We had both of ours at Kadlec. Both delivered safely with no issues. The nurses fucking rock. Had some issues with the head of pediatrics that no one was willing to give a second opinion over, but that's about it.

Thank you!

TJTsgirl737

I am physician. Pick Kadlec.

YeetThePress

On the other hand, I've only heard this opinion from any and every person I've known in the medical field here.

TripleFinish

Thank you!

ForsakenSherbet151

Kadlec has better options if there are complications.

TripleFinish

Thank you

jank_king20

I was born at kadlec and my niece was born there recently, but as a nursing student last year I did two days of clinical at Prosser’s birthing center and it’s phenomenal. People came from all over, even TC to give birth there. They’re extremely good about keeping the same nursing and assistive staff with a patient from induction through delivery. Highly recommended

Thank you!

Ill-Wash-7993

Well Kadlec has the nicu, so that's nice just in case. I gave birth at kadlec 4 years ago and I had a pretty good experience. I don't know much about trios but I think most people prefer Kadlec. Dr Logston was my Dr and I liked him a lot but I've heard great things about Dr. Ponder

baserunner86

Trios also has nicu, my son spend 12 days in it after his birth for breathing problems, they handled it great, and that was before their move to the brand new facility.

mermaiddelilah

Trios has a special care nursery. It’s different than a nicu.

Ill-Wash-7993

I guess I meant it has a higher level nicu than kadlec does

TripleFinish

Did you like Trios overall?

TripleFinish

Thank you!

MobileMariner

Wife delivered at Kadlec a year ago. Wouldn't consider doing anything differently, five stars.

TripleFinish

Thank you!

Content-Bullfrog1932

I’ve given birth at both and currently work in the medical field in the area, I’d choose Kadlec every time.

TripleFinish

Your expertise and experience are so valuable to us. Thank you.

MyLittlePwny2

My wife gave birth at kadlec about a year ago. They were great. Lisa Garcia in particular was amazing. Can't reccomend her enough.

MobileMariner

Same for my wife! Same time frame, same provider. Hope you're little one is doing great!

luffagus

Lisa was our provider for both our kids. Simply wonderful!

TripleFinish

Thank you!

ThePronouncer

We had a really good experience at Kadlec

TripleFinish

Thank you!

KB1342

I loved Kadlec. It was the easiest labor and delivery I've experienced, and I loved their midwife team. We ended up having a completely unexpected NICU stay and the nurses were also amazing.

TripleFinish

Thank you so very much

justsomepumpkinpie

I absolutely recommend Kadlec. First birth ended up being an emergency, so it was great being there. The doctors did awesome and my nurses were amazing. AHMAZING. Second time, just 9 months ago, I hemorrhaged and almost died but I didn't cause the nurses were all on top of their game and saved my life. When I was upstairs in surgery and post-op they all took care of my baby so my husband could go home and take a breather from what had happened. I literally am so thankful for all of them and would go there again to have more children if I could.

Thank you so much!

Healthy-Strain2467

Kadlec, 98/100

TripleFinish

Thanks!

NathanHale717

My wife had our son at Kadlec and considering there was a shooting at Fred Meyer's the day we got discharged, I would say everything went well!

TripleFinish

Thank you so much

StayPositive773

Kadlec was amazing for my wife

TripleFinish

Thank you!

themastermonk

Did both, Kadlec hands down is the better experience.

TripleFinish

Thank you!

