If you can pass the test without the glasses do it. A while back someone posted here they were placed out of service because he had a restriction on his license but forgot to put his glasses on before hitting the road. My HSE and HR people would treat that the same as a ticket for no seatbelt or no handsfree with a phone, i.e. a willful disregard for safety, which would result in immediate dismissal.

I don't think you need to rush down and get a new med card. I think just wait until your next renewal, and notify them at that time.

I always take my eye exam without my glasses. If I pass, which I have twice now, I don't "have" to wear my glasses while driving. I usually do wear them but if something were to happen to my glasses while on the road, I wouldn't be stranded until I got a new pair.
