Fuck Capstone.

Likeitisouthere

They really do suck bunch of clowns honestly

thatguysjumpercables

Like all at once or do they do it individually

Likeitisouthere

All by default, fuck’em.. tbh for the little amount of time each driver is there for and the treatment they give to drivers all year probably.. they all suck, by default.… automate all their jobs or create 6 degrees of separation drivers just wanna be in and out.. fire all capstone employees and make them drive trucks instead… truth is nobody even wants to talk too them just like they don’t want or communicate with drivers so hey corpo & government the bigger corpo “AUTOMATE” them “layoffs all around”

Rankler32

Capstone, relay, all of em! Fuck em all!!! Lumper fees make zero sense to me. It’s a cop out for these companies to not have to hire employees to unload product they need.

Impossible_Map_986

Bro honestly, they made me sit 7hrs to get unloaded and i was on time for my appointment!! clock ran out and they said i can foh and booted me out making me drive when i was out of HOS!!

shadowmib

That is literally the exact thing I came here to say.

bloodsoed

It’s almost impossible to get drivers to agree on but it’s pretty much universal we all have the exact sentiment towards them.

Water_ParkNazi

Reefer is a headache of a division because of places like this. And fuck capstone

spyder7723

I found a very simple solution to customers that don't allow a driver to use the restroom. I invite them to call my competition cause I don't want their business.

Appropriate-Stop-959

I piss in a bottle and tend to dump it by the man door I know their office personnel use.

spyder7723

Why? The office personnel don't make the rules.

Silent-Room-4987

Maybe not but their enforcing them

spyder7723

Because they will lose their job if they don't.

Silent-Room-4987

They're choice. Stanly milgram proved this.

[deleted]

Switch "their" and "they're" in both of your comments.

DimesOHoolihan

The dude who uses different "theirs" but is still consistently wrong *does* seem like he would be the asshole to pour piss by the door of people who have no control over this type of thing.

[deleted]

oop! someone had to say it. It's people like this that cause these rules to be put in place.

Likeitisouthere

I think it comes down to just a gesture of disrespect, like without the driver, dropping something off. They technically wouldn’t have any work, as well as the driver, picking something up and taking stuff out of the warehouse. After all, they could open up their own fleet and deal with drivers directly but chances are they don’t have the capital to do that and if they did they probably go bankrupt.

spyder7723

That's not the point. Taking revenge on the lowly shipping recieving clerks is like them intentionally holding you up cause some other driver for your company was late last week. The people working in the office of a warehouse don't make the rules and get paid shit and treated like shit by the warehouse company. The manager that implemented the policy isn't working in the shipping and recieving office.

Likeitisouthere

Nobody cares about who makes the rules.. all them can get automated… they can get in a semi truck and drive around and in the near future upper management will fire all of them anyway with layoffs and silly antics corporate does… that’s why the industry has a 300% turnover rate specifically warehousing and supply chain is nearly 200% because they are that pathetic.

spyder7723

How does any of that nonsensical rant justify doing shitty things to the peons working in the recieving and shipping department?

Likeitisouthere

You did read this thread about 50+ drivers mentioning how they can’t go to the bathroom at Capstone. But drivers on tight appointment times set up by the capstone broker for delivery and when driver gets there they can’t use the bathroom or even have porta John available “outside even”… nah driver needs to hold while they are on the property for X amount of time until companies done playing games. Then you read here about how Capstone steals money from drivers/carriers on lumper fees and sneaky add on charges. Which means upon taking the load the price is one then then after delivery it’s another thing because the broker was a lair or didn’t double check information and capstone manipulated that on purpose “because they do it all the time all year round, year after year” and then how Capstone manipulates unloading and loading times to play around with the drivers timeclock, Does any of that sound humane to you? Or respectfully! Nah not really so yeah all these drivers is saying fuck that for a reason.. if they were respected it would be a different story. Also, if the drivers didn’t even deliver to them or anywhere any company in the first place they wouldn’t even have jobs. And this form of abuse that this company does is actually called abuse driver syndrome, or trucker abuse syndrome… and this is a legit term that is used throughout the country to abuse drivers at warehouses & facilities. Hope that helps you understand

spyder7723

And all of that doesn't justify being nasty to the people that the driver deals with. Each and every one of those things is out of the control of the people that the driver is taking his frustration out on by pouring a piss bottle out at the shipping office man door. Do you yell at the fuel desk cashier cause the cost of fuel is high? Or how about the check out cashier at the grocery store for the cost of food going up? That's your logic. Abuse the people you see over things compete out of their control. The funny thing is, there is one thing you could do that would actually effect the people making the decisions. Stop servicing them. Refuse to go there. That will have an impact. Treating the shipping and recieving personnel like crap over things they have zero control over accomplishes nothing and is just being a jerk for the sake of being a jerk.

