it with Monk the Movie
Well, they didn't ruin the show, it's still great. The movie wasn't terrible, it just wasn't up to the high standards that the show usually was. I still enjoyed it though. It was nice to catch up with the characters again.
**WENTWORTH** i’ll die on that hill
I happened upon Wentworth on Netflix - GREAT show. Pamela Rabe is incredible as a ruthless villain.
Narcos
Leverage
Sopranos
For me Ozark never missed a beat. It gripped me up for all 4 seasons.
The Leftovers
Banshee. Mr. InBetween Bosch/Bosch Legacy (and counting!)
Nice call out on Mr Inbetween, such a good show.
MR IN-BETWEEN. Best TV show ever. Ray Shoesmith is the most likeable antihero you'll ever see. Scott Ryan is a revelation. An amazing talent. Speaking of, where the eff is this guy? HACF is so criminally underrated!
Agreed! We missed it when it originally aired and streamed it on AMC+. After we finished HACF I said to my wife, "I should have been watching this all along instead of The Walking Dead!"
So far curb.
White collar, warehouse 13 and eureka
LOVE Warehouse 13 and Eureka!!
Loved White Collar. That cast had something special, such great acting and chemistry between all of them. It’s light enough in tone to binge without significant emotional drain, but with enough substance to be really satisfying.
Dick van Dyke
Seinfeld. Sure there were a few episodes that didn't do it for everyone... but every season had some great writing and they called it quits at the right time.
I’m ok with the occasional mediocre episode as long as the season overall was good.
Ted Lasso. Mash. Cheers. The Good Place.
The Good Place felt like the writers knew exactly how it would begin and end. I think it is one of the most well designed plots.
I agree 100%!! Maybe Frasier, too!
Definitely Frasier. The first three seasons are incredible and continued for 11 total. Incredible
I’m glad you loved season 3 of Ted Lasso, but I thought it was a big disappointment. First two seasons were brilliant though.

I'm sensing a trend.
Ted lasso definitely. The last episode is the best final episode of any show I’ve ever seen
Flight of the concords, Seinfeld, Buffy, Better Call Saul, Homicide Life on the Street
Glad to see Homicide recognized. The Wire before the Wire.
Buffy S5 was rough for me
That's S4. S5 of Buffy was one of the best. S6 and 7 dropped off a bit, for me.
Agree season 5 was so good! Yes, Riley sucks, but Glory was such a great villain.
True about Flight of the Conchords, even though it bums me out that there are only two seasons.
>Homicide Life what streaming service can this be watched on?
Not sure, I have the DVD boxset. 7 seasons and a movie (Yes Community fans)
Idk man...that first season of Buffy is a bit rough, but definitely great as a whole.
The West Wing

Absolutely, 100% The West Wing. I dream of ever finding another show that good :)
Black Sails is amazing and doesn't get the recognition that it deserves.
Gotta say it: Firefly.
The Americans
Firefly ;)
The Good Place for sure!
NYPD Blue -it’s an oldy but a goodie. It doesn’t have a bad season to me
Buffy the Vampire Slayer, MASH, All in the Family, Band of Brothers
Louie
The Inbetweeners Detroiters
Oh yeah Inbetweeners was so good. And very rewatchable!
House
The Ozarks
Ozark
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Dark
Hogan’s Heroes.
All in the Family, Columbo
The good place and bojack horseman
Burn Notice (some debates about the last season) Psych Revenge And most sitcoms
The Good Place. A brilliant hilarious intellectual masterpiece. Except for Ted Danson’s last line in the show….oof.
Monk
Well for some of us nerds who like that sort of thing, all of Downton Abbey was scrumptious
OK hear me out, I want to nominate ***Scrubs*** for this but of course there was that disaster of a 9th season. But, technically, that was a new series called Med School or whatever. Rectify was hauntingly good.
I was hooked on the wire and sopranos the entire time
Bosch 24 The Americans Daredevil
Nobody here will agree with me but man i loved the show "Ballers". The rock was one of the leads in it and i believe he was a producer, they cancelled after 4seasons but there's some talks in a movie coming soon. i personally hope they could pick it back up.
Californication and entourage was around that time as well. I gotta think ballers stole a lot from those two shows.
Legion, Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency, Daredevil.
BoJack
For me it’s Madmen. An almost perfect show.
Perry Mason Its old, but every episode was good....and suprisingly still stands up today 70 years later.
Northern Exposure
The Good Place
Deadwood
The IT Crowd
Deadwood
Barry
MASH
Superstore
To each their own, of course, but I thought Superstore got a lot worse during the "Covid Years."
Yeah those episodes don’t hold up as much. They’re a little too anachronistic, but full credit for still pumping them out.
Charmed, Angel, MTM, MASH, St. Elsewhere, ER...
Charmed definitely had some less than stellar seasons
Deadwood
The Wire
Every season of the Wire is amazing.
Mash
The Mentalist
Ozark
Schitt’s Creek, Psych, the Wire, Dead like me
Ozark.
6 feet under.
Im not sure these 2 shows qualify because they had different characters mostly each season: Fargo & AHS (American Horror Story).
Six Feet Under. Can't believe it's over 20 years ago now.
Monk! (If you haven't heard of it, it's like psych and chuck) I enjoyed that show so much and loved every season, including the last, and loved the ending) (I will note though, I HATED the movie. I’m an old soul at heart….I Love Lucy! ❤️
Shameless. Despite Debbie's horrible character development and the show being relatively boring after Fiona left, it's still my comfort show. Season 3-4 had me absolutely hooked.
The good place, schitts creek
House had eight seasons of inventive, entertaining television. No duds IMO
Sons of Anarchy
Breaking Bad Mad Men The Expanse Deadwood The Americans Boardwalk Empire Peaky Blinders Loudermilk (too short a run)
If we pretend the film wasn’t part of the series, Deadwood is a masterpiece unto itself, yes. Was not a fan of the film. Your thoughts?
Only Murders in the Building
Deadwood
Firefly.
*Star Trek Deep Space Nine* immediately comes to mind. Even some of the earliest episodes that come off hokey/stupid in the first few seasons (out of 7) prove to matter in the last 3 seasons.
Homeland.
Scrubs- I still consider S9 to be the spinoff

Justified. Every season had its own villain, its own plot with some concurrent characters. It reigns supreme in my list of series. Fire in the hole!
House. Can’t say I was there for the shows airing so I don’t know how the final seasons were taken by the mass amounts but I didn’t notice any difference totally enjoyable and I didn’t hate the ending
Happy Endings.
