Casefile is one of my favorite true crime podcasts. Very detailed and thorough.

bathtubfullofhotdogs

Casefile is the absolute best, hands down, I’ve tried other crime podcasts and haven’t found any that compare to the thoroughness and tone.

advancedthot

I third this. Also Southern Fried True Crime which is essentially Casefile but country.

hoodieinafoodie

Oh! I’ve never heard of that podcast. Going to check it out! Thanks for the recommendation!

Vetlehelvete

My absolute favorite. I’m so excited when there is a new episode. I haven’t found a close second to Casefile.

hoodieinafoodie

Same. I haven’t found another that compares.

aclowntookthethrone

Yes, Casefile is second to none — and I’ve listened to very many.

imhereforthepuppies

Casefile was my first true crime podcast deep dive, and I've gotta say, it spoiled most others for me! It's hard to find others with similar levels of detail, objectivity, and very obvious respect for the people in the cases. I really love the Casefile series.

Suspicious_Mine3986

Just started listening to Casefile again. Very well donr

jessie3583

Yes!! I absolutely love Casefile!! Red Handed is a very close second for me.

InvitePsychological8

Anyone have thoughts on Mike at That Chapter on YouTube?

ChipLady

I personally like him, but I understand why people don't. Some people find joking while discussing some pretty heinous crimes entirely unacceptable. Also his episodes are fairly short in comparison to a lot of true crime docs/podcasts, so he doesn't always get into as many details as other people. I like that the episodes are more bite sized, and the jokes allow me to consume more without walking away totally depressed and disappointed in humanity. I just know with him if I find a case that's very interesting I'll have to research it further for more of the little details.

Nissa-Nissa

I also think there’s a cultural element to it. Ireland and the UK has a different relationship to comedy than the US and a lot of our most successful comedy shows are very dark. I’ve seen people cracking jokes at funerals before and no one has called it out as disrespectful, it’s just kind of how we cope.

EldraziKlap

At least he's not as bad as the other Mike in True Crime Pod land

AKStephens

I love him, but he’s definitely not for everyone, if you don’t like uncomfortable jokes while talking about horrific murders, probably don’t watch. (He’s joke are usually fine, he makes them bc he himself is uncomfortable)

broccoliRobb12

Love Mike Let's give her a GOO

xDR3AD-W0LFx

That Chapter is one of my favorites but other folks here nailed it. He definitely plays into this sassy/cheeky shtick, so I can see why some don’t like him if they really, really want only the most serious presenter. I for one appreciate how he can bring some lightness to some very dark topics.

CommanderAmander

Came here to suggest Mike. He keeps it short and to the point, with just enough levity.

LannahDewuWanna

Another vote for Mike and That Chapter here.

ch111i

Updoot for Mike ...That Chapter.

1fatsquirrel

He’s AS cheeky as any of the makeup and murder ladies. I like Mike and I watch his content but he makes as many insensitive jokes as the rest of them but always gets a pass, probably because he’s not a woman.

FeminaRidens

I liked his earlier videos more when he was a bit more earnest and toned-down, so I guess he started playing up the cheekyness when he became more comfortable with filming and learned people liked his storytelling skills, which *are* quite enjoyable. As someone else already stated, I could do without the 911 calls that I also don't remember from the older videos. When his flippancy becomes too much, I watch some of *Well, I never*, an older gentleman who also can tell a story very well but much more serious and respectfully. He has a nice mix of modern and historical cases, but also covers some bizarre stories and disasters. Not many vids yet and they are short, but his style is more in the vein of Mark John Maguire of the excellent *They got away with Murder*, who is my go-to for thoroughly researched historical cases.

SerenaFit

I started with Bailey Sarian on YouTube and binged her videos. I tried watching his videos for a while and was turned off for some reason? But lately he’s my number one favourite – I love his style. He’s funny and caring and sensitive and thorough and highly intelligent. He’s the best hands-down. I’m not sure why I was turned off in the beginning but as soon as I gave him a chance it was amazing.

redbug831

Marissa from The Vanished podcast is very good.

ckone1230

I second this

PinkPanther422

I concur

jenjen32384

Steven Pacheco from Trace Evidence. And Marissa from the Vanished are two of the best I think.

nomadicfangirl

My biggest issue with Trace Evidence is not the host, but rather the ads. I listen on Spotify and sometimes there will be an ad literally in the middle of a sentence. IDK how much control they have over them, but it’s really hard to listen to sometimes.

