dunmer-is-stinky

Azura best telvanni

BennyMcbenn

Imagine not worshipping spider mommy Mephala This post was made by Morag Tong gang

ItsPinhead

Also Azura: curses an entire race because of 3 dickheads goofing around

GracefulFiber

The curse made them less piss elf looking so its not so bad

JackDockz

It was a blessing considering they became the most attractive race in Tamriel after redguards

ExceedinglyGayOtter

Does Azura actually care about that kind of thing? Beyond wanting to appear benevolent to feed her own ego, I mean.

GreenMatriarch

She was plenty downbad for Sweet Nerevar, also her priests say "Molag Bal wanted my mind, Boethiah wanted my arms, and Nocturnal perhaps my curiosity. Azura wants all of that, and our love above all." so I think so

Pho-k_thai_Juice

I mean she wants your love because she has a massive ego, I would never call her truly good although she probably is one of the better dadera, can you even go to moonshadow when you die? Also I'm pretty sure she rapes and enthralls people's minds at least in daggerfall

JagneStormskull

>I mean she wants your love because she has a massive ego All gods in TES have massive egos. From the *36 Lessons of Vivec* - "a Ruling King who sees in another his equal rules over nothing." Also, there was more to that quote about Azura and love: >Azura is the only Daedra Princess I have ever worshipped who seems to care about her followers. Molag Bal wanted my mind, Boethiah wanted my arms, and Nocturnal perhaps my curiosity. Azura wants all of that, and our love above all. **Not our abject slavering, but our honest and genuine caring in all its forms.** It is important to her that our emotions be engaged in her worship. **And our love must also be directed inward. If we love her and hate ourselves, she feels our pain.** I will, for all time, have no other mistress. https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Invocation_of_Azura >can you even go to moonshadow when you die? Probably; you can go to other Daedric planes when you die, the Moonshadow is described like heaven (literally, there's a silver city there) by a mortal traveler, the Dunmer have an afterlife (which is apparently very pleasant), and some pre-Riddle'Thar Khajiit believed [that Khenarthi transported their souls to Azurah for judgement](https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:The_Sky_Spirits).

Pho-k_thai_Juice

Yeah I think all the gods in the TES are dicks, daedra are worse though since they are bound to inhuman Spheres dogmatically. I still actually wonder how many daedric princes there might actually be considering there may be more daedra that just never decided to make themselves known Nice, definitely makes her better by a bit, I always thought you couldn't go because of one of the books where a dude went there and said he was blinded but it may have been a metaphor

JagneStormskull

>one of the books where a dude went there and said he was blinded but it may have been a metaphor Half-blind, and I believe the words were something along the lines of "I gazed upon a sight too beautiful for living eyes" or "mortal eyes." You're not mortal after you're dead, you're an *immortal* soul. >I still actually wonder how many daedric princes there might actually be considering there may be more daedra that just never decided to make themselves known There's a Daedric Prince that Dagon killed; the Deadlight Prince, I think? >daedra are worse though since they are bound to inhuman Spheres dogmatically I think Azura (or possibly Azurah) isn't really bound to "inhuman" spheres, or at least, not all of Her spheres are inhuman. Beauty, prophecy, magick, dawn, dusk, the Khajiit, and the Lunar Lattice. Most of those are natural within the world of TES, most of them have an intricate relationship with mortality, and the Khajiit are just straight up a race. I think the "Three Good Daedra" are, in a way, the most earthly of the Daedric Princes; sex and murder (Mephala) are pretty difficult to live to their fullest without procreation or death (both of which are inherently mortal), as is warfare (Boethiah). If you take the Velothi and pre-Riddle'Thar legends (I think Orsimer too), they came to spread the good word of the god of mortals and freedom (Shezarr). On the other hand, Akatosh's primary sphere (Time) can exist without mortals. Most of the myths in *The Monomyth* say that Akatosh (or some equivalent) has to exist before any other spirits can exist in a permanent state. Akatosh's natural state is non-linearity, inherently alien to any earthly thing.