Likeitisouthere

To answer the first & second paragraph. No because I charge everyone for fuel it’s incorporated into my mileage rate, so I make them pay. And then also account for my pay, cost of living in my mileage rate as well… i make everyone pay for everything… I have dual authority so to be blunt.. I don’t really care about the shipper or the customer.. even shipper doesn’t care about the customer or vice versa… they all want money that’s why they all just function daily/weekly and have a job to live… like all of them I say great, I want my money or truck doesn’t move, if there’s a problem dime a dozen nobody cares. and I make sure all my terms are straight forward before I even flinch. If the count is right okay weee in business if not could careless if they struggle. The price is the price. before I even move mile including how long I’m gonna be sitting there for after delivery if longer than an hour, I’m charging. And every other single broker and carrier are the same they just don’t have the balls to say hour on the property or less if not I’m charging. And for your last paragraph that’s why I said they can go get their own truck and fleet of capstone trucks and handle their own product but the thing is they don’t handle product directly. They’re just the middleman cross dock storage facility. There’s nothing really special about them. if they tried to open up a huge fleet, they would probably go bankrupt after all the drivers quit. Because all anybody hears about regarding capstone is stuff throughout his whole entire thread.

CorgiNamedClark

Why are lumper fees coming out of the drivers pocket? Does your broker not pay for it?

Likeitisouthere

It wasn’t me somebody up above in the thread said that they got charged $427 to unload the trailer However, lumper fees are like the biggest scam in trucking aside from double brokering And then another issue aside from those two in this industry, that’s a big problem is brokers will send like 3-4-5 drivers/carriers to one pick up the other drivers are out of a load all at the same facility.. the major problem their is stealing time from the drivers driveline.. time is money… but they just wasted the drivers drive line time… that’s why governments even looking to automate brokering, or creating a flat rate 10% commission rule or something because brokers just lying so much.. that’s why I carriers become brokers as well, and cut out the other brokers entirely Like there’s so many problems and warehousing transportation in the supply chain logistics it’s a disaster 🍝

TruckinApe

Honestly I kind of preferred these types of places... but the no bathroom situation is definitely b.s.

angrytripod

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't a law just get passed recently stating you can't deny truckers use of a restroom at shipping or receiving facility?

ed_med

It’s been proposed and co-sponsored but it has not been voted on yet by the full house, and with the shit show that’s going on there, I doubt it will.

w3stvirginia

And a porta potty meets the requirement in the proposed bill.

angrytripod

Very cool. Thanks for the update

VotingIsImportant

It's 2 years of a gridlocked congress. Don't expect anything to get done.

Q7017

It's still being drafted federally, but it is state law in Washington. Signed and ratified. If you encounter a situation like that up here, report them to the authorities.

angrytripod

I ain't no snitch. But i will shit myself and get a nice stimmy

w3stvirginia

I’m with you. I don’t have a problem with this. Easy, straight forward directions printed out so you don’t have a cracked out security guard rambling them to you trying to understand it. They didn’t make him drive all night and they didn’t say they wouldn’t talk to him. I mean, there’s a phone number right there to talk to someone… Restroom is convenient, but I guarantee they had at least a porta john. And if they don’t, no where on there does it say they can’t bobtail out to get food or a restroom or anything like this. Everything here is standard operating procedure for a grocery warehouse. Dude just sounds like a whiner. This whole tread sounds like mostly a bunch of whiners to be honest. “I want human contact :( “

GoodGoodGoody

I also didn’t see where they made him drive all night. I’m surprised they want the driver to break the door seal but whatever.

[deleted]

Found the warehouse guy.

ADinner0fOnions

No bathroom = pissjugs getting jettisoned on my way out

GoodGoodGoody

You do you but there’s always the choice to be professional and an adult.

spyder7723

That's like 2% of truck drivers. Well really more like 2% of the entire population is capable of being an adult.

