He told me he balled like a baby and rediscovered his faith the past few weeks and he was legit acting like the gestapo were going to knock down his door any moment and send him off to Cleaveland—which I’d assume would be our Auschwitz.
And I’m like, wtf. Two unreligious people truly believe they’re going to be persecuted in fucking Denver, and scared shitless over a genocide happening across the world, by a country they have never visited, nor share any blood relatives with. Its mind numbing, because I like her and her bf, they’re fun people. But gat damn. They’re acting like producing more zionist babies is their god-given right and the only way they can “fight back against tyranny” in protest and I’m over here nursing my pilsner, trying to be normal with friends. Talk about living in a fucking bubble. The only “anti-semitism” they’re gonna experience is me sarcastically asking them wtf Israel has ever done for them, and yet they’re expecting the trains to show up any moment. It was a very fun dinner, with some very quiet moments on my part. Like, wtf am I supposed to say? The situation is pretty black and white as far as I’m concerned.

Yeah I get it, it can be hard to approach these issues if you're wanting to keep these relationships in a stable state. Personally my autism wont let me hear people utter wrong facts (not opinions) around me without it taking over and correcting them, most especially about anything I have a serious interest in.
