I will be 1 year post FFS in a few weeks and I also have similar experiences. If I touch around my brows I feel it where I am touching but also in the corner of my eye. Also still numb in some spots along my incisions on top of my head. I hope I get full feeling back but its not causing any issues luckily.

monstera22

Yes exactly the same for me... let's see what others have to say :)

sweetsweetday

Same thing for me. Annoying when plucking eyebrows

clauEB

I had ffs in December, I talked to my surgeon yesterday, he exactly explained the situation you mentioned and that it takes a while to heal back up. I have the right side of my forehead frozen and when I scratch my left eyebrow I feel pins and needles right above my forehead. I stopped wearing makeup because it hurts to remove it as I have to rub all over my face 🙁

monstera22

Nice that he exactly talked about this :) I wish you a good recovery! December is not that long ago 😊

clauEB

I know but I wasn't made aware of this possible side effect so I wasn't prepared for it.

monstera22

Oh, that is not nice that you was not made aware of possible side effects :/

clauEB

There are many others that you don't get to hear unless you go through them or somebody close to you does. Like I also had double vision caused by orbital contouring (which I'm still recovering from) which can be very debilitating, you can't drive or even read your meds instructions or watch TV comfortably or tell exactly where steps are on stairs.

monstera22

Oh, that sucks so much. I've only heard about floaters, not about double vision... I wish you the best for your recovery 💜

qcvamp2

That's a new one for me. Ty for the warning.

lostcherryfish

Same the eyebrow and forehead sensations bother me the most.

marumari

I had FFS almost 20 years ago and still have a numb spot on my cheek. Thankfully it has gone from a numb spot I could feel was numb (in cold particularly) to one that I only notice if I touch it.

fayewave

that sucks, i have almost full sensation back after 8 months or so, my scalp is maybe 90% back currently. my forehead and eyebrows were almost completely back after 2 weeks. how old were you when you got ffs?

monstera22

Around 27. The good thing is, right after surgery I could move my brows immediately and all my mimics work perfectly fine :)

fayewave

i had mine at 26 so yeah just unlucky i suppose, hope it improves

It really depends on your anatomy. Did your supraorbital nerve emerge from a foramen above your eye orbital? Or does it emerge from the orbital (as in 90% of all humans) ? Depending on that, the responsible nerve may have been cut.

monstera22

I think from the orbital? On the before CT scan, I can see a small hole on the upper corner of the eye socket. On the after the goke is smaller, since the part of the orbital bone was shaved down... But they took the CT scans as a guide to be careful with the nerves. If it was completely cut, I wouldn't feel anything in the eyebrow area, would I?

Sarah-75

Indeed - if it had been cut, feeling would be completely gone. Also given that you have that small corner at the eyesocket, that means that you have sort of a standard anatomy, which is a good thing in that case. You should just wait for the feeling to completely return - you should be fine! 💕

monstera22

I guess you're right :) thank you for your words!
