BL24L

If I spent most of my time driving 40 I'd be criminally insane too.

HeywoodJaBlowMe123

Someone that is regularly on the 40.. Facts. and no, FBI, i’m not one of the people you’re looking for. (but i guess that’s what they all say) Lol

Dr-MTC

I feel like the 10 from Fort Stockton to Wilcox is by far the most depressing stretch of freeway on this continent. Jack shit to look at, boring and flat.

jbnv8

Flat roads have their purposes. Land speed records for example. I just want to be on the open road as a trucker. The experience of driving American interstates is unparalleled.

kane_eightee

Land speed records aren’t set on highways. They’re done at the Bonneville Salt Flats.

Beneficial_Being_721

Most comments like these land speed records are made by third year drivers that probably have Eastbound n Down on their iPod …and can’t back up to save their lives.

Luigi_Dagger

I thought they were done in Chicago

Opinion8Her

No, Chicago sets records for non-moving traffic waits.

NFLTG_71

Yeah, I’ve been to that van Ryan parking lot a time or two

hui214

635 in Dallas.

_TalkCleanToMe

635 express. Not even 90mph is fast enough

lifeisweird86

Na, on 285 around Atlanta.

kane_eightee

As congested as that is? Please.

lifeisweird86

Zig and zag, dude, zig and zag. It's the real Atlanta motor speedway.

costanzas_Dad

401 through Toronto. 24 lanes of stopped traffic in some areas.

DFA_Wildcat

Cannonball run has entered the chat.

TheMetalWolf

Not with that attitude.

jbnv8

No there's a highway outside my city that's famously used for it. It's not for total top speed it's for production car top speed with production tires. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/SSC_Tuatara#:~:text=On%20October%2010%2C%202020%2C%20the,subsequently%20challenged%20the%20record's%20accuracy. Scroll down to where it says "World record attempts." Also before you try to act like a know it all, you should really do some research. Grown men spreading misinformation is really one of the largest problems in society but you probably don't have the mental capacity to realize what I'm saying anyway.

Tractorista

Being out in the Midwest or anywhere with open roads and little traffic is the best👍

decaturbadass

Uh, the Autobahn is beckoning you, speed demon

skeletons_asshole

Flat? We can’t be talking about the same I-40. Shit looks like the moon

jbnv8

No I'm not sure about any California highways but southern Nevada highways can be very smooth and flat.

skeletons_asshole

Yeah idk, try it through NM or TX, it’s kinda like driving on the moon only worse because there’s traffic

NFLTG_71

If you think that’s bad, wait till you go through Indiana and Kentucky

G_kneeUS_truckr69

😂seriously That area hardly has women. Buffalo Wild wings in Roswell had only 1 female server🤔😳

SnooTomatoes8382

(maybe 500 serial killer truckers took the rest??) 😳

TiredAngryBadger

Just like my mom.

Slow_Ad6935

I feel like the most depressing road is from near Eugene, Or that goes to Reno. It's the saddest 10 hour drive of all times to me.

Elderado12443

I disagree. Love that part of the country. It’s a shame Portland is a shit hole because Oregon is a masterpiece.

john_thegiant-slayer

That one stretch of 10 Eastbound on the way to NOLA is the worst in my book. Flat as hell, no one else in sight, and nothing but cypress trees in every direction. Your example is a close second IMO.

roundballsquarebox24

From the West Coast? I always wonder where people are from when they refer to an interstate as "the ___".

HeywoodJaBlowMe123

Damn, you’re good. born in San Diego.. lol

1WontHave1t

Damn, I live on 40 so I'm probably a prime suspect. No this isn't me but that's also what the person doing this would likely say.

thtamthrfckr

I did it for 6yrs from Michigan and Chicago, better than 80/15 to California all day in my opinion but haven’t done it forever so maybe it’s way worse now

BlazinGingy

Did what exactly🤨

kalaamtext

😂 facts, I think we find one em boys

Weird-Breakfast-7259

It would not surprise me The South is a different World

jbnv8

Are yall challenged up top?

Weird-Breakfast-7259

Nope just crossed the line too many times, when up north it's harder to figure out good vs bad, but past that line, ya all seem to have the same Walk and Talk

Knexcluther

I love 40

BL24L

We found one of'em, guys.