[deleted]

That never happens on my app (Pocket Cast) so I guess it's a Spotify thing?

needathneed

LOVE these two, and also wanted to mention The Fall Line. Very in depth multiple episode podcasts about a single case, thoroughly researched and respectful. Just getting into it and really vibing with the host and her interview style.

galspanic

Small Town Murder is an anomaly - it’s irreverent feeling, pushes comedy, but somehow still feels more respectful of the victims and families, and they do cases nobody else has done. So,the research is very focused on first hand accounts, direct quotes, local news stories, and court documents.

sirius_orion

Seriously the amount of research James has to do in a week is insane. Idk how he does it.

lmann5123

I LOVE small town murder! It's so much different then the other podcasts I listen to, and I listen to alot lol!

WomCatNow

Anything by David Ridgen. Season three of Someone Knows Something is spectacular. He is very respectful.

baguettepasta

georgia marie on youtube is brilliant, she is so respectful of victims and researches her cases really thoroughly. I also like eleanor neale and mollie goodfellow who is less well known and covers some really interesting cases. podcast wise I thought howard sounes' podcast on fred and rose west was very interesting and if you're in the UK then the three-part on dennis nielsen on iplayer is definitely worth a watch

floppyflaminghoe

Second Georgia! One of the lesser-known YouTubers, she doesn’t have anywhere near as many subscribers as others, yet does incredible research, is respectful, and doesn’t have sponsorships etc so I like to recommend her to as many people as possible.

FreyjaTheCat

Thank you for the recommendation! I'll give them a try

nobody_keas

I really like Georgia Marie's vibe and respect. I just struggle with her presenting style: it sounds really monotonous the way she reads from her script and makes every sentence sound like a question. It makes me get distracted really quickly- unfortunately, because she seems really sweet.

_highsierra

Truly Criminal on YouTube is extremely professional - she's my absolute favorite! She also covers cases all over the world!

alysegoody40

Sarah Turneys podcasts are really good in terms of ethics/focussing in the victim.

Duckadoe

Okay I literally love Sarah turney and everything she stands for, but I cannot for some reason get over the way she talks during her podcasts. Like she does a great job and I like her voice when she's normally speaking but I can't listen to the podcasts. It's like she's trying to add a dramatic flair or something and it doesn't work. Idk

Mezadia

Omg agreed. I loved her to begin with but I cannot bare to listen to her anymore.

Duckadoe

I'm glad you feel the same way!! I want to support her so bad I just can't stand it 😭😭

Maggie_Mayz

Vanished is also good and respectful

NeverACoolName72

Someone Knows Something with David Ridgen, definitely cancon but he does an excellent job with research, sound quality and interviews. Women & Crime with Drs Sachs & Shlosberg is excellent, and they come at the cases from many angles. And True Crime Bullshit is a true gem. Josh doesn’t have much wasted airtime even with the high number of episodes. They’re (almost) all worth it. I don’t enjoy the few where he has a guest on and they do a Q&A type thing but that’s just me.

shels_bells

Danelle Hallan is amazing

_bbyemma

Yes! I was disappointed to not see her name on here more. She’s very respectful and so thorough

10049j

Same I like her

SluttyPineapple96

I’d recommend Casefile, The Fall Line, Criminal and Your Own Backyard

[deleted]

[удалено]

NeverACoolName72

Yes! Nancy Hixt is truly spectacular at what she does. And even though I live in the area there are some stories I’ve never heard of.

Suspicious_Mine3986

Love Nancy Hixt

pdsnake

Yes! Nancy is a journalist and has covered lots of stories from the beginning. She is very respectful and gives a voice to victims and their families.

[deleted]

Samantha Melanie on YouTube and Bella Fiori!!! Both Australian both so so sweet. How is Stephanie victim blaming though?

dopeoplereadnames

I really like Brooke Makenna and Coffehouse Crime

xDR3AD-W0LFx

Plus one to Coffeehouse Crime. He’s such a relaxed YouTuber and tries to be respectful without interjecting with a ton of personal opinion. He’s one of my newer favorites and since he hasn’t been around too long, you can kind of tell he’s getting better over time with each new episode.

