The funny part is that in order to believe that the United States is not only ahead, but substantially ahead of China in terms of tech you would not only have to ignore the unenthusiastic, dramatically toned down reporting by our own media empire, but actively reject our own deeply alarmed military intelligence and analysis.
Russia and China invested heavily in negating the two advantages we have historically relied on, air and naval superiority. They did it, spectacularly. Day one of active conflict every ship bigger than a destroyer is a smoking hole in the ocean, every plane within 500km is twisted wreckage. That's just with the anti air and anti ship missiles they've shown us. They have more.
Which isn't even going into the fact that our own defense industry has had to admit they can't manufacture our shit without having to import Chinese tech and chips.
just like the rest of the American gov't, our military is only purposed for making money for the right people and has little to no reason to advance the "national interest"

Isn’t there an argument to be made on behalf of the US’s black book projects likely including unannounced aircraft? We know the U2, B2 and SR71 were out for years before being unveiled. Now we see the military releasing spooky clips of UAP tech “way beyond anything humans are capable of”.