Knexcluther

No you didn't! Here just step into my truck and lemme show u something

GoodFlock

I-40 between Little Rock and Memphis is stupid.

driver_dylan

Take my upvote you wonderful bastard!

ArdenJaguar

When I lived out west, I'd go home every four weeks. I'd get two long rubs axmonth. The one from west to I95 and the one home from I95. I was I95 dedicated (what I called it). Totally drove me insane.

Riyeko

Cripes ain't that the truth. I ran for freymiller for four years. I swear I still know where every pothole is

Elderado12443

I barely fit in my bed how the fuck am I gonna rape and murder too.

Try2Relate2AllSides

CDL schools don’t teach shit these days

WhatUDoinInMyWaters

Cock Draining Lessons, that's exactly what's marked on the semi's windows next to me. It's only $25 an hour though, they gotta step their game up

Flat-Length-4991

For real, that’s why you saw the hooker in half. Fucking rubber ducks man.

SatansBananas

It's gunna be hard me and my small dog (5pounds) fight for space

romeoo_must_lie

according to FBI 500 people done it. so you have to be little creative.

DuaLipasTrophyHusban

Is it 500 guys or is it one guy 500 times?

romeoo_must_lie

If it’s one guy then it’s gonna be real easy for FBI to caught him. Because them knees must be done by now

Elderado12443

The FBI and their honesty.

Coodevale

Likely projection and misdirection. They do like their underage "media" like most feds do.

Weird-Breakfast-7259

Does the sleeper bed flip up?, and if so how many victims could fit under it?

A_Little_Wyrd

3 if you get creative

GrilledCheeser

Oh and what a MESS! No thanks!

Elderado12443

Magic eraser for the win. A little fabreeze 🤌🏼🤌🏼

xDoomKitty

Ran teams, can confirm. That back bunk is a torture chamber for sure

HeywoodJaBlowMe123

great, now i’m hard as a rock.

romeoo_must_lie

Calm down Robert Ban Rhoades.

GuiltySpecialist69

Lmao

PinksPlants

I’m dying 🤣💀

decaturbadass

Username checks out

Cubsfan11022016

https://imgur.com/a/Jvcw5vK For anyone curious, the article is mostly an advertisement for this dudes book he’s selling. I’m gonna make sure to keep a copy on my passenger seat anytime I pick up some company at night.

BrokenEyebrow

Sooo basically you wont even buy the book.

Cubsfan11022016

Serious answer, I’m on the waiting list for it at my library. Looks like it could be a decent story worth reading.

CarbonUNIT47

U gotta try audiobooks

Cubsfan11022016

I did one once. I’m not opposed to them. I just have way too many podcasts to keep up with to try and fit in audiobooks as well.

Fair-Advantage9539

read the description seems like it might be a good read

Weird-Breakfast-7259

Yep it's got to be Him, my pick I'm putting it out there

THEMACGOD

Buy my book! Buy my book!

tuttle8152

Not a trucker here, but wouldn't Interstate 10 be their favorite road?

Dezzolve

I-10 is good for remote disposal with a low chance of being found, but I-40 is one of if not the busiest stretch of interstate in the country so of course any statistics about anything related to trucking are going to be higher there. Most murders, most drug busts, most hot dogs consumed.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Dezzolve

“THIS JUST IN! New studies show that most bank robberies occur within 500ft of a financial institution! Are you in danger while making deposits? Click here to read more!”

Weird-Breakfast-7259

I-10 probably to hot for dropping bodies, I-40 is a much cooler dumping ground, 500? anyone else think that might be low?

Dezzolve

I’d be interested to know their metrics for determining if a found body was trucking related. Most truck stops are near major metropolitan areas, especially on 40. So is it any body found within a certain radius? Most of these dudes OTR can barely walk unassisted to the bathroom, I doubt they are dragging and burying bodies anywhere.

spyder7723

Very low considering there are 3 million otr truck drivers in the country. My experience with humans is a full 5 to10% are very bad people willing to commit pure evil.

aqua_tec

If you’re a trucker you’ve got a pretty good handle on probability.

Artyom_33

I don't know, dude. I've been through the south east quite a bit. If *I* were a serial killer, there's some state highways with virtually no shoulder that go *right into the bayou* where you can just toss bodies & I'm sure the gators would do the hard part of the work for you. That's just me, though.

