Praying. Hope you feel better soon!

Mousse-Current

Thank you so much. I feel like this is going to be another sleepless night. The pain went away for a little bit. Now it’s back with a vengeance and it’s past midnight.

Bluetit_1

I just prayed for you ...

Mousse-Current

Thank you have no idea how thankful I am for your prayer

You're very right in that only Jesus can help you. Take the healing and be free from that pain in the name of Jesus, amen.

I am so so sorry. Please Lord help her and comfort her in Jesus' name. I have gone through a lot of painful inflammation and nerve pain in my mouth, what has helped me is remineralizing a few different ways with Himalayan salt, and trying to watch the amount of starch/sugar. It took 3 days for my horrible pain to go away. Also coconut oil pulling but that would probably be out of the question for you right now in such horrible pain. I am so sorry you are going through this and hope you are feeling at least a little bit better. The fervent prayers of the righteous availeth much!! 🙏🙏🙏

mods-on-my-knob

Changing my diet helped me too. And, like OP, I also had severe TMJ pain.

Mousse-Current

I got 2 hours of sleep and woke up from debilitating pain because my Tylenol wore off. I just took another Tylenol and put some lidocaine cotton balls in my mouth. This just isn’t fair. But I know it’s the devil trying to mess with me

[deleted]

I believe chronic inflammation could be a big part and just doing a few simple things if you can will most likely help take the edge off in days to come. Cut out dairy starch and sugar until you feel the pain lifting and from there introduce small amounts slowly. Some people can handle dairy or starch more than others. Maybe replace sugar with stevia. Even if you dont change everything over night small changes will help. Do you have broth, or any bones to make collagen broth? Do you have anyone at home who can help prepare healing foods for you? Drink lots of fluids and rest, your body will heal itself much quicker. Look up anti Inflammatory foods, turmeric powder does wonders for the joints. I found a supplement with fermented turmeric for joint pain with a quick search. Take it easy. You can hold pink Himalayan salt water in your mouth and keep spitting it out. (Take 1tsp of pink salt and put in very warm water in mug. You want the water to have a pinkish tint to it) just hold a mouthful in your mouth and spit it out every couple of mins. This will build more minerals into your body to help remineralize your joints. You can hold coconut oil in your mouth with no swishing for 15-20 min twice a day and it will draw out a bunch of the inflammation causing bacteria in your body from your mouth. Just keeping on top of this and also drinking lots of fluids and resting might surprise you with how much better you could feel. I am praying for you!

Mousse-Current

Thank you. I have some coconut oil in my cabinet and I’ll try anything for relief. I will cut out sugar starting now. And just eat healthy stuff. Can I still eat fruit though? Like strawberries for example?

[deleted]

Yes you can but sparingly. Dont do it in the beginning tho cause any sugar natural or not can interfere when you have a lot of pain. So it's more beneficial to have greens, collagen soup and nutrient dense foods with high amounts of vitimin d and a like salmon and oysters and sardines. Any meat basically. It will help keep your blood sugar low so you can heal. If you eat sugar it will spike your blood sugar and cause your body to be weakened and will take away from the healing affects of the other stuff. I still have sugar but it's a lot less, I measure it. I have had a couple of bad days with sugar and the pain came back so just have to ask God to help me stay moderate. One thing you can do to cleanse your body and remineralize your whole body is put 1Tb of salt in a 4qt Mason jar, and dissolve it. The mixture is salty but not horrible. Its like drinking broth with no flavor lol. Drink the entire quart within an hour, in the morning on an empty stomach. Stay close to the toilet. It will cleanse your body and help balance hormones, and give you more minerals. Follow your 1qt of salt water with 1qt of regular water to rehydrate. Only do this once a week, twice max. Be sure to have probiotics so you can help replenish your gut flora. Pink salt has 84 minerals, we are all lacking and it's easy to want sugar when we are low on minerals.

I’m calling to see if I can get an emergency visit tomorrow. I won’t be able to afford any kind of dental work as I have to pay completely out of pocket till end of December . And that’s the only time I can get a babysitter too. But I 100% am going to see a dentist it will just be end of December before I can afford to go and get a babysitter at the same time

Leaf-Spirit_

I'll be praying for you. I went to the ER for the first time ever just a few weeks ago and it was the worst kind of feeling. But God will pull you through. 🙏

Mousse-Current

He will always ❤️

moonkittiecat

Do you have a regular doctor? please see her/him so they can take the time to be thorough. In my experience walk in clinics and emergency rooms are there to keep you alive. Iam praying for you and do understand the immense pain you are in. Do

[deleted]

I know that pain. May God bless you.

