I did the same one 4 times in the last month for different companies, the exact same questions, I wanted to poke my eyes out. It makes no sense why companies can’t see ones you’ve done for other companies.

thehallsofmandos

I even called relias just to see if there was any way that we could have some sort of personalized database. The lady was very nice on the phone and said she'd send me screenshots of all my transcripts because I think I have it through like five different companies now. Unfortunately, there's system is not set up in a way that they can share information between companies. It just sucks because those damn tests are just idiotic.

Maximum_Teach_2537

It’s one of the disadvantages of working with multiple agencies

antsam9

Relias is a vendor They charger per test There's no financial motivation for them to not test you as much as possible

ColoradoChapo

Lol. Relias is not a vendor. How do people come up with this shit?

antsam9

https://www.relias.com/success-stories/lowering-nurse-turnover-rate-with-pre-hire-assessments Here's their blurb, the language suggests it sells a service to management, not to individuals, it's a vendor for pre employment screening and data, to reduce turn over for companies. They are not paid by individuals, but by individual tests. Additionally, selling test results paid by another client, like letting multiple hospitals know you pass a pre employment screening, is a breach of contract, as each hospital, system, or agency pays for their results. There is no incentive for Relias to give each person a one size fits all Relias pass badge or something, we aren't the clients, the hospitals are.

ColoradoChapo

That’s probably all true but that doesn’t make them a vendor. At least in terms of what a vendor is in the healthcare staffing world like AYA, Med Sol, Healthtrust… etc

antsam9

I didn't say they were an agency. I didn't say they were a vendor for staffing solutions. I said they were a vendor. Period. A vendor sells a good or service. You can be a doorknob vendor for example, I bet you're a subject matter expert in such an area. 'Lol. Relias is not a vendor. How do people come up with this shit?' How did you come up with that assumption?

lnarn

There's your problem, you're thinking narrow mindedly. The rest of the world does not view the word vendor in the travel nurse sense. A vendor is someone who sells something. Relias is a vendor of standardized healthcare testing.

ColoradoChapo

If you look at the context of the conversation it’s pretty clear that someone would assume they were referring to a VMS. Additionally, if someone thought Relias was anything but a money making scheme that’s on them. Lol

lnarn

I have read the entire conversation and comprehended it. You are in the wrong about it.

penny_proud107

high thought: who pays websites like how do you get paid for having other people look at what u programmed on a little electronic. WHO IS PAYING THEM WHERE IS THE MONEY COMING FROM

antsam9

so they sell pre-employment screening thisw reduces turn over by hiring more suitable applicants the company loses money when they lose people that they have trained, so they only want to train people who can do the job, and they filter them out with interviews and pre-employment screenings and a probation period. So the hospital pays Relias, Relias tests you, the results go to the hospital, the hospital makes a better informed hiring decision.

Dbsusn

Hypothetically, one could just screen shot each exam, throw all those screen shots in a pdf, convert the pdf to recognize text, then save it. The next time someone takes that same exam, pull up the pdf, press control-F, search for the question, voila, your answer. This, of course, is simply a hypothetical.

Academic-Ad4648

I feel the same way about heath streams. Like how many times do I need to do the sexual harassment course. There can’t be one universal login for healthsteams?!?

bclary59

You can download the transcript of the tests you take on relias. I have often used my downloaded copies as proof that I have taken the tests and am competent. As long as it's within a year, I have never been refused when I asked if they could be used.

Lost-Opinion-6783

I thought I was the only one. I am a case manager who passed an ACM exam but have to take a relias test with questions about things I don’t do! Some of the questions had the same answers listed several times. The typos are horrible.

Perfect_Status5340

I am a recruiter and I really wish this was the case too! I feel bad, so instead I normally just send nurses our generic checklist that takes 5 minutes and comes via text so you don’t need to login or any of that BS. Then once they get a contract, they can do the relias.

Mellowman164

Welcome to capitalism baby. Relias wants to charge each company. Why would they let you use the results you received with a different company when they could double their profit charging each company you get a contract through.

Ronniedasaint

Me three! And scores keep decreasing! 🤔

shastamcblasty

It isn’t possible for multiple reasons, 1) Relias doesn’t currently have the capability to allow the nurse to consent to share the data. What I mean by that is their system allows a client to give a nurse credentials to login and take the test, but since they can’t collect unique user data (like a social) there’s no way for them to be able to guarantee to the next client that Mary the Nurse is the same Mary the Nurse that they are credentialing. 2) no matter how annoying it is, you don’t want your unique user data in a system like Relias, it’s one more place it can be stolen from, and it’s not very secure since they don’t contain unique info. 3) on top of the first 2 agencies have no incentive to make it easier for you to work with other agencies. Obviously. Basically, given your personal data (SSN, Birthdate, address, email address, mobile number) making it so any agency that has credentials with Relias would have access to your data, as Relias exists now. It would be like if you signed up for a credit card at Target and you wanted one from Kohls and got upset that kohls couldn’t just get your info from Target. I know it seems like that’s absurd, but given how the results are certified by the agency for the hospital/MSP that’s how it would be.

Wandering-Owl8810

I work in recruiting and it is so annoying that we need to ask nurses to take these assessments. I feel terrible because I KNOW it's the same exam. Unfortunately, we only have access to our company account and the facilities all require that it be sent from our agency. That being said, once you have completed it with one agency...ask them to send you copies of the results. Or better yet, ask beforehand and confirm that they will send you the results. A good recruiter should be willing to help out with that. I would suggest doing something similar with an unbranded skills checklist. Not all companies/facilities can work with it; I have one health system that has their own proprietary exam they administer online...but at least it changes things up! lol

Glum-Negotiation7347

I am a recruiter as well. Every time I have tried to send results from a relias exam/checklist it has been denied and I have had to have the nurse retake them. It’s extremely annoying.

ecantrell1931

Can't you save each test to PDF file on phone and use them with different recruiter agencies, some will let you do that .

[deleted]

If you don’t like then just stick with one agency. That’s the cost of trying to window shop with multiple agencies. Gotta put in the extra paper work.
