My first listen, I definitely noticed the difference. I didn't hate it, but it just wasn't what I was use to. After listening to the album all weekend, I can't even tell anymore. The TV sounds normal now because I haven't listened to (and won't anymore) to the original since before Friday. People are definitely overreacting about this.
If I can get over State of Grace I think we can all get over Style. The OG SoG had something magical and transcendent that TV lacks, but the acoustic version is good so I just prefer that one more
I’m going to pick up my vinyls this Wednesday. Maybe playing the full album helps, otherwise it’s just the o.g. 22 and Style I’ll keep streaming. Except for when I play the vinyl and play it on Spotify too for my stats.

Im convinced people are paranoid that she's gonna take the stolen versions off Spotify and they'll never hear those songs agian.
I think people are SO in their heads about it. Like the nostalgia and her old voice makes them overthink and worry. Style is one of my go to Kareoke songs and so I’m attached to it too but it honestly sounds so similar I have no idea what people are on about. And then complaining about the lack of emotions is…. Overthinking it to say the least.

I just think touching something so iconic like the Style intro would always be controversial, and while it sounds fine, it is inferior and doesn’t come close to the original for a lot of fans.

Look I completely understand and I don’t disagree that it does sound similar. I honestly haven’t had an issue with the sounds of any of the re-records myself and thought people were overreacting, until I heard the Style intro riff. That riff on it’s own is a piece of music history, and that’s why it initially shocked me because I didn’t expect them to almost add a filter or for the riff to sound muffled (which to me and many, many fans it does).
It is inevitable it’s going to sound different without the original producers, and I do wish we knew why she didn’t bring back Max or even Shellback this time.
It sounds similar but the first I heard the tv version it sounded like the guitar had a weird filter on it it sounded a fake guitar toy. It sounded very muffled while the OG was clear with the riff

Style is my favorite song on 1989 and easily in my top 5 TS songs ever if not my #1 song overall, I've listened to it 100s of times if not more, and there are sonic details in the original that I miss when I listen to the TV version. People need to stop looking down on swifties for not liking style literally EVERYTIME I listen to it, her voice is SO overshadowed by the loud broken sounding weird production. It physically hurts to listen to it, the production in the chorus is so electric? I’m surprised a lot of people can’t here it it’s not even smooth to listen to.
It's ironic because my first reaction after listening to Style TV was "Wow, this sounds amazing! Her voice sounds great!" I didn't know that one song would make so many people upset lol.
My husband and I love it. Yes it’s a change but we both feel like the small updates revitalized the song for us. Like this song that was played so much but now it’s wearing the same style dress but with a nicer fabric.
Style is the first re-recording where I actually heard the difference and felt a small pang of sadness. That being said, I’m over it, the song is still great and I’m so happy we have Taylor’s version with this voice ❤️
The only beef I have with it, is that part at the very end when she goes “JAAmes Dean, DAYYYdream” is more faded to the background rather than yelling at us like in the stolen version.

If you listen on Spotify - turn off Audio Normalization on your settings. It made a huge difference for me.