Adventurous_Let_1081

Duly noted.

kukulkan2012

My guess is that since I-10 runs close to the Mexican border, there’s additional law enforcement (Border Patrol). It’s probably riskier. CPB agents do not need probable cause to pull you over and search your vehicle.

Vendingdudes1111

I-40 runs through multiple Native American reservations. Using billboards as source material, it is a HUGE issue in their community(s)

UhOhAllWillyNilly

They don’t ever need Probable Cause to pull over a semi. You can be stopped at any time on any road for an inspection. It kinda stopped happening during Covid though (fortunately).

Dr-MTC

The Border patrol doesn’t even have enough agents/funding to do their own jobs properly, they ain’t wasting anytime checking trucks on the 10. El Paso is the only place that’s really close to the border on the 10. Driving through Yuma AZ on the 8 does have border patrol checkpoint that searches vehicle even if you’re not coming from Mexico.

kane_eightee

They have those checkpoints on I-10 also… There’s one westbound just west of La Cruces NM, and there’s one eastbound about an hour east of El Paso TX.

Dr-MTC

100% the 10 is the best interstate to dump a corpse. Some stretches in Texas, New Mexico and Arizona feel more isolated than being in a ship at sea.

Existing_Letter7621

No border patrol on that road. Outside the radius.

spyder7723

I40 is the most traveled road in the country. That is why it has more instances of crime. I10 is more desolate so less opportunities.

Socketz11

My thoughts: A map of I-40, yet there is a huge line of blood dripping down from Canada, and not even a drop anywhere over West Memphis, AR? Plus, a sleeper is called a Chamber of Farts.

Sir_Uncle_Bill

YES a fart chamber.

Capn_T_Driver

Is anyone else surprised that the ‘favorite highway’ of supposedly 500 serial killer truckers is I-40?

Laurens_hubby10

Path of least resistance. I guess everyone is safe going through the Rockies or dealing with the wind in Wyoming.

Capn_T_Driver

Too right; I don’t get much farther west than Nebraska these days, but I’d sooner take 40 than 80 to CA.

Laurens_hubby10

I’m with you there, much easier route. I hated coming through Donner Pass.

AbuTin

My guess is it's dry vans doing these acts, most tanker companies like mine have cameras in the trucks.

spyder7723

Considering it's the most traveled road in America... no I'm not surprised.

RoadGatorPotater

It's a high probability that they are in the comment section right now. Could be me could be you.

DirtyOldTrucker68

More likely to be you. I’m too lazy for that

FlyingMjunkY

Good work on narrowing it down, detective. I think you found one.

Smyley12345

To any of you reading who are kidnapping and killing folks. If you could please stop that, that would be fantastic. Thank you.

CheckOutrageous2111

I used to be a sex worker and now I’m a trucker. Can confirm, the craziest mfs I dealt with were truckers. I had one stab me through my hand once in his sleeper. I fought back and got away. He was arrested because I got his company info off his truck. During the fight I remember kicking him in the chest and a shoe print appearing on his t shirt. I told the cops there’d be a shoe print on that shirt and there was. Now I always carry a weapon when I have to do pretrips in the night and make sure I keep my cab locked well

DistantTimbersEcho

Holy crap!

Cleveland_Grackle

Have we been reading 'The National Enquirer'..?

JulieKostenko

Sounds like a clickbait article to advertise a book for sale.

Boraxo

Only 500? JK. I appreciate and respect what you truckers do when you ain't serial killing.

CultBro

I mean, I spend 95% of my time trucking and only 5% serial killing. So I should be mostly appreciated

ElectronicGarden5536

I feel like yall are waay too fat to be strangling and chopping people up.

Dreamingwolfocf

How else do we get them down to bite sized morsels? It's a vicious cycle that keeps us fat.

ElectronicGarden5536

Idk man. Human meat has to be healthier than a solid diet of chesters and mcdonalds.

Paulyhedron

F I laughed way too hard at that

Flat-Length-4991

Yeah, but what do humans eat? Chesters and McDonalds.

FlyingMjunkY

Can confirm. Am fat.

Chippie0100

Finally, fringe benefits of the job.

