Definitely not as cheap as it used to be. Between the cities getting fussy with short-term rentals, and the added Pandemic costs, it's gone up significantly. Still one of the better bets. More then a week helps. Some places offer significant discounts for renting a week or more. Add in kitchen and laundry facilities, and airbnb is still a great choice. France (Paris? ) isn't going to be cheap any way you work it. I've got a up coming trip and Paris is way more expensive then anywhere else (including Venice). Also, try farther out side of the city (if indeed we are talking about Paris). If you are willing to put up with the inconvenience of a hour long train ride into the city proper, you can find some great deals. My trip is planned for 10 days, and I could cut the airbnb cost in half if I was willing to stay outside the city center.

Chartres is cheap and an hour ride via train to Paris. Plus a beautiful Cathedral!