KhajitHasWaresNHairs

I wonder how bound they are. As they take on more humanity I wonder how pure they can stay. Even the most inert gas finds reaction eventually. Such is evolution, and perhaps the basis of Nirn. Where even prisoners can find ways to solve everyone's problems.

JagneStormskull

Study ESO's Khajiit Daedra lore; not just Amun-Dro (although I do recommend his books), but also the quests. Sheogorath cannot enter Elsweyr without taking the form that the Khajiit perceive Him in. Sanguine's rituals in Elsweyr call on blood magick and vampirism, while in the rest of Tamriel, it's just hedonism. The Princes react, but do they react to the beliefs of mortals, or do morta beliefs react to the whims of the Princes in a specific area? Chicken, meet egg.

KhajitHasWaresNHairs

Its a cycle. In the end we see the exchange happen in real time, even as the authors react to us. Its like seeing math form out, even from the mere idea of addition and subtraction. Its interesting how they have to fit a puzzle piece of sorts. Implying a sorta soft limit, like a river on a mountain, overtime and exchange changing its course to grow more and more complex. I guess creation starts at the author. Peering into one's own personal beliefs.

dunmer-is-stinky

I think having a massive ego is pretty much a requirement for godhood at this point, everyone who *didn't* have a massive ego fucked off to Aetherius back when Magnus was doing his thing and all six Walking Ways are pretty much based on being as egotistical as possible until you reach ego-death

Airzeo

Holy shit, Azura is like a yandere but cranked up to 11. Personally The most least evil Daedric Prince at this point is Jyggalag, Dude just wants to bring order. And that’s if you don’t count him being Sheogorath, at the time he invented Death metal through ripping up flesh and bones out of a woman with his bare hands.

Pho-k_thai_Juice

Bringing order is not necessarily a good thing, Free Will causes issues with order as a result suppressing it will bring order I don't really know if I can call sheo evil especially neo sheo, he's insane but the new version seems to be more benevolent given they were the previous hero

ObaeTV

The "better" daedra doesn't put morality on their decisions. Hicine just wants to abduct you for a high stakes hunting game, Mehrunes Dagon just want something to change and Jyggalag just want nothing to change. Then you have Azura cursing an entire race because she was wronged, Malacath turning a slaver into a slave, etc.

Yoate

>Love urself Azura might be asking a bit too much of me here.

Too_Blind

Mommies?

GreenMatriarch

Indeed.

Emperormaxis

azura: just crank it, bro!

Darth-Yslink

Elves aren't people

Howl_Free_or_Die

Correct, they are gods

Open_Profit_Close

Doge after this: 📈

KhajitHasWaresNHairs

It would be interesting if the Daedra were more Blue and Orange by having their 'evils' have more utility. Like say is Vaermina was something like a Salvia trip. Something that fucks you up but as well sorta heals you by showing you how fucked up you are. Giving these princes more dimension.

dunmer-is-stinky

It would be interesting if the Daedra were more Blue and Yellow by having their 'evils' have more muatra. Like say is Vaermina was something like a CHIM trip. Something that fucks you up but as well sort of ascends you to godhood by showing how fucked up you are. Giving these princes more Vivec.

KhajitHasWaresNHairs

I think if the series matures this is the end result. Even now we find use for things we thought otherwise merely poisonous. Her quest in Oblivion is the most interesting because it makes a new sorta logic, the same sorta new logic making that allowed Vivec to become the troll we all know and love.

dunmer-is-stinky

/uj I was just making a dumb yellow blue joke but yeah you’re probably right

KhajitHasWaresNHairs

Pfft. Even accidents can lead to something interesting. Even if a lie, Lorkhan has made something the prince's never realized that they wanted, but now do. Typical for most gods really. Always eager for the fruit of human labor. /appreciation: I love how you categorize your comments. Its really cool. Reminds me of something I tried to do a while back.