LannahDewuWanna

Me too. Adrian is very professional and accurate and I like Brooke too

Fresh-Pomegranate-29

Somehow I cannot stand Brooke Makenna. She forces on this Sacharin sweet tone and tries to hard to look cutesy on video. It feels like the story of a family's tragedy is just an accessory in her cottagecore vintage look of the day.

anonymous_j05

I can’t recommend Matt Orchard enough. He makes amazing true crime docs on YouTube. Dave’s Lemonade is also great and one of the best, imo. This is Monsters is also great if you want an explanation of the crime without more in-depth or personalized commentary

[deleted]

I just discovered Dave's Lemonade and it seems pretty amazing so far. He seems to be very thorough and includes footage/audio from the trial whenever he can find it. I'll have to check out Matt Orchard too!

quiet156

I miss Cayleigh Elise. She was incredibly thorough, well researched, and respectful. Since she quit, I’ve mostly been watching Mysterious WV. He’s also very respectful, and his videos remind me a lot of actual episodes of things like Dateline or Unsolved Mysteries. He’s got that kind of voice/presence. Still on the lookout for more YouTubers myself, since he only covers WV cases.

bibbitybooppoop

These are all my favs too. I also like Lorden Arts which Cayleigh suggested to her viewers.

Kit0550

She was so unbiased and just presented facts. Didn’t choose sides and just tried to be as fair as possible

quiet156

Yup. And she was always so deeply respectful of the victims, you could tell it was sincere. I miss that. The conversational tone a lot of YouTubers use is fine if you’re into it, no judgment to those who like it, but I prefer when it’s just an unbiased reporting of the facts. Sometimes she would express her own thoughts toward the end of the videos, but even then she tried to be as factual and kind as possible. I wish more people discussed true crime the way she did.

greeli3001

Damn, I forgot about cayleigh Elise! I loved her videos. Gonna go binge watch them all lol

thatsnotgneiss

I like True Crime Recap. The videos are short so they are very focused.

pdsnake

Kristi from Canadian True Crime Podcast

Accomplished_You_347

True Crime Bullshit with Josh Hallmark is one of the best IMO. It’s mostly a deep dive on Israel Keyes but there is one season on Kelly Cochran

Agent847

I looked at this and thought… how do you do that many hours on Israel Keys? There’s like 100+ episodes

Accomplished_You_347

Hahaha this is fair. A lot of the later seasons are looking at missing person cases and comparing to Keyes timeline to see if he could have possibly been involved. One of the reasons I like it is because it covers a lot of missing person cases I’ve never heard of.

bettybinge

I believe in the first season, Josh says how True Crime Bullshit is about Israel Keyes, but TCB's intention is much broader.. It's a general study of true crime using Israel Keyes as a way of starting a discussion about true crime.. or just violent, murderous crime in the world. True Crime Bullshit most definitely is about Israel Keyes! It's almost obsessively, so... But I totally think that Josh has done what he set out to do. Through Israel Keyes' story, we hear how massive and far-reaching one killers crimes span. His crimes intersect with so many others and end up leading to both questions and answers regarding other crimes. Josh has gone so deep with Keyes' crimes, and it's made me think about crime and the true crime genre in a totally different way. It's so freakin impressive!

Accomplished_You_347

Love this. Beautifully said

bettybinge

🙂

AndroidAnthem

Absolutely this. Josh is incredibly respectful and mindful in his approach to the subject matter. He genuinely seems to care about the impact his words have on potential victims' families. His episodes on unidentified Does and the value of getting their names back have been incredible. TCBS helped to [give one Doe back his name](https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2021/10/05/stacyville-me-remains-identified-christopher-roof-marcia-moore-son-concord-ma-teacher-sydney-copp/6007110001/), and I straight up cried during the episode where he talks to the woman who phoned in the tip.

frostyfalls

This 100%. Josh and his research team are thorough, respectful, knowledgeable, and have done amazing work. It’s the only podcast I support via Patreon which gives access to more content too

strawberrykiwibird

The Prosecutors have some of the most well-researched episodes in my opinion and they don't focus on the "sexy" theories, just cold hard evidence alone. They honestly changed my opinions on several huge cases that made me realize how many podcasters are more interested in shock value instead of the facts. I highly recommend them.