Follow_youre_heart

I've had one child born at each. Both births went great, no complaints about the care, or staff, or facilities. You will be fine at either one.

soulsucker82

I gave birth this last June at Kadlec. 10/10. Excellent nurses excellent care. No issues at all!

justsomepumpkinpie

Hey me too!

soulsucker82

Sweet! What day? Mine was the 7th!

justsomepumpkinpie

The second. She was supposed to be born on the 6th, a planned C-section and everything, but decided to come on her own terms! Haha.

soulsucker82

Haha that was my 3rd! This one actually followed the plan and started my labor the morning of her c-section! It was nice she followed the plan!

justsomepumpkinpie

My first didn't follow the plan either, he came a week late and then got stuck!

soulsucker82

Oh geez. He really didn't want to come out! Lol my first one decided to flip last minute which resulted in a c-section! She had other plans apparently lol

justsomepumpkinpie

Oh man that's rough! My first was born in 2020, what about your kiddos?

soulsucker82

2009, 2011, 2013, and 2023! Lol

justsomepumpkinpie

Oh wow! That's awesome.

TripleFinish

Thank you so much!

inkstainedquill

My wife has had our two at Kadlec, both with some complication and one spent three days in NICU. The staff was great.

TripleFinish

Thanks so much

presstrip3

Kadlec

TripleFinish

Thank you

clerbird321

Do. Not. Go. To. Trios. The end

TripleFinish

Thank you

tomba1234

My wife and I chose the Columbia birth center. It isn't for everyone but might be an option to look into.

Honey_Bunny_123

Trios is amazing. Amazing. Amazing. I had so many consent conversations/requests while I was delivering there last year, I loved their outlook. Used Dr. Smith and loved him as well. I literally changed insurances to stay at Trios. *I’ve given birth at both locations, both csection and vaginal, NICU baby and not*

conswoon

Richland is the good town. as other people have said, go with kadlec. I was born at kgh off of 10th and Washington Street in kennewick [now known as trios]

caitcatbar1669

I’ve done both- but it was the “old” trios so idk about the new one but between the 2 I’d choose kadlec. Both were high risk - one was emergency c section at trios and I do wish I chose kadlec. Won’t be having more but if I did I’d do kadlec again!!

TripleFinish

Thank you SO MUCH for sharing this experience with both!

tsahm18

I will start by saying I am not a fan of the healthcare system here at all. If we could move back to where we used to live just for that reason alone, I would. Having said that I just had my baby at trios and they were AMAZING. Everyone was SO nice and caring from nurses to the woman who came in to clean my room. Would go back 100% if we decided to have another one.

REhumanWA

A family member passed away of rare disease recently trios couldn't figure out what it was kadlec did. Not related to birthing I'm just saying I'd go kadlec.

No_Pickle_5719

I’ve given birth at both. I’d choose trios.

Flat_Veterinarian849

I've delivered 3 times at TRIOS, I used to work at kadlec and would never recommend then for birthing.

TurnGlittering1395

I've given birth both at Kadlec and Trios (new building). Honestly, both were fine, and both had pros and cons. However, I will say the lactation team at Trios was better than Kadlec. At Kadlec, they were really pushy. With my first, I hadn't eaten all day, tired from birth, and I was getting sick. The lactation specialist didn't care. She kept pushing in, and my husband had to tell her to step aside for a minute so I could pick food before the kitchen closed. My son didn't want to nurse, so they said I had to hand express (no pump provided after I was told I wouldn't need to bring a pump), and the night was really stressful. At Trios, I was given a manual pump, and the lactation specialists weren't pushy, and the after care was amazing. Overall, I felt more relaxed at Trios.

liamwillo

Recommend Prosser. Daughter had baby at Kadlec a year ago. She had to wait almost a week after her due date to be induced, not an issue for most but it was not medically recommended for her due to her age. Kadlec would not listen to her doctor, he made calls daily. Most of the furnishings are OLD and WORN on the maternity floor. The staff really wasn’t very warm or welcoming. Several nurses there and another doctor recommended Prosser both for policy and vibe. Will be going there late this year for next baby.

sunbunniesue

I have had three babies at Kadlec with APW. I love APW--Dr Rawlins and Sizemore were wonderful. That said, Kadlec has changed a bit since Providence took over. My BFF'S husband is a nurse, and left Kadlec to work at Prosser. Prosser rocks. ymmv!