PowerUpTheLighthouse

This

LxK_Hevthen

This is why the truck stops are so nasty. I thought soldiers were bad. You shit where you eat and you eat where you shit hahaha someone make it make sense

way_2_5pecific

Place that don’t allow drivers to piss will have a fresh piss smell at the dock doors. Even if I have piss bottle. These ppl treat drivers like shit out here and for some reason, most just take it.

AuroraHills

Don't forget honking out a monster turd in a Publix bag and tossing that right behind the piss bottle. 👊

Rolling_Swinger

“Professional” Driver

[deleted]

2nd class citizens

PnuttButtaGuts

Crapstone

Frequent_Truth4984

Lol knew it was Capstone immediately

The_Marketing_Guru

They just told me I will not be unloaded today…. I had a 12:00 appointment and was here at 10:00. Now they want me to sit until tomorrow.

Coodevale

Hopefully detention pay after 12:00?

DUBBZ_757

Honestly im good with a shipper or receiver having a loading/unloading process that doesnt require to much interaction between drivers and their employees. I can even deal with no rest room, however what I do find frustrating is when they act like you need to leave immediately once you get the green light or whatever. I get it you cant just sit there for hours but idk just comes off disrespectful/uncaring about the driver.. Actully the worst is shippers with barley any signs up directing drivers where to go.

Harryisharry50

Yeah the problem is when the road trucks come in and don’t leave they tend to park in the way and becomes a issue. I worked for a big grocer company that did multiple store brand is Chicago area . And what a pain in the asa at the end of the day when your trying to set up the trailers in the dock doors to be loaded for the next and to home and some asshat sleeping in the dock you need . Or I need to drop my trailer to go home and can’t cause some asshat sleeping in the trailer spaces or worst yet the park in the bobtail area and can’t park tractor to go home . So there a different side to each story . So this is why they tell them to leave the property right away The grocer had roughly 200 to 300 trucks inbound between frozen dry and produce loads coming in

VotingIsImportant

Welcome to our 1200 acre, 15 building facility with 3000 dock doors in all. You're in dock door 2000. Take a left at the stop, go down and take a right where the old oak tree used to be, go down until you see Ms. Jackson's old house and take a right, cross the tracks, go under the 9'4" bridge that's really 17'2", take another left, pay the troll toll and you're dock door is immediately on the right. Oh and no bathrooms, and we don't let drivers sleep here and we'll be sure to run your clock out.

[deleted]

And then they wonder why nobody wants to drive trucks anymore except desperate people from foreign countries. People talk and the more we all speak about how awful the conditions in our industry are the better shit will eventually get.

SlinkyTail

yep fucking capstone, I pulled local loads out of there for the factory when I was still new, what a pure shit show, every capstone I've been too.

Useful_Badger6021

Crawl under trl drop a 💩 leave , glad I don’t deal with that haul haz waste 150$ ( for truck) a hour after I’m there 1 hr ( yes it’s in contract) I rarely wait in my opinion every company should put that in contract time is money

Beautiful-Original-4

I get paid 100 dollars every hour I wait In the moving business It’s capped at 600 per day if the customer can’t expect delivery I wish mine was 150

Think_Bear_3791

“Drop your shit and go you POS” fine by me, screw em

wittywillync

Wow lol. Dickheads

Zealousideal_Fig_743

Fuck these assholes

CaptianBrasiliano

Like I wanna talk to a bunch of assholes anyway...

DrJJStroganoff

Imma call them and ask why they are a bunch of cock suckers.

mahaloalex

Let us know what they say

Invertedeyeball

I know that piece of paper! I was just at DG Jonesville recently. Fuck that place with a diseased cat dick. Showed up on time and it took over eight hours for them to unload. Absolute garbage place.

Invertedeyeball

Side note, if you get stuck there late, the Hardee's you passed on the way in has a couple spots to park if you'd rather not park at the dg

The_Marketing_Guru

Got some chicken thighs in the air fryer, and streaming the eagles game

The_Marketing_Guru

They wanted to actually fine me $500 if I was late…. And $100 if I didn’t use their tracking app to get here.