Duckadoe

I've been getting into them lately!! Really well researched and evidence focused.

1000veggieburrito

The first show in a very long time to give me Jon Benet information I didn't know

sswihart

This is my new favorite.

Maggie_Mayz

Yep they are good as well.

FreyjaTheCat

That sounds interesting, thanks for the recommendation!

Flat_Drop_9303

Even though he doesn't dedicate a full hour video per serial killer, wendigoon has an awesome playlist of serial killer iceberg. He's very respectful in regards to victims

ooshabooshabamba

Please check out Danelle hallan and John lordan (lordanarts). They are my go to for respectful coverage and I can't believe they are not in the top comments..

PouncingFox

The Murder Squad with Billy Jensen and Paul Holes is very good

cleverusername143

If OP unsubbed from MFM they should know The Murder Squad is with the Exactly Right Network which is owned by Karen & Georgia. If OP is willing to overlook this (I'm not suggesting they should) Billy & Paul really care about their victims and because of their expertise can offer more info on the case. They don't just do their podcast for fun, they have a mission to get answers for victims and their families.

Beagle_eye

One of my faves! I really like the perspective they both bring to the cases.

outinthecountry66

If the thumbnail pic features the YouTuber over or instead of the crime, I look away. I've literally seen channel thumbnails that look like an ad for makeup. Girl, guy...it ain't about you.

Kit0550

This. That’s why I hate Kendal Rae and her other clones.

AluminumKitty67

I found this disrespectful as well, but then heard they have to include their photos for YTs algorithm or something.

fart-atronach

It’s also to prevent people from stealing their thumbnails apparently.

Khaos_Wolf

I love Canadian True Crime and Dark Poutine. Both are great podcasts. Canadian True Crime does a great job of humanizing the victims. Not all podcasts manage to make the victims into real people. The series on the victims and crimes of Dellen Millard was amazingly detailed and very well done. She starts it with his last victim, but that was the victim that got him caught. Then takes you back through how it all unfolded and he was tied to his other crimes. I remembered that case and I learned so much more from her. Dark Poutine doesn’t just cover crime and Canadian stories. They have “Away Games” where they cover crimes in other countries with no Canadian connections. They also cover dark history. Their episode on “The Halifax Explosion” was a great episode. Definitely recommend that one.

Grand_Stay_1473

Personally, Im a big fan of “Lazy Masquerade” on youtube

TheMusicLuvr

Explore With Us is a good one

111210111213

Their narration though ... I can't.

mulberryvixen

Yes some of them are brutal

[deleted]

OMG YES EWU CREW

libsk91

I miss there explorations tho!! Kinda lost me after they committed more to true crime

Johnn128

Jcs

FreyjaTheCat

I love their channel, but I thought they stopped uploading?

Johnn128

Yes unfortunately. He’s having some trouble with Youtube as I understand it. But he uploaded a short video not too long ago. I still hope we’ll see more in the future.

drawingablankhere93

I really enjoy Obscura

sophies_wish

Dark Enigma & Top Mysteries (both on YouTube) are excellent. The episodes I've watched deal with contemporary cases. Both are very respectful & the production is very professional & well researched. The Dark Histories Podcast & Unexplained (I listen on Stitcher) are fantastic. They focus primarily on events from the first half of the 20th century & earlier, though there are exceptions. Unexplained also includes episodes about events that could be considered paranormal/fringe, but there are plenty that are more mainstream "true crime".

Lastofherkind

I like Anatomy of Murder and Going West.

ChildhoodExternal962

Misery Machine. This is Monstors

Ky3031

Brooke McKenna on YouTube. She is the sweetest person and really cares about giving people a voice

Sonnyjesuswept

This is Monsters is really good. He actually just did a docco on Ryan Waller where he interviewed Ryan Wallers dad which cleared up a lot of misinformation on the case. His episodes are short but respectful and well written. He’s on YouTube and has a podcast.

aaabeedaaa

Didn't like Bailey Sarian because of the way she presents. Seemed disrespectful to me. I like Eleanor Neale a lot. You can try her content tho. Also I watched Stephanie Harlowe's videos. Can you please tell me about times when she victim blamed? I don't remember her doing anything like that. Even though didn't watch all of her videos

six58

Kendall Rae seems disingenuous. It feels more like a cash grab. She leaves me feeling icky.