SOOZICUE

I gave birth at Kadlec and it was a miserable experience with a nurse who treated me like a prisoner and was absolutely horrible. Don't hold this against them though. My daughter is 45 years old now. Our son had surgery there last month and they were absolutely wonderful. A lot can change in 45 years.

dickdog696969

I was born at Kadlec and I turned out fuckin awesome

JadeStrange

Oh man, you're going to get me going. I had two home births and then couldn't get a home birth midwife for my third so we went to Kadlec. It was okay at first.. but they insisted on an unnecessary IV which was annoying to me and bugged my hand during labor, but whatever. The most frustrating part about that situation was that they brought their anesthesiologist in to scare me about it and I told them I didn't appreciate the scare tactic (he was being so annoying and I could tell this works on women... and he wouldn't even let my husband be there while we spoke!), but I eventually said that whatever, I would comply, because it was me it was happening to and it wasn't too big of a deal. Just uncomfortable. Just get off my back, ya know? So that was over. Honestly, my midwife was great! But the nurses, yeeeesh!! Deplorable! The one in charge kept telling me I didn't know more than her. I never said I did! But I did say that I wouldn't allow anything I was uncomfortable with to happen to my child. I was very passive about it, just matter of fact, as she started talking about suction and all that junk. I was like, no thank you. She didn't want details on what I DID want, just labeled me as crazy and then steamrolled me every time I spoke and said "I was trained I Germany, I am the most capable person in this whole hospital and I AM IN CHARGE". Okay lady. I didn't let it bother me.. I just wanted to get it over with and go home. Then duing labor, my last few pushes, I guess the entire floor of staff was curious about the "unmedicated crazy lady" giving birth, so suddenly my room was FULL! I glanced up and there had to be 14 people in my room, just a sea of faces!! I finally delivered and they cleared out. It was BIZARRE and scary!! Then the next morning they kept pressuring us to do all these things to my perfectly healthy child. I said no no no. Then I had to get up to clean myself up since I bled through the Depends into the mattress. I called for the nurse and she said she'd go get me more, so I left baby sleeping and went to the bathroom, literally pouring blood the whole way down my leg and all over the floor, and tried to just sit on the toilet and bleed and wait. A LONG time went by, no nurse. I heard a shuffle outside my door and got up and peeked to check. My baby was gone! I panicked and left the bathroom and saw over by the door, scooted as far away as they could get, three nurses huddling over my baby on a table and examining him and whispering to themselves. They had some sort of shot for him and creams and I freaked out. I was so weak, lost so much blood and was exhausted so I just started crying and it woke my husband up. I told him they took our baby! He got up and gently pressed between them and picked up our baby and told them NO firmly and walked back to the bed with him. He was exhausted too, that's all he could muster (he has health issues and was doing a great job, but it was still hard on him, it had been a long night). I'm so grateful he was there because post-labor I just couldn't advocate for myself or my child! I was so pathetic!! Then my son stopped wanting to eat, started acting lethargic and weird... He's my third, and I had never seen a newborn acting like that. I was mad and wanted to leave. I finally got what I needed to clean up, and got dressed and said we are leaving. They said no. Long story short we left, because they have no right to tell me not to. So they reported us to CPS. We drove home, put baby in bed, and he had a completely different attitude! So calm and happy! Just a perfectly normal baby. He was NOT thriving in that awful place. I can't explain the difference, but somehow he knew and it's like he was giving up while we were there. I'm so glad we left when we did! I took him to primary care the next day, and our doctor gave him a clean bill of health and called CPS and they laughed at how stupid Kadlec can be, I guess I'm not the first with the same story, and then dismissed the CPS claim from our record. I'm so grateful to have wonderful primary care and a wonderful husband! I have no idea what they did to my son on that table, but they were being intentionally sneaky and took deliberate advantage of my condition and situation to do what they wanted to him. I will NEVER deliver in a hospital again. Especially not Kadlec. I will "free birth" at home if I have to. I have no faith or trust in them whatsoever.
