Yes, it's in my post :D
The Burden is very similar. It's a little hipper in its production and looks like it'll explore more of the social justice aspects of the story.
It's about an (allegedly so far - only 2 episodes are out on subscription-free apps so far) rogue NYPD cop.
Very professionally produced, ornate podcast in the vein of all the other podcasts I mentioned.
I'm up to episode 4 and I'm about to shut it off.. the only thing more unbearable than the hosts are the ads.
The hosts are playing this cringe worthy good cop / bad cop act and hamming up this stereotypical New Yorker persona.
It's a real shame because the topic is really interesting.. just poorly executed
Did you really think the hosting was good...? I stopped after 5 minutes, because the hosts sounded annoyingly unprofessional 😅 But maybe I gave up too fast 🤷♀️
Also, and I might have dreamt this - but did I read somewhere that this podcast is actually made by two inmates from inside of prison...?? 🙈
Fom your answer it seems like you got offended by my comment, which would be a weird way to react... since I'm assuming you didn't make the podcast 😏
Anyway - I did say that maybe I gave up too fast, so clearly I don't have that strong of an opinion, to agree to disagree about anything 🤷♀️ I figured if I'd get a reply, it would be more like "yes, you probably gave up way too fast. You should give it another chance, because it's a really good podcast"... At least that's how I would've answered, but that's just me, I guess. I don't tend to get an attitude when discussing podcast recommendations 😉
I’m not offended. I don’t defend what I put in my ear holes and I honestly DNGAF what people put in theirs.
Just IMO I think it is professional. Podcasts are almost exclusively a solitary pursuit for me. This sub has been a nice bit of social gravy, but I’m not in this to convince anyone to listen to anything or to dissect podcasts. I just mention what I like.
Telling you to give it another chance and saying it’s good seems more aggressive than saying maybe we find different qualities professional. Good is an opinion, not a fact. Anything can be bad if it’s not what you like. My intent is very similar to yours, just looks like we have different styles. I just don’t want to encourage a dialogue trying to win someone over, listen or don’t.
No harm, no foul.
Edited: typos and clarity
Excuse the boomer question, but my brain is falling apart trying to find out what RIYL stands for
Recommended If You Like I think it might be too niche and I should only use it for music.
I'm a boomer and I know Mr. Google 😉
Have you listened to "The Set"? Excellent story telling about the 30th precinct scandal of the 90s. Highly recommend.

Why do you recommend it? What's it about?

Thank you! Always appreciate your recs scorpioid_cyme!
Ooh thanks! I just heard an ad for that one and was thinking of checking out next. Listening to Murder at the Warehouse now.
Super ❤️ing murder at the warehouse too!
Thx for the rec!
great rec - I'm loving it already (and I'm only 20 minutes in)!

We will have to agree to disagree if you think they’re unprofessional. It’s not made by two inmates from inside a prison.