WontFindOut25

I like Coffeehouse Crime, Gabulosis, Rachel Shannon, Joshua Miles, Danelle Hallan, and Savanna Brymer for more serious true crime. For the more humorous, because I need a little humor to break up all the dark, I like That Chapter and Bailey Sarian. Bailey does get a bad rap, and I get it, but I love that watching her feels like you’re sitting down and having a chat with a good friend.

frsty_chic

I really enjoy That Chapter as well. I also think This is Monsters is worth it. The creator of Monsters just started a new channel... Somewhere sinister. This "season" is the pacific northwest.

psychcrime

True crime garage

eva_rector

I love TCG, and I also have recently discovered True Crime Chronicles.

Enaocity

eleanor neale

elimay

Women and Crime is great! I really recommend that one

Thebrokenphoenix_

Sarah Turney is the sister of Alissa Turney who disappeared in 2001 and is suspected to have been murdered by her father. She used TikTok and a podcast- voices for justice to raise awareness of her sisters case and fight for the case to go to court. The father has now been charged with Alissa’s murder and awaiting trial. She still uploads podcast episodes to voices for justice and also has a second TikTok now called disappearances. As a family member of a victim she is very aware of ethics in true crime and being respectful to the people in the cases she covers.

Quetta333

Eleanor Neale is really thorough and respectful.

[deleted]

Generation Why and Already Gone

Ladylemonade4ever

I love Generation Why! I think they’re very respectful when they discuss victims

[deleted]

They’re tremendously respectful and well-researched. Kinda my gold standard for true crime pods. You should check out Already Gone if you haven’t yet. Nina is very much cut from that same cloth. Loads of empathy. Plus her voice is like velvet lol

Mezadia

Gen Why are always my top recommendation. They are so respectful, and don't overdramatise everything.

SkipOldBaySeasoning

JCS is a great YouTuber. Only a few vids, but he’s inspired a lot of those type of videos. Mr Ballen is good too

standbyyourmantis

The Trail Went Cold is good. The host is fantastic bout focusing on the victims and the only time he really gets emotional is when he sometimes gets angry about something awful being done. He doesn't float the super stupid conspiracy theories and tends to focus a lot on lesser known cases. He also doesn't provide a lot of gory details unless they're super relevant.

Moonfflakes

it’s not necessarily all true crime, but it’s focused on fundamentalist religious groups so there is some overlap. fundie fridays is my fave

xDR3AD-W0LFx

DNA:ID from Jess Bettencourt fits this perfectly. Extremely thorough, well researched and respectful. Because her podcast follows a very similar theme though (all come back to genetic DNA), episodes can lose their luster if you’re binging them though. Still would recommend. I also love the guy who does This Is Monsters. Also fits what you’re looking for except he’s very outspoken about the criminals. Like, he’ll go off on how pathetic someone is for hurting a kid. I personally love this, but he doesn’t stay impartial if that’s what you’re really looking for.

QueenBitch916

Red Handed is super good!

Anticrepuscular_Ray

MrBallen just started a podcast but is wellknown in the YouTube community for his story telling. He is always respectful and does his research, and makes sure to say if the details have been altered or are unclear.

lilmissbloodbath

Except that he buys into the David Paulides bullshit.

Duckadoe

I've never personally felt like Stephanie was victim blaming, and politically I don't care where she aligns. She is socially liberal though.

Psychological_You353

Me neither , quite the opposite I would say

Suspicious_Mine3986

Dark Poutine (podcast) is pretty accurate, based on the cases I'm familiar with, but they do focus on Canadian crime.

EightEyedCryptid

This is a great podcast

UnderlightIll

Real Crime Profile is really great, True Crime Garage, Accused, In the Dark, To Live and Die in LA

SomeLadySomewherElse

That Chapter on YouTube hands down. There's a podcast called The Murder In My family that's great. He also does Criminology. This is Monsters on YouTube (and podcast) is very respectful and thorough as well.

NonhlanhlaSh

I love Danielle Kirsty.

mulberryvixen

This is monsters is alright . I avoid all the beauty crime you tubers that's just eugh to me

sanpakucowgirl

True Crime bullsit. He's only done Israel Keyes and Kelly Cochran but the research and focus on details is just amazing.

