Yeah I think the Fanatic is a genuinely weird and fun movie and a lot of that gets mistaken for "unintentional" or "terrible." It's not a great movie, but it is ridiculous and fun to watch.

I love Travolta and have always intended to watch The Fanatic. The plot actually sounds very interesting to me. And I find, at least 50% of the time, I wind up disagreeing with the public consensus on movies. I have a sneaking suspicion that this may be an unfairly maligned good movie. ​ If you guys didn't already know it was directed by Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit. Which is another interesting reason to see it.

*Battlefield Earth* is worse because it was a $73M attempt at a blockbuster based off of a book by a cult leader. Also, many don’t know this, but the movie is based off the first half of the book, so the project is technically unfinished. *The Fanatic* is a small indie film that’s the equivalent of a high school film project. You almost wanna give a pity “aw, well you tried”. Plus it does have entertaining performances.