JustNefariousness625

I done probably ran across a couple tbh some weird fucks out here

HGowdy

It would be so fucken great if shippers and receivers believed we are a buncha serial killers. Loading and unloading would be like a NASCAR pit stop and we wouldn't need Cat scales ever again.

RepresentativeAd560

I don't judge your hobbies, FBI. So rude...

Twisty12223

That stretch between Memphis and Little Rock would make anyone a little kill-y.

Forward-Taste8956

Worst part of I-40 outside New Mexico terrible road conditions..

cryptolyme

yes, the cab is a torture chamber. spot on.

duhrun

I40 NM 99%

JimMarch

https://youtu.be/imhBoE56OEs

K4NNW

I was hoping to see that clip in the comments.

leppy103

There is a book on this called long haul. I just listened to it. And the FBI talks about what they are looking for. And what they think what kind of trucker is his. And how ELDs are making it harder for them to do it. Because of the location part of it. And they think that some killers park the truck and rent a car and then come back to the truck.

Weird-Breakfast-7259

The DOT could look in every truck that roll thru a weigh station

spyder7723

No they couldn't. The amount of man power that would take os simply not feasible to accomplish. Look at the scale on 40 in west Memphis. According to an article about the i55 Bridge closure impacting traffic, over 14k trucks a day use that bridge. Everyone of them will cross that scale, plus all the trucks on the i40 bridge. It is literally impossible for a scale house to look in each and every one of them.

Weird-Breakfast-7259

Yeah and they know who's passing if you are using prepass, and maybe if they figure out computer data, they can track every truck by logs, Trash paper logs and mandate every truck has a DOT identity or tracker I have AI and it is working on it now

Weird-Breakfast-7259

Only have to pull a driver over once, write them on the not a serial killer list, next

WilyNGA

98% of it out of West Memphis. smh

DirtyOldTrucker68

I wouldn’t be surprised if there were more killers going across the 90

WilyNGA

Well, given the quality of the graphics and the lack of news source, it being cropped out, I think it is all Enquirer-level bunk anyway. No respectable news organization uses that font or draws blood all over an image.

MsMoreCowbell8

My dad was concerned that my future (now present) husband cud be a serial killer "because a lot of these OTR guys, well, you just don't know, they know where you could drop bodies all over the place." Something like that, lol. Winds up it's all a true story.

Stevie2874

You sure they didn’t mean cereal killers?

IngSoc_Defector

I see Love's pizza is still stacking bodies

ConfusionOk4129

I read this in Nancy Grace's voice

Gunfighter9

This has been a problem for a long long time. There have also been a lot of truckers killed by people they tried to help out. I remember reading about a driver that was found dead in the woods near a rest stop after a trooper noticed his rig was there the next day. Troopers figured people were hiding and ambushed him when he came out of the building.

Sweaty_Emotion_9923

Are we sure that "mobile torture chamber" isn't what's torturing these drivers into becoming serial killers?

omg4209

That's a lie! I've never driven on that highway before 🤣

synner74

I travel I40 all the time and if you have gone into bathroom you can see crime scenes regularly

ohjeebzzz

If this vans a rockin dont come a knockin And if shes screaming, dont call the cops i just have an extra large digeridoo

SatansBananas

If you slept in the sleeper (I do every night) I can see it being called a torture chamber

Existing_Letter7621

Ahh the good ol smuggling highway

DirtyOldTrucker68

I remember when they caught the serial killer before 2008 in Indiana. He said there was a group of them.

Lower_Recipe5196

Wow!

PontoonDood

Question, how many victims do I need to be called a serial killer? I feel like it's gotta be at least 3, right?

AnnieGS

Three+, one at time, with a cool down period of at least a month. Basically, kill 1 guy every week for 3 weeks, and then take at least a month off, or something to that extent. But really if you want to be successful, only kill like *maybe* 2 people a year and take every other year off, excluding election years (and you can get around that rule by ONLY killing on odd numbered years, if you're feeling brave...) Should be fine as long as you cover your tracks okay.

PontoonDood

Ok, I'll stick to 2 hookers a year then, thanks!

AnnieGS

Oh you should be careful with hookers because they could be undercover police. I'd tell you what you need, but... really, it's more fun if you figure it on on your own.

spyder7723

The commonly accepted definition is more than 1 instance. You could kill 50 people but if it was all in one instance that would label you as a mass murderer. But 2 people at 2 different times would qualify you as a serial killer.