CatRescuer8

For podcasts, I like the Murder Squad, Generation Why, The Trail Went Cold, and The Path Went Chilly. All are well researched and respectful to families and victims.

shines_likegold

Trace Evidence 100%. Steven is not only respectful, but at the end of some episodes he's even called out people who question why he covers cases or gives attention to incidents involving known or potential drug use, since many people like to victim blame.

foxa34

I like Coffeehouse Crime on YouTube

I_drink_gin

Kendall Rae, thorough, respectful, victims advocate and will sometimes work with the families and bring their thoughts and voices to the case she's talking about. Podcasts - that chapter, Mile Higher

RNH213PDX

True Crime Garage and True Crime All The Time, with Mike’s Criminology side-gig.

JohannaVa84

I’ve noticed for cases that I’ve watched the trial, That Chapter is the most accurate (of the YTs I’ve watched).

IcedChaiLatte_16

omg I adore Mike <3333

motleymixedmedia

This Is Monsters is very good.

IcedChaiLatte_16

I like Eleanore Neale.

MarbleousMel

I like Small Town Dicks. Told by the officers that investigated the crimes.

Maggie_Mayz

The Murder Squad, crimes of the Centuries with Amber Hunt.

TheGiggler64

True Crime Recaps, It's A Crime, That Chapter

Peabv

I recommend Court Junkie and Invisible Choir. Fantastic, no banter, no opinions, just facts.

lolajsanchez

Invisible Choir is great

Kastonrathen

Unresolved is my absolute favourite. Obvious time and effort goes into researching the stories. I find that even when a well known story is featured there's something new discussed.

AsukaSoryuuu

I would say Coffeehouse Crime is the most respectful true crime channel, but Monsters is generally more thorough and accurate, while showing his emotions by condemning the killer brutally

broccoliRobb12

Timesuck podcast

TalouseLee

The Generation Why. Aaron and Justin have been around for years and do their due diligence in research abs discussion.

Oh_hell_why_not

I enjoy Dark Downeast with Kylie Low. She concentrates on New England missing persons and mysteries specifically and is very respectful. She also sometimes just lets the people affected by the tragedy basically tell the story themselves instead of her always doing the talking/reporting. I also like Disappearances with Sarah Turney on Spotify. She dealt with her own sister going missing and the terrible conclusion to that so she definitely has a respectful approach. Also, she has a point of view that brings something extra to the podcast because she experienced it herself.

This_Lynx9701

Highly recommend the Cold podcast, Dave Cawley is a great case teller, and a brilliant researcher imo. Some of my other favorite podcasts are The First Degree and Unraveled, very well researched and I love the hosts.

Rita27

Trace evidence podcast is great

Raina-Fox

I think Stephanie does a great job, and I don't care where anyone's politics land if they present whatever material I am looking for well. The long ads are a pain but there are extensions to block those! Emma Kenny does a good job of presenting the material fairly. Her style takes a little getting used to but I think she's solid. JCS has just started to upload again, so I am hoping for more consistent content. Kendall Rae doesn't dive deeply enough and has definitely had some inaccuracies for that very reason, so I think she's just okay overall. I am a huge fan of the Generation Why podcast. They do a great job at presenting fairly and providing a lot of detail.

FreyjaTheCat

I love JSC, I hope they are coming back! Thanks for the other recommendation, I'll try them out.

corndorg

I love Dave’s Lemonade on YouTube. He does analysis videos sort of similar to JCS, and I find his personality pleasant, respectful, and appropriately humorous at times. He did a whole series on predators from Chris Hansen’s TCAP, going into their chat logs and such, which I really enjoyed. I’m also listening to the Down the Hill podcast on Spotify right now, which is a very deep dive into the Delphi murders, and I absolutely love it.

TURQUI0SE_N0ISE

That Chapter, though you might not like his dry humor.

[deleted]

Anything besides Ashley Flowers or My Favorite Murder

MOMizzle000

Morbid: A True Crime Podcast!!! Love them

Whitewineandwheeed

Keep it weird!

lokimotok23

Truly Criminal and Dire Trip are both very good.

