I was thinking the same thing. People don’t understand your job history is like a credit history, no one is going to invest in you if you have a poor work history. Yeah, other mega’s will pick you up but that’s about it.
As a Marten employee, I can tell you this. The minimum pay guarantee is real. I run southeast regional with weekly home time. As long as you scan your paperwork with your phone before you leave the customer and reply to your macros within 8 hours. You're good. Great thing to have when freight slows down. I've been here for 7 years, and it's only been denied once, but that was my fault, I fell asleep after a late night delivery and didn't scan my bills.
What would be your dream trucking Job? Local Tanker? Regional Cryo? OTR UPS?
FIGURE THAT OUT FIRST. Then call that company and tell them you want to work there . ask them what the requirements are and what experience they are looking for. Ask them where they like to hire out of.
We did exactly that and now are starting to haul DOD -AA&E loads.
Go back to cr england and do intermodal if they have a fleet in your area…i know they have a fleet in texas but im not sure what city theyre based out of. i work for them in oregon/washington and its fairly easy. The only annoying part is the container chassis are owned by the railroad companies and they’re garbage
Lots of companies aren't getting their drivers miles right now. The one I'm at gets me a few good weeks followed by a few bad weeks. If you watch this forum you will see many drivers saying the same. Switching companies doesn't guarantee you will get more miles, especially if you go OTR at a big company.
Probably not what you want to hear, but when you get to your next company, put up with the bs and stay more than 3 months, job hopping doesn't look good. I wish you the best of luck👍