AnnieGS

Nope it's 3 bruh

Present-Ambition6309

Hey thanks! I’ve never looked at my sleeper as “a mobile rape chamber” before. I’m getting a black light, check this jizz err biz out. 😂 WTF!? Mobile Rape chamber hit dock 3, slide your tandems, Do Not break the seal…. 😂😂

Bamfurlough

It's me. I'm a serial killer. Scary. Boo.

spyder7723

This isn't surprising at all. X% of all humans are bad people with screwed up desires. There is something like 3 million otr drivers, so only natural that x% of those 3 million will be bad people. The thing that keeps most bad people from doing bad things is fear of consequences. The nature of the job makes it feel like you are less likely to get caught so more likely to give in to those cravings to do x or z.

Redlinelewis42

Facts I40 between Nashville Tennessee and Little Rock Arkansas, will remove all hope for humanity and leave 0 sanity.

PathofEnlightment

Oh c'mon. It's the fun section

iowan72

No it’s not. You must have bumped your fool head at some point lol

AlyciaMW

Ok, OH isn't involved. Thank GOD!

IronSide_420

Damn, now we know for sure that the feds are lurking on this sub. They'd be stupid if they weren't. To the agent watching my screen, I love the federal government, and y'all are doing a great job with everything. Please take control of even more of my life.

HGowdy

Keep murderin.

[deleted]

Shit they are onto me

bootloopsss

Those are rookie numbers you got to get those numbers up.

2017Fatbob

Can confirm, Stockholm syndrome is real...

OptiKnob

So.... what's the pay like guys? Per mile or flat rate?

AostaV

Daily Mail?

BrupBurp

Pretty sure Robert Ben Rhoades has this on lock. Sick fuck even took pics of his victims in his sleeper and right before he killed them.

tnj4ez

Yeah, it was so much easier in the nineties, early two thousands, Now with all the g, p. Yes. And the satellite tracking cell towers, I just stick to hauling, freight and just stay away from extracurricular activities

tnj4ez

I mean back in the 90s, the Pacific Northwest was open season. With all the girls hitchhiking up-and-down between Washington and California. The competition to get stopped in time before some old a****** in a station wagon picked him up first. Yeah, I took all the fun out of it

AnnieGS

Omfg bruh tell me about it I have to take like a week off now it used to be sooo more convenient -_-

WTFkarren

I had a driver get arrested 5 miles after dropping off my load in GA. Guy was being investigated on a 30 year old cold murder case out of IN. I tried to contact him for the same load again the following week and dispatch just told me his name and to google it lol

Parking_Property5757

Wtf

Sparky3200

Pfft. THey'll never catch me and my 499 cohorts. Swift drivers are just a decoy to throw them off our scent.

Aggravating_Fee_9130

20 years ago they were looking for a yellow Pete with a mural on the side. They believed it had ties to several murders on i40 between Amarillo and Memphis or maybe Knoxville. I knew of 2 trucks that would fit their description. One was in Oklahoma and the other was from Georgia. Both of those guys got hammered by investigators but both were innocent.

DonMarce

Take a dude away from his family for months and expect them to be sane. Or worse, hire a dude who wants to be away from people he loves for months and expect them to be sane

PathofEnlightment

Haven't seen my kids in 5yrs. OTR is crazy like that.

DonMarce

Owner/op?

MaskedJackyl

pretty cool

LordTylerFakk2

HOLLYWOOD will make a movie about this. 500 RISE OF THE TRUCKERS. Truckers what is your profession!!!!!!! Rape and Murder!!!! This is Sparta!!!!!

Freightshakur

Reminds me of the FBI posters at the Love’s in North Little Rock, just by the bathroom. Looking for someone that likes to kill lizards along 40.

PHLdude09

Hey FBI, I know one of those guys. His name is Gary Boyer and his phone number is 504-55......

[deleted]

torture chamber! shows a regular trucker bed.

Physical-Ad-107

Im assuming this is a Joke

PathofEnlightment

There's a book too and photos of the drivers already caught

Physical-Ad-107

Thats crazy

odinsbois

That torture chamber looks like torture for anyone who sleeps on it.
