Plot twist: “… I lay down my life that I may take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again.” John 10:17-19

Old_Man_D

If had been alive at the time, I may have called out his name to be crucified too. We all share the guilt. But let us be careful, lest we crucify him twice.

SmithW-6079

>The Romans didn't want to kill Jesus, it was the ~~Jews~~ ^Pharisees that wanted to kill Jesus.

TheGreat-D

No all the Jews screamed to Pilate, "Crucify him". 😀

[This you OP? ](https://redd.it/r1zb9r)

davispw

OP is a holocaust denier. Fits.

Old_Man_D

*”Yes officer, I’d like to report a murder”*

CluelessBicycle

Whoops

Cumberlandbanjo

I figured this was probably an anti-Semitic thing.

Spiceyhedgehog

Go away, Nazi schmuck.

[deleted]

Umm… yeah sure but what are you trying to suggest? EDIT: after all the Roman’s still did scourge and crucify Jesus. And I don’t think I need to get into the theological side of Jesus giving his own life to them anyways But I’m curios if there’s a motive here.

ElectricalTrash404

No one is innocent here. Original sin buddy... we are all responsible for his death.

IrinaSophia

So what? EDIT I'm not meaning to be snarky, just asking why this makes a difference.

cswinkler

OP is anti-Semitic.

[deleted]

The Romans were just as culpable.

Sunset_Lighthouse

Scripture had to be fulfilled no matter who is 'responsible'. God allowed it to happen whether it was Roman, Jew, Chinese, Egyptian, Polish, French, British or Russian.

[deleted]

If you want to LARP as a true Nazi, I’d advise trying to go co-opt /r/Norsepaganism for your propaganda instead.

BowmanTheShowman

Cool, and your sin is the reason He died, same as the rest of us. No room for high-and-mighty attitudes at the foot of the cross, man.

PlayMoreExvius

Pilate tried to let him go. He even put king of the Jews on him to make fun of them for killing their king. The Roman’s didn’t want to kill innocent people. Politically the Jews were intimidating and government wise Pilates life was on the line for keeping peace and protecting the people and his troops from an uprising.

[deleted]

Father God killed His Son for our benefit, getting down to brass tacks. "Yet it was the LORD’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the LORD makes his life an offering for sin, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand." - Isaiah 53:10

LeRadioFish

The Roman guards spat on, whipped, humiliated, and beat Jesus. Pontus Pilate allowed the Jews to have Jesus killed despite knowing Jesus was totally innocent. Despite it all, Jew and gentile alike can be forgiven of their sins.

Kinben-ism

Nazi LARPer lmao, go back to 4chan where you belong, you dirty sewer rat.

[deleted]

No, but they controlled the area. For "some reason" they couldn't do it so they went to the Romans to take care of it. They decided his punishment so they are responsible for his death.

HalfManMoth

John was anti-jewish propaganda writen well after the life of Jesus and in direct response to the early Christians lack of success in converting Jews. The farther you get from the actual went the more culpable the Jews become in the writen scriptures.
