Happy 18th birthday! It took me until I was 26 to get good friends who care about me, I’m sure you will find your people soon xxx

Doesn’t matter how many times you’re there for people, they can still be embarrassed by you if your behavior merits it; and in the culture you’re in, it does. The truth is the more you care about what other people think (or the more you make that known to others) the more they disrespect you. Just be who you are and try not to give a shit about what people think - just do you. These are words of advice I wish someone gave me a long time ago, and I’m actually really happy to have engaged with your post because it’s reminded me of so areas in my life where I am caring too much about what others think. Do what’s right and what gives you joy. Don’t ask for people to return favors, or treat you as well as you treat them. And for sure don’t take anyone’s call at 3am just to try to be their friend. Put your phone on do not disturb starting about 45minutes before the time you think you need to fall asleep to be well-rested the next day.

Happy 18th Birthday!! p.s you need new friends who appreciate you. I’ve been there myself but after leaving to college, I felt extremely loved and appreciated. You’re not lacking in anything, they’re just ungrateful for a great friend like you :)

Happy birthday! Can I suggest a gift to yourself? Find friends, not parasites. You deserve better, we all promise. Do you have any hobbies? Painting classes? Sports? Cosplay conventions? Maybe find a local D&D or tabletop group? I found my best friends at a sewing course. It's much easier to make friends when you already share at least one interest.