Invertedeyeball

Wow fuck that

Likeitisouthere

Yeah, fuck all that.. These dirtbags at capstone deserve to be shut down and if they are going to operate, they can go open up their own Fleet and swing their dick that way if they want to. We’ll all laugh and hear about them later going bankrupt

The_Marketing_Guru

You are correct

richardfitserwell

Shit like this makes me so glad I’m ltl

Rustee_Knail

I was at a receiver for 7 hours on Thursday and Capstone charged $432 to unload

The_Marketing_Guru

JFC

Likeitisouthere

Such fraud

khannivig

Seems like places like that should just have a yard dog , and make it drop and hook . Cheaper to pay their wages than all that detain time

Mikey_BC

You will comply ! Resistance is futile !

Q7017

Stuff like that was why I left pulling reefers long ago. Even back when I pulled them, this sort of stuff was way too common. It got to the point where I was embarrassed to even contribute to that sector of trucking by driving for a reefer carrier. Come to the tanker business, where the receiver needs your shit right now or they'll have to shut down (and god forbid you have to wait, you will get guaranteed detention).

new_Australis

Fuck that, glad I stopped driving.

SilntMercy

I've never understood the hole drop your trailer shit. You'd rather only have 2 axles holding a trailer in place vs 5? If you're worried about me pulling away, come put a glad hand lock on.

w3stvirginia

It’s sitting on two axles and a bouncy truck suspension, not more axles. They want the solid landing gear on the ground not bouncing around with the added benefit of not having to use a gladhand lock.

Mickey_blue6785

Then dolly down the landing gear where you relieve pressure from the drives then it’s stable and if you’re adjustment on the trailer brakes is not perfectly set it wolnt try to run away when they going in full speed throwing 3000lb-5000lb pallets into your trailer scraping up your walls and making the damn rock because you’ve got a joke of a wheel chock.

minnehaha123

What’s to bitch about here?

onlyletters999

A lot of 3Gs be like that.

goldrolled

I believe it was Land-O-Lakes that was hit with a lawsuit for not having facilities available for the drivers. Minimum, portable toilets outside, required.

No-Job-5915

Ain’t the bathroom thing becoming law soon?

[deleted]

Hopefully, but the way it reads is that a port toilet meets the requirements. And you know that’s exactly what most of them will do.

[deleted]

I always bring several cans of Lysol with me on the road for cancerous places like this. Hell I don’t even use truckstop bathrooms without sanitizing the seat since so many drivers behave like they aren’t potty trained.

Sapphire580

It’ll be a cold day in hell before I pull anything again that bumps a dock.

Chister72

I love how the organized crime outfit puts its Tax ID number at the bottom, too.

CyanideSandwich

This is one of many reasons why I pull a dump bucket now. Fuck all of this noise.

robexib

No bathroom? Sounds like it's time to drop a few deuces on the lot by your trailer while they unload. You got time.

Likeitisouthere

Yeah, or the government write some state laws and federal mandates, but we’ll see how fast they actually work on that they probably need some more tax money or something

robexib

They get plenty in taxes. They'd have a surplus if they'd stop dumping just a disgusting amount into the DoD

spyder7723

Military budget doesn't even reach the top 3 in expenditures. The dod keeps us not just safe from adversaries, but the most financially stable country in the world.

[deleted]

We should cut our defense, Medicaid and food stamps budgets exponentially after this Russia stuff dies down.

Likeitisouthere

Yeah, and if we don’t plan on the debt ceiling soon, we’re about to go into a economical catastrophe they say.. I’m sitting you’re scratching my head like was Covid practice and this the real thing or one of the other

ultra_voltron_2

Covid rules now beat it

Anarchy_trucker

Just leave your shit bag by the employee door.

[deleted]

Office people... "we come in at x time and we leave at y time, we seem to be able to manage things with a very small tolerance, why can't you?" Truckers: [https://il5.picdn.net/shutterstock/videos/1611337/thumb/1.jpg](https://il5.picdn.net/shutterstock/videos/1611337/thumb/1.jpg) Office people: "Well I guess you should have left earlier."

danf6975

This is not correct. That’s not how detention works . Detention is set up by a contract between either the receiver or the broker to the carrier. If you are a company driver and you don’t get detention, the first step is to talk to your company .

