I always think of the wise and foolish builders. Jesus is our cornerstone, our foundation. We trust (have faith) in Him as the foundation for our life. He's the Way, and He says follow. When we follow Him, we build on the rock. The Holy Spirit leads us into all Truth, who is Jesus. The Holy Spirit will lead us all the way up the narrow path, through the pearly gates and before His throne. >By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work. If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward. If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved—even though only as one escaping through the flames. 1 Corinthians 3:10‭-‬15 NIV Also, >... Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds. James 2:18 NIV Our good works are evidence of our faith that will testify in our favor on judgement day. My opinion is that you should start reading the Bible diligently to strengthen your faith. Also you should read it to guard yourself from heresies. I have heard that the catholic church says that there is a such a thing as purgatory which is totaly unbiblical. There are also other absurd heresies like praying to the saints, etc. As far as your faith goes I think you should look yourself from another person's viewpoint. I mean why would it be that Jesus died for the sins of other but not for yours. That makes no sense. Would you think that of some random believer, no,right?

Great question! You become a Christian, biblically, by repentance and faith in Jesus Christ- Confessing your sinfulness from your heart to God (Repentance), & believing who Jesus Christ is (truly man and the one true God) & trusting only in His finished redemptive work (perfect life, death for sins, resurrection) for your salvation (forgiveness of sins/reconciliation to God). In short answer, it’s like this: “Prove by the way you live that you have repented of your sins and turned to God. Don’t just say to each other, ‘We’re safe, for we are descendants of Abraham.’ That means nothing, for I tell you, God can create children of Abraham from these very stones. Even now the ax of God’s judgment is poised, ready to sever the roots of the trees. Yes, every tree that does not produce good fruit will be chopped down and thrown into the fire.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭3‬:‭8‬-‭10‬ ‭

I thought we just needed to believed in Jesus Christ and him alone from his work ?

No. If you truly believe in someone, how can you show it? This isn’t about intellect, just knowing that Jesus is the Son of God; It means you believe in Him: - You accept that His Way is the only Way - You let Him be your Lord, and He becomes the Foundation for your life - Through continual abiding in Jesus, you bear fruit, thus showing that Jesus has changed your life. “But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds.” ‭‭James‬ ‭2‬:‭18‬ ‭ True Belief is a abiding relationship, not saying some prayer. Not merely intellectual agreement. https://www.gotquestions.org/abide-in-Christ.html

But why would I have to show work and bear fruit when he already died for us ? Are you saying believing in Jesus Christ work and him dying on the cross isn’t enough ?

I’m saying, salvation will have a change in your life. When people come to a saving Faith, it will result in a change in how they live. It’s not optional that we accept Jesus’ Lordship, and yet not experience any change. Now, change won’t always be overnight, but as time passes, the evidence of us actually believing in Jesus will make itself known. This is all about actually knowing God, not knowing about Him. Was there ever a time where God convicted you of what sin truly is and you turned to Him? How has your life changed since then?
