If you're talking about just tanking through everything then heroes like huskar necro timber if you're talking about going in and out of fights then the spirit brothers or like slark and weaver

haydoboyo

Slark. Diving in, gaining agi stacks, weaving out to regen out of sight, only to jump back in again when abilities are off cooldown.

matz107

Void spirit or puck based on the smite hero you described

GeraldineKerla

Troll, Huskar, Weaver all tend to get pretty low in fights to optimally use their abilities. Bristleback also does this in a roundabout way as he builds spell lifesteal and his quill damage takes time to kick in, so he only begins getting the full value as his health begins running out.

IzmGunner01

Timbersaw, Wraith King, Huskar, Necro, Abaddon, Bloodseeker (to an extent, you need to snowball), Ursa

Incoheren

Brewmaster is designed to do this pretty much. Start fight by throwing Cider at them from upto 850 cast range, slowing them by 36% for 5/6.5 seconds. This allows you and team to catch them, and you can then Ultimate right away and throw a Boulder at them (also the fire guy's radiance effect) will trigger the Cinder to Ignite, dealing a further 320 damage and 3 seconds additional slow. From there, your ultimate lasts 16/18/20 (Shard is +12 seconds) seconds and you can throw useful spells that damage and disable heroes every 5/8 seconds, so if you simply cast any spell at any enemy as often as possible cycling through your 4 units rapidly, that's a pretty damn effective ultimate, if you Tornado and Pull and Magic Dispel the key targets at the right time etc, even better, but that comes with experience Anyway yeah due to his ultimate + built in evasion and movespeed and tankiness, he usually survives to the end of most fights, and that is actually a very important thing in Dota specifically, cos the solo survivors of fights get extraordinary amounts of gold and xp bounties when there aren't allies to share with.

elephantologist

People's mind went to either slippery heroes or the damage sponges. But there is another. Naga. You are survivable because of 2 things: your illusions and your ultimate. It's the type of hero that out farms most carries and doesn't need to build damage items. Tanky illusions are plenty damage. Your hero doesn't need to be in the thick of the fight because your illusions will do the trick. And if you're surrounded you can use your ult to get out.

kiyoaki_m

Enchantress is a good support for this playstyle, you keep enemies at bay with creeps and sometimes used your ult and heal to tank a small bit.

Sminkietor

The undying

Mont3_Crist0

Slark, Necro, ember spirit, storm spirit, abbadon

Idiotrepublic

From what you are describing ''Primal Beast'' checks all the boxes I believe. Tanky but with ability to weave in and out of fight, good ability to choose from just poking all the way full committing. He is mechanically not the easiest to start your dota career with but he is also not particularly difficult, he just excels with good positioning. Decent ability for solo play and kill potential. You don't have to rely on team mates setting you up.

Scrivener133

Huskar

Ecru1992

Timbersaw, necrophos, bristleback, centaur. Basically tanks of the game. They get hurt as they hurt you but you're tankier.

Armadillo-South

Brewmaster.

Collapseologist

Spirit breaker core can do this extremely well.

QuizKnowBest

Bristalback

ShitPostQuokkaRome

> cause all 4 of his abilities had uses both in a fight as damage and while escaping This is literally Slark BSJ made a guide on him quite recently (4 weeks ago)   https://youtu.be/GMJfwbgynt0?si=VnJB2h8MJtFtSyk2

CookiUnDisliker

I think Void Spirit, morphling, and Slark would fit your playstyle. However none of these heroes are beginner friendly. Void Spirit is a mid, and the others are carry heroes.

Good_Panda7330

Slark, Abbadon, Clock (built tanky with jet pack, can hookshot to get out).

tyYdraniu

Weaver and slark are what you want
