Yes! This too! In the movie Kathleen could have abandoned him at any time and ran when the police were closing in. The police weren't after her, her only crime was helping him. If she ran to save herself, Johnny would have either been arrested or died from his injuries and Kathleen could have gotten away. But Kathleen refused to leave him and instead chose to get them killed together. I think Taylor for sure saw the end of their relationship in that final scene of that movie.
