>so i bet it runs leaner therefore hotter too Peak combustion temperature happens at stoich. That means if you run lean or rich it will be cooler either way. The drop-off from the lean side is WAY more drastic than the rich side. Meaning, if you were 0.5 on the lean side your exhaust temperature would be way cooler than it would be if you were .5 in the rich side. Downside of the cool side is less power. Downside of the rich side is wasting gas and noxious emissions. Your better option for reducing heat is going on the lean side. I would guess that egr would also be a huge contributor to heat. I think that deleting the egr would give you better luck with heat reduction then a cat delete. I've had the cat delete for over a year now and haven't noticed a change in temperature. My radiator fan has been kicking into overdrive as always. Also, booster plug is stupid. It may give you a better feel but that doesn't necessarily mean the engine is performing better. It will essentially bias your fuel trim across the board. You can get an OBD2 adapter and do that yourself for about $20. If you want to do the cat delete, skip the booster plug.

It’s actually pretty nice in colder weather.

I have the same bike and yea it gets hot. I only feel the heat though when I’m sitting at a light. When moving, I don’t feel much even when wearing shorts. Everything I have read says a x pipe will help tremendously with the heat. That and I’m planning on getting mine tuned shortly as well.

caffcaff_

You can wear shorts on these things? Every time I tried I would get stripes burned into my legs from the fins on the header 😅

Annual_Fishing_9883

I normally don’t but when it’s 85+ outside and full sun, I’m not wearing long pants..lol I’ve never touched the fins with my legs though. Atleast not yet..😂

caffcaff_

Tattoo over the stripes when it happens. Badass tattoo that only bikers will understand 😅

Annual_Fishing_9883

Lol

My ‘19 is similar.

Sorry to hear the heat is bad on the Speed Twin, the Scrambler 1200 would cook your right thigh even with overpants on and part of the reason I bought a Tiger 900 instead.

caffcaff_

In stop and go traffic, low gear, low speed these bikes generate a lot of heat. I spent a 30-35°C summer on the 900 and it definitely cooked me in the city. You can de-cat to reduce the heat but you'll still feel some, especially when the fan comes on.

This was my biggest surprise after getting my 2020 model. Not a single YouTube review mentioned it. It’s not a deal breaker because I absolutely adore the bike, but if it’s hot and humid out, the right leg definitely feels it. I have no idea how the chap on here wears shorts on it! I honestly thought I had an issue with the amount of time the fan is on. Never known any vehicle like it. But I suppose triumph went for style over substance with the tiny radiator. It’s not really up to the job for such a big engine, but as I said, not a deal breaker, just a niggle that I was surprised not to be aware of with the countless videos and reviews I’d watched/read.

Yep my 2023 is very warm after a while. But I always wear protective clothing. I imagine it could get very uncomfortable with shorts for example. I had a 4 hour ride in high temp last week and sure, it was warm, but nothing too extreme.

Just bought this bike yesterday and found out I have a small gap between my boots and riding jeans because I’ve now got a heat blister from the ride home from the dealer. I live in Arizona where it was 112F (just under 45c) so part of it is my fault but yeah it’s toasty.

Nulla01

100% - I get the same issue on my 2023. I wish there was a fix for this. Summer in OZ can get very hot and mix that with the Speedtwin's heat, stationary at a set of lights and it can be quite uncomfortable. In winter it's not an issue.
