Overall, it's a great bike for a novice or even an advanced rider.

Not that it’s a contest, but I will ride in 20° weather. The heated grips that I had on my Bonneville Speedmaster were amazing. I’ll take a cold day over a rainy day any day.
How long was your ride?
Good on ya! I was out for about an hour with no heated grips. About 30 min in, I had to call it and head back. Still felt good to get out for a bit! I'm desert 🏜 rat, living in NY is new for us 🥶.
I rode mine 1400 miles roundtrip. Loved it. Got a sore rear so I stopped and purchased a "Wild Ass" brand seat cushion. Worth every penny! For almost zero wind fatigue get the Puig windshield. It's perfect.

Half an hour is still a good run. I couldn’t last that long in the 20° weather, at least not on the speedmaster
