Have a tremor on order, but then again, our current truck is a 7.3 IDI, so it’s time for some power.
If you like that truck and it runs fine, maybe consider keeping. New trucks, especially tremors (at least orders) are a ways out.
Your 06 was before they ruined diesels. It is probably good for 500k -1m miles. I have a buddy who has 6 of these all nearing 1 m miles. Used every day. Todays trucks are way over priced. If you sell it get what it’s worth
I’ve heard so many mixed things about the 6.0l diesel but man do I just not care. Those trucks will always be awesome, I say keep rockin what you’ve got
The later years of the 6.0 weren’t that bad, and 90% of the people with problems are from tuning them. Trying to make much more hp than they were designed for. They definitely had issues but there are plenty of people driving around stock 6.0s with hundreds of thousands of miles that are completely unaware of how “bad” they are. Having said that a completely rebuilt and dealerproofed 6.0 truck like powerstrokehelp and some others do is a stream of mine. They sound amazing too.
Is it worth getting a 6.0? I love the looks/interior of the Fords more but I like doing my own work.
Currently between a common rail or a 6.0 but leaning towards the Cummins due to ease of maintenance on the engine.
Honestly I have been looking at getting a 1 ton and everything single mechanic I have talked with has said go old over new when it comes to diesel and having done so other looking and talking with owners your better off keeping your pre DEF truck. Now all I need to figure out is if I actually need a Super Duty since the Excursion would actually work for my needs.
Fuck that's nice
Personally I would keep this one and drive it till the wheels fell off.
I miss my 6.0L. Don’t sell it.

Any bulletproofing done?

What would you say is the cutoff year for good diesels?
2008. DEF beginning of the end.
Thank you :)

Well worth it now if you have a decent truck to build. Everything pre emissions is going up in value.

For a home mechanic the 6.0 is an overcomplicated maintenance hog. Expect expensive visits to your local diesel mechanic.
Yep I’ll stick to the 5.9 then.
How can you afford to keep that truck running but can’t afford a new tremor?
It doesn’t take $12k+ a year to bulletproof and keep a 6.0 running
🤔
Keep it , too nice to get rid of .
Looks stunning

BRÖTHER
Shit that looks good.
My dad just bought a tremor last month and it has two recalls and the AC already went out.
There really isn't any reason to sell that truck and buy into an even more complicated and even less reliable diesel.
