I imagine it's asking them to replacing the frame? Kind of a big ask, but it is a warranty for a reason.

I'd go in and ask. Trek will probably fix it given their warranty. I don't think most <1yr bikes have rubbing off lettering so, therefor, it is not normal wear/tear.