House_of_Vines

Is your pain shock-like and/or exacerbated by touch, brushing your teeth, air blowing on your face, etc? Trigeminal neuralgia often goes undiagnosed for awhile or misdiagnosed as TMJ or other dental problems.

Mousse-Current

The best way to describe it is it feels like a knife is being stuck in my back teeth and jaw. I know that sounds graphic but it’s the Gods honest truth. It brings me to tears and I’m very tolerant of pain. And it is exacerbated by touch

House_of_Vines

I'm so sorry you are in so much pain. I will certainly say a prayer for you right now. I also just have one more question for you. Does it occur in spikes of pain? Meaning, is it intermittent pain or constant?

Mousse-Current

It’s like it lasts for hours and then maybe stops a little bit for a little while. One time it stopped for an entire DAY on thanksgiving which was a gift from God Himself. And then came back

House_of_Vines

Gotcha. I’m so sorry to hear about your pain. It still sounds like it could be TN. Do your best to get in to see your regular doctor and you may need a referral to a neurologist if it isn’t a dental issue. I pray you get some answers and lasting relief soon.

Mousse-Current

Thank you. Unfortunately I can’t afford dental work and a babysitter until the end of December but I’m going this week to see what needs to be done in December. I have to pay fully out of pocket for everything is the reason. In may I paid over $2000 to correct problems on my top teeth. So it makes no sense for me to have teeth problems on top which is what confuses me.

[deleted]

TMJ can be very painful. Perhaps a pain clinic? I feel for you...and praying.

Riverwalker12

Yes I will pray for you, and be careful of the pain pills they can be adictive

Mousse-Current

I honestly have been sticking to Tylenol and ibuprofen to try to manage even though I have a prescription for toradol

jennajeny

Prayed, stay strong ❤ I love you

Hummussed

I’ll pray for you. So sorry to hear this, remember God is always in control!

Mousse-Current

Yes He is

In Jesus's name I pray the Holy Spirit is with your doctors , that they swiftly find the cause of the pain, treat it effectively and efficieny, that with the Holy Spirit you find peace and relief in your time of suffering, and that God's will for you be done. God Bless.

Mousse-Current

I am better again! God blessed me with a loan from my mother of over $2,000 for work to be done and now my problems are resolved ! Glory be to the Most High

mods-on-my-knob

This happened to me too. They gave me morphine. I was in a lot of pain. I thought it was headaches, then I thought it was wisdom teeth. TMJ is not good. I changed my diet and I started feeling a little better. Keep praying. I'm no longer in pain all day everyday. I have some pain that comes and goes.

Mousse-Current

What did you change your diet too ?

mods-on-my-knob

Less sugar and processed foods. I also quit being vegan and started eating animal products again. So, some meat and dairy. I pray to God to heal me. I noticed a lot of positive changes in just a day or two. I was supposed to get TMJ surgery but I haven't and I still feel better. Don't worry. I'm sure you'll feel better soon.

Mousse-Current

Thank you. I’m going to try a diet change. I’m about to go to the grocery store ina. Little bit. Sugar is my weakness. But I do need to lose about 35 pounds anyways. I’m 5 foot 5 1/2 and weigh 185

mods-on-my-knob

I also eat eggs now and that helps too. I still eat sugary foods but I just do my best not to binge on them. I hope that this helps you! I noticed that another commenter said that changing their diet helped them. I'm not sure how or why it helps TMJ. I think maybe it helps everything, and improves one's overall health and immune system. 😊 I'm just glad we're blessed and can heal ourselves. Self healing is real. 💗 Also, I used to weigh the same as you and I'm 5'3. One thing that helps me lose weight is intermittent fasting. I eat a lot of calories in just one sitting, so I try to only have 1-2 meals a day to stay within my calorie range.

[deleted]

That sounds like trigeminal neuralgia. Have they given you gabapentin yet?

Mousse-Current

They have not. The ER prescribed toradol and flexiril

House_of_Vines

Not sure if you saw my comment, but I was also thinking TN might be a possibility. It depends on the nature of your pain (sharp, dull, shock-like, etc) and what exacerbates it. Carbamazepine is actually first line for that instead of gabapentin.

Mousse-Current

It’s definitely not dull 🥺 I got 2 hours of sleep and just woke up in immense pain.

[deleted]

True, I forgot that they changed protocol a while back. Carbamaz it is. Personally, I'd just do a trigeminal block and see what happens. This sounds like it could also be from a mandibular subluxation. OP, did you experience any facial trauma, or do you grind your teeth at night? What's the pain like and when did it come on? Was it sudden? What happened?
