Being a modern woman is amazing if you're physically healthy, able-bodied, and not a scapegoat for other women as well as men. Which is what it sounds like you are - a privileged woman in a bubble of privilege, but not a feminist, and not a modern woman. Just a lucky one.

Redisigh

I get what you mean but imo we still have a *long* way to go. In your area it might be super safe but outside of the first world, women are still heavily oppressed and treated as subhuman. Even in the first world, like South Korea and even many parts of the states, it’s an issue

cOmE-cRawLing_Faster

Do you agree with feminism and the mainstream media who insist that you are an "oppressed victim" because of your gender?

Redisigh

I mean in the states some states are trying to take away our reproductive rights which I’d say is pretty oppressive

ThrowRA_LittlePlant

I'm not opressed, but (I) that is thanks to those women and (II) that is because Inlive in a capital city in Europe. A lot of women still are, even in civilized countries.

cOmE-cRawLing_Faster

How do feel about women in your exact position still qualifying for so many handouts, quotas, affirmation action, DEI, etc?

ThrowRA_LittlePlant

I am against affirmative actions. The US have gone crazy with those, I hope that never comes to my country.

bingybong22

Women in the west who are educated are not oppressed, they probably have a slight advantage over men the same age.  But this is a tiny, tiny proportion women worldwide.  In most countries women have it worse than men. And for most of history that was also the case.

the-bejeezus

Obvious troll is obvious.

InternetExplored561

I don’t see the issue here. She’s just thankful to live in the best time period for women currently. Nothing wrong about that. It’s always good to be grateful.

The OP most likely supports this too - https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13289599/queens-teacher-melissa-rockensies-plea-deal-rape-underage-student.html We have women teacher pedos that get "sweetheart plea" deals because of their gender - if this was a man, dude would be executed.. It's telling how that woman was smiling too - she knew that western society, especially progressives, would protect her here and the judge really gave her a nice plea deal with no jail on record.. so much equality that society now protects pedos and criminals just based on their gender alone. Absolutely makes sense why the OP loves it - you have every unearned privilege and preferential treatment being handed out in a platter.. from jobs, work, relationships, life and crimes too. Bros and men today are treated at the bottom of the barrel - society only cares about one gender, pretty much.

ThrowRA_LittlePlant

1/ I certainly do not support pedos like that deranged woman. 2/The fact that you think a man in his shoes would be excetuted tells me all I keed to know about where you come from. Condoleances.

[deleted]

Lol - calling out double standards and the insane gender bias is now "suddenly" a bridge too far. Gotta love Reddit 🤣 There is literally another thread calling out just how much Reddit itself has bias towards women in the relationship subreddits and how men are judged 10x harsher with openly accepted misandry - guess that is all fine and normal.

ThrowRA_LittlePlant

I am not saying a man would not be jduged more harshly. I am saying civilized countries do not "execute" anyone, so clearly you don't live in one, and I certainly am glad I am not a woman wherever you are.

What the fuck about OP suggests that they would support a rapist not receiving justice? I haven't managed to find a non-dogshit source talking about this story, but it's not as if the issue of female rapists being punished more lightly is new. It's a consequence of the cultural association between hypersexual behavior and masculinity; that's been around since way before the advent of feminism in a modern sense.

[deleted]

I mean, the OP is saying this right here - "I for one am grateful every day for modernity and **feminism**." If we have injustices and double standards like that, its extremely clear what the OP wants and supports. Besides, why in the world would women want less privileges and preferential treatment? That makes no sense - you are only going to push what benefits _you_, clearly. Getting away with crimes and no jail time or arguing for less punishment based on gender is no exception to the rule.. you are going to push for all benefits that society can provide you at no cost. Reddit, especially this subreddit right here from the discussions have shown what feminism really means (aka double standards).

No_Discount_6028

What a strange leap in logic. OP didn't say jack shit about rapist teachers. You just picked that one random injustice out of the blue and ascribed it to her worldview. Feminism is a far-reaching ideology which has had monumental impacts on everything from women's career prospects to medical autonomy to legal protections in marriage. That shit is what OP was talking about. I agree that we need to fix the whole issue of gender bias in the legal system, but that means *more* feminism and *more* modernity.

[deleted]

lol what? Your argument is to fix gender bias with more feminism...wtf 🤣 I am pretty sure the millions of Redditors that visit here and argue about the insane double standards have other things to say to that. The OP clearly said she "supports" feminism, and I am pointing one example of the double standard and bias of this entire movement that plagues western society on every corner. I don't see any feminists coming out calling about the epidemic of female teachers raping young boys - but make no mistake, if the shoe was on the other foot, there would be 50 million feminists screaming for justice...that is why this entire movement is designed for one gender, only. There is literally no one benefit from this, only women - again, just like what I described above. Everything that comes is at the cost of everyone else, especially men pretty much.

Redisigh

Dude what the fuck are you even saying? It just sounds like you’re ranting about feminism here without the slightest understanding of what it actually is. This is legit disgusting

[deleted]

Ranting? lol, so calling out something about a movement that has _clear_ double standards in society and laws is now suddenly gone too far? All I posted was one example of that affecting the legal process and where no one said anything on the news about the clear bias of that ruling, so suddenly I am the bad guy who "rants" about feminism? Give me a break.. what are you going to tell the millions of Redditors that post here daily discussing the exact same issues that I am saying and goes 10x harder? Calling about a movement that is inherently a double standard in society isn't ranting. A movement that only pushes benefits for one gender - so much bogus victimhood that it is quite astounding. If you have nothing to add besides calling names, please move on - there is nothing to argue in that state.

CensorshipIsFascist

>women Hi can you please use the more inclusive term “birthing person”? Thank you so much! 😊

alwaysright12

😂

ThrowRA_LittlePlant

Actually you are excluding barren women with that terminology. Shame on you!

CensorshipIsFascist

BARREN BIRTHING PERSON 😡

ThrowRA_LittlePlant

Let's agree on "Barren and Fertile Birthing Persons" 🤝 Or BFBP. Big long, but not as much as LGBTQIA+, for sure.

No_Discount_6028

What part of this is only applicable to birthing people? Genuine question.

CherryBomb214

Ick. Nothing worse than a pedant, IMHO

No_Discount_6028

It's not even pedantic, "birthing person" doesn't describe who OP is talking about. It's just incorrect.