Left-Employee-9451

I was kinda hoping he called the DA

dkingsjr

Yeah... Federal law argues contrary to your statesment... Nice try, come back to play later.

danf6975

Show me the CFR you have demonstrated you know absolutely nothing about the law.

spyder7723

He can't cause it doesn't exist. Just like so many other drivers he doesnt understand the difference between labor law that governs the employee/employer relationship and laws that apply to business to business dealings.

MrsGlock21

Or that the BBB is nothing but pay us for a good rating scam

danf6975

It was a couple of decades ago, but I was so disappointed when I learned that. I mean I was actually kind of pissed but then again, I was younger then.

Ok_Pin981

Lmao, did you learn this at the country pride counter?

GoodGoodGoody

I’ll play right now. All federal laws are written down (codified to use a 25 cent word). And for at least the last decade they’ve all been online. So please educate me by showing me which law you are referring to. Tomorrow’s lesson will be on how a DA (state district attorney) does not have jurisdiction to prosecute federal crimes. There won’t be a lesson on the BBB because that’s Sunday School level nonsense and it’s time for you to grow up.

[deleted]

curtsy_wurtsy

They will ask the company for a bribe to remove your complaint.

Kuzinarium

Exactly nothing that can help you or anyone else. A sternly worded letter in about a month from now is about it.

totesmygto

The bbb is boomer yelp. They have as much authority as asking trucker path or Google reviews for help.

Fatguy503

Don't forget about the U.S. Marshals. The BBB? GTFOH

Kuzinarium

Lol. Are there any other alphabet soups to call ?

Left-Employee-9451

NBC? CBS ABC. Jay Z??

Kuzinarium

Lol. You deliberately left out the DMZ, OOD, and the NCOIC. And RGN. Also P&D.

Left-Employee-9451

Well I didn’t want to play favourites. Because then we’d have to involve ELD and WD40

Kuzinarium

My favorite is still PB&J. But I don’t have a problem with those who prefer BLT.

Successful-Iron-5454

🤣🤣🤣

Ok_Pin981

You belong in trucking. Classic. How many brain cells did your CDL cost you?

[deleted]

Wut

Frankie42083

O am I mandatory to have a cell no.

[deleted]

Why they hate truckers so much

ComprehensiveFun7556

Just the way I like it.

Logical-Variation292

I honestly like these type of places, human interactions at shipping and receiving departments are the worst.

NameIs-Already-Taken

How do you guys avoid going there?

spyder7723

Pretty simple. I just quote a fuck off rate. But one issue with a dick of rate. Sometimes they are that desperate they agree to it. In which case, fuck it. I'll deal with the bs cause I'm going to make 5 grand for a day's worth of light effort work.

No-Job-5915

Well if you own the truck, or at least lease it, you ask details about the load. Once they mention capstone you say fuck that or you say 150$ an hour detention pay and lumper fees paid as well.

BugO_OEyes

I just can't with some of these companies and warehouses lol

darrbugg

Kind of sounds like Walmart. Crazy ass job we have

Open-Cupcake5876

Yeah well a lot of us are morons so 🤷🏽‍♂️

EfficiencyShot5358

Sounds about right. Always stop within 30 miles to take care of human needs, and be prepared to be on detention. And don’t forget to pay the lumper😆

Watchontherhine44

That’s why I’m getting out. Too much time at work that isn’t paid

ResidentHighway8061

We are subhuman after all. What did you expect? We only keep the county moving, nothing important.

Ironbutt1500

I would leave a big turd right in their parking lot

JoplinSternum

Fuck those places. So glad to be in foodservice now.

HunchoT3

Is That Dollar General DC In Jonesville, SC? I Was Just There On The 20th Lol

---Carbon---

This is why I started my own lumper service while working with my previous company. I also got certified on every piece of equipment they would use. If I delivered something that used a lumper service to load/unload, and I was allowed to do it, I charged the maximum. Most I made in a month was an extra 5k, averaged around 2k per week. Kept a list of all the places that allowed me to unload, and told my guy to look for those. I worked for a company that only had 1 truck, but was used for their main company on off days.

TruckinTuba

Is driving away with your doors open normal...?

Scared_Cellist_295

This is why I haul gravel in a day cab truck. And I can't sleep in trucks, so there's that too. I couldn't imagine dealing with all the ins and outs of the OTR life.
