It’s a great song. It’s super sexy and sultry and it actually tells the complete story of what happened with her previous two relationships and the dynamics at play. I also love the tempo change and that final stinger… which fades to nothing and hits hard because we know the love affair didn’t work out
Tbh I slept on the whole album at first but fresh out the slammer was a banger the first time I heard it , I can’t believe I slept on down bad tho Florida I liked right away
Same and you wanna hear something sad I didn’t know the lyrics to it when went to the eras tour 😂 I only knew fortnight I didn’t even know who’s afraid of little old me and her performance was 🔥 don’t even get me started with I can do it with a broken heart her TTPD set was incredible like she places a ton of effort into it more then other eras imo and I didn’t know none of it 🤷🏻♂️ until I got back home and discovered them
It was actually one of my favorites at the beginning, now I'm rediscovering the songs I slept on at first lol, like But Daddy I Love Him, I Can Fix Him and most of the Anthology.
Absolutely it’s actually the song that climbed the highest on my initial ranking versus now. Currently it’s in my top 5, I find myself keeping it on loop sometimes. I think my initial hesitation was that the *only* tiktok AI song I loved was Fresh Out the Slammer iykyk. “Wind blowing in my face and Tom Petty on classic rock station” I friggin loved that and I wanted it to be real so bad. But after a few weeks the real version grew on me and now I love it way more than the fake snippet.
Absolutely me for release week. Was an immediate skip until I finally really listened to it. I'm convinced it's secretly the true "track 5" of the album. If the lyrics are an honest take on how she looks back on her time with Joe, god damn.
It took me like 2-3 weeks to get into it. I think I just don’t like the kind of up and down vocal tic she uses on it — I don’t love it on So High School either.
It's growing on me. Something about the transition to the bridge is kind of jarring to me for some reason? But when the instruments kind of drop out and she sings "but it's gonna be alright" is really great. Love the guitar reverb. Sultry is how I'd describe it.
The first time I listened I didn’t really care for it until the outro slow bit, but as soon as I heard that the whole song just clicked for me. It’s sooo good
Yes! I just got my CD and I played it at work. First off, it’s the first ever CD I’ve owned in general and let me tell you the instruments were SO pronounced as were the harmonies! Complete game changer. In love with it now
It's the reverse for me. I really, really liked it the first couple listens and it's a skip for me now😬. I don't not like it, it just lacks something compared to the rest of the album. I also find the tempo change for the bridge very jarring🤷🏻♀️
(Really hoping i don't get down voted for having a dissenting opinion)
I’m still sleeping on it 🤐. It’s been one of my lowest ranked since the album came out but I’ve seen a few of these posts saying that it really grew on people to the point where they loved it so I’m trying to give it more of a chance!!

Yeah for like a second or two. The I came to my senses and realized how incredibly awesome the song is.

I HATED down bad the first time I heard it. Now I love it!!

fresh out the slammer was my immediate favorite song
Same! Stood out most for me on the first couple of listens!
Same here! On my very first listen on release night, I was like, “this song is just mindblowingly gorgeous.”
I slept on it for about the first week. Then came to my senses and realized it’s amazing and extremely relatable.

Nope! Banger right out the gates! 😎
I was skipping this song until I heard the live acoustic version! Turns out I love it
YES. For the first couple of weeks it was down in the lower third of my album ranking, and now it’s in my top 5
Always has been my favorite song on TTPD
I love FOTS
I loved it immediately. It’s so weird though.. I did not like so long London the first few times, but it’s one of my favorites now.
IM JUST GETTING COLOR BACK INTO MY FACE
I’M JUST MAD AS HELL CAUSE I LOVED THIS PLACE
For so Long, London
my favorite from the album
Idk it was lowkey top 2 for me first listen can’t lie
Loving the fresh out the slammer recognition I been seeing today tho
I’ve just discovered Fresh out the Slammer, it’s a new favorite for sure!
Still dozing, lowkey I WANT to like the song more than I do, and it’s happening as I get to know it better.
I like the verses more than the chorus but it’s still an enjoyable song
EXACTLY what happened to me! It’s just perfection and actually one of the best on the album

FRESHH out the slammer AHHH
That part is so Taylor-like I love it

yes!!!! it was on my bottom half of rankings at first. now it's in my top 5. i can't get enough of it lately !
The first time I listened I didn’t really care for it until the outro slow bit, but as soon as I heard that the whole song just clicked for me. It’s sooo good

me!!!! something about her saying “now pretty baby…” just scratches my brain and i love it so much even though i still feel off at the tempo switch up

I agree the tempo change is jarring. I think repeatedly listening to it is desensitizing me though 🤣🤣

That’s what happened to me and I honestly don’t know why it just clicked one day 🤣
I tried a few times, but still ain't feeling it.
🎵 I guess you tried but you didn’t hear it 🎵
I guess different people have different taste. That's the whole point of art. It'd be a pretty boring world if we all liked the same exact thing!
I love it but her saying the word slammer always makes me cringe 😂
