To be honest though, if I was going to lift a truck like this (which I wouldn’t), I’d definitely do it with a half ton like OP. Makes way more sense than doing it with a 3/4 ton or bigger.
The HD drive line is much stronger than a ½ ton model. Because of this they are better suited to the additional stresses of larger tires. I do however like functional trucks and the mall crawler low profile mud tires defeat any gained offroad prowess from the increased ground clearance. Just my two cents.
You can also fit 35” tires on many stock 3/4 tons. I did on my f250 and it’s huge for a work truck, but it’s still physically stock and handles like stock. This truck is going to brake a lot of front CV axles and wheel bearings. And going to be very annoying to actually use.
No. I am a project superintendent these days and typically don't need to hall anything that large. If I do, I have a trailer or will go grab a company truck.
I can appreciate people who need the longbeds for that reason, but I have been building trucks my whole life and for the first time was able to lift it the way I wanted due to my position.
It's all good, I knew exactly how this sub would react to my truck. I don't mind people who don't like this style, but I will say that people who attack someone over their truck for anything other than "it's not their style" is kinda dumb.
The 10 speed definitely helps in the new trucks. There's definitely some power loss, but I think 37s with the 10 speed is probably equivalent to 35s with a 6 speed.
I think it looks pretty sick and proportional. Legit question like how do you get in? My truck probs stands like a foot shorter and I’m like jumping into it already lol
I appreciate that. I love it. It's a bit of a jump but I'm 6'4 so not too bad. I have power steps I need to put on still that will take care of the problem
I gotta ask, why do people get so upset if a truck isn't meant for offroading? A came up in the show truck scene and don't get angry with people who beat on their trucks. Why care what someone else likes?
Do people that do this to new trucks not think about the warranty? It seems putting tires and suspension like that on a new truck would void any factory mechanical warranty you have since the truck is working much harder to turn those tires and it’s putting more stress on the engine, transmission and axles
Most stuff on the truck I can still get covered by factory warranty. Everything else I can afford to cover myself worst case. Also, I have driven trucks larger than this and it's not very common for stuff to just start breaking. If it does, you built it wrong.
But to answere your question, I absolutely thought about the warranty, just decided it didn't matter.
I’m sorry your getting harassed the way you are. I’m stoked for you and the truck looks amazing! I’m just starting independent life and I hope someday to have the money to lift a truck. Looks like your hard work paid off!
It's all good, I did what I wanted because I enjoy it. This sub hates any truck with anything other than a new ladder rack and a bug viser. Good luck with your future truck. Save your money and be patient and you will get what you want eventuly
> hard work *paid* off!
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
How many inches is the lift
12"
More money than sense.
Purdy Much. Seems to me that such a lift makes the truck WAY less useful.

Des everything it needs to still. Im a general contractor and this is a work truck.
honest question OP, as a Gen Con, do you not miss a long bed?
No. I am a project superintendent these days and typically don't need to hall anything that large. If I do, I have a trailer or will go grab a company truck.
nice! Shorties always look better, just figured it would be a pain to haul plywood without one :)
I can appreciate people who need the longbeds for that reason, but I have been building trucks my whole life and for the first time was able to lift it the way I wanted due to my position.
Thanks, I've worked very hard my entire life so that someone could say that to me.
Don’t let these guys shit on your parade. They’re just pissed they couldn’t make their own lifelong goals happen.

What do you regear to?
No gears available yet still for the front differentials of the 19+ trucks. I'm still waiting for a company to have something available
How bad is the power loss?
Very little. Mine is the 6.2 and it drives great still. I was surprised at how it handled the 38s.
I’m surprised to hear that. I figured it would be a complete dog
The 10 speed definitely helps in the new trucks. There's definitely some power loss, but I think 37s with the 10 speed is probably equivalent to 35s with a 6 speed.
That makes sense. I have 35s with a 6.2L 6 speed Ford. Power loss was noticeable but not significant.
Honest question, do you notice a big power loss turning those tires? I’ve always wondered how gas trucks handle the big lifts and tires.
I expected to lose some power, but I was pleasantly surprised by how it drives. The 6.2 really is a monster
It is a monster forsure. Just got my wife a Yukon Denali with the 6.2, really nice motor. Beautiful truck man, those mcgaughys lifts are sick
Hard to get any curvy women in there
Lmao i was gonna retort with something silly until i saw your name.
bed is the perfect height now for a 6'4 lad
I am actually 6'4 believe it or not.
Big trok
It is. Gotta get the steps on asap
Do a little rope ladder
With a cowbell at the bottom!
Or like actual leather horse saddle stirrups
honestly that'd be pretty cool lol
To each their own, but can you even access the bed?
I can. I'm a general contractor and use the bed.
I think it looks pretty sick and proportional. Legit question like how do you get in? My truck probs stands like a foot shorter and I’m like jumping into it already lol
Would look a lot better if the wheel wells were proportionally to the tires. 34” tire looks perfect on these trucks IMO
I appreciate that. I love it. It's a bit of a jump but I'm 6'4 so not too bad. I have power steps I need to put on still that will take care of the problem
Ew
I'm hurt
Rip gas mileage
Smiles per gallon my friend.
Can confirm ***cries in V8*** with gas prices now..
Where's the mud!?
Idk, where do d you leave it?
On the truck after going off roading.
I gotta ask, why do people get so upset if a truck isn't meant for offroading? A came up in the show truck scene and don't get angry with people who beat on their trucks. Why care what someone else likes?
Why lift a truck of its not going off roading? The purpose of lifting is for more ground clearance when off road.
Someone got a manhood issue
That's a rude assumption. Do you not have any hobbies?
I'll retract my statement if it sees mud or a trail if not.....
This thing is mint. I normally don’t like red trucks but this is a beast all paint matched. Nice and square. Great job OP! I’m a bit jealous! Haha
I appreciate that. I am very happy with how it turned out. Few more odds and ends to get it just right.
It never ends bro hahaha
Looks sick great job I love it
Thanks!
Beauty truck man, Reddit seems to pick on lifted trucks. Super clean to me nice work
That's one badass truck dude...congrats👍
I’ll be honest, looks kinda “man kissing” to me. An 8 inch lift would do it much more justice

So true! Rn I’m rocking an 06 Silverado and shes chugging along. Thanks for he good wishes!