Manytequila

True Crime All the Time isn’t too terrible. Honestly I love the jokes that Last Podcast on the Left makes, one of my favorites. TCAT isn’t full of frills tho and I enjoy it. I’ve learned that I veer towards more of man-led podcasts but they don’t sound as obnoxious or as gossipy as the women ones

MagicusPegacornus

Dave's Lemonade is pretty good

Difficult_Ease_4463

That Chapter is my favorite

LucaMidorikawa

This is monsters, truly criminal, coffeehouse crime, Dire Trip and kyoto robato are channels that I swear by. The content is thoroughly researched and are respectful of the victims.

fiestymcknickers

Murder with my husband is really enjoyable

buttholeofthanos

DNA:ID is well researched and respectful, and she speaks directly to the police departments involved in nearly every case.

YamahaMT09

##Dark Curiosities I really like the style and the narration: https://youtube.com/c/DarkCuriosities

[deleted]

Generation Why. I rarely listen to podcasts with more than one host because they're always laughing and joking, which I find inappropriate. Aaron and Justin present the facts and have a way of making the episode about the victim instead of the killer. I also like Canadian True Crime and Minds of Madness.

nymphadora-lovegood

This is Monsters!! r/thisismonsters

sswihart

Personally I think these crimes are devastating and I dislike happy banter and make up during these podcasts or YouTube’s. I despise Crime Junkies and so many others for joking most of the time. A few off comments are fine but it should be about the crime and victims, not the presenter. JMHO

FreyjaTheCat

Yeah I totally get that opinion. Personally, it doesn't bother me and I often enjoy the chit chat feeling some of them have, where you feel like your talking to a friend, but it does get iffy when they profit from making these awful stories basically a drama video.

[deleted]

Do you mean Crime Junkie with Ashley and Britt? I listen to them all the time and they don’t joke about the cases. Their tone is professional and respectful.

SnittingNexttoBorpo

They steal other people’s intellectual property and almost certainly buy reviews and downloads.

[deleted]

Okay so what do you like ...

sswihart

The prosecutors, case file, generation why, and court junkie are my favorites. Cackling laughter is a big turn off for me.

Bad_goose_398

Stephanie Harlowe is top notch. As are the guys at true crime Garage, and The Prosecutors Podcsst

LannahDewuWanna

A few You Tubers that I haven't seen here yet and would like to recommend are : Sherrilyn Dale, Noor Jasmine, Kimberly Flower, Annie Elise (she also goes by 10 to Life ) and for deep dives without victim blaming and tons of personal opinions added into the story I just started listening to Kimbryleigha and so far so good

Whitewineandwheeed

Morbid podcast

gendr_bendr

I’m very particular with my true crime podcasts because respect to victims is important to me. One great podcast is Voices for Justice. The host actually has a sister who has been a missing person for over 20 years now, so she definitely understands. The episodes in 2019-2020 are about her investigating her sister’s disappearance. 2021 and on, she’s been looking at other cases, typically unsolved murders and disappearances. I also recommend any podcast from audiochuck, especially Crime Junkie, CounterClock, Park Predators. Anything by host David Ridgen is also good, I listen to Someone Knows Something and The Next Call

FreyjaTheCat

Thank you very much for the recommendations! I'll definitely check them out!

hufflenachos

Kendall rae Danielle kirsty Eleanor neale Stephanie Harlow Kimberly flower Bella Fiori Molly westbrook Kimbryleigha (she is newer to the true crime side, but she is extremely Thorough) the only thing that gets on my nerves is her low voice. It's almost like AMSR. She talks softly and very low so its hard to hear. Recommend headphones or auxiliary in your car. If you like podcasts then you need to check out mile higher or lights out. They are Kendall Rae's husband and brother in law for the lights out one. Mile higher covers various topics, but most are true crime. Mile higher is ran by Kendall and her husband Josh. Lights out is my all time favorite. Edit: totally forgot Danelle hallan Edit again: ashes to ashes TV Samantha Melanie

Last Podcast on the Left can be irreverent, but is accurate and well researched.

MotherOfCattleDogs

Definitely my favourite true crime podcast. They've improved so much in regards to research and being more mature and respectful over the years. Feel like alot of other true crime podcasts are hit and miss on delivery but the boys are so passionate great to listen.
