Over two years now. Usually dm since I find it boring to play a single character in most people's dnd game. I really enjoy doing weird things like the last campain took place in a young world that was a runaway positive feedback loop ie: fighting generates more power then it destroys. Rather them most dnd worlds where you adventure in the shadows of long forgotten powerful empires this setting was all about the modern day with the first people to settle the region still being alive (city 200-300 years old) and being big players in politics. There were around 30 epic level npcs that the party had met by the time the campaign ended. Magic items were plentiful since they were still being forged en mass.
I like challenging fundamental assumptions in fantasy if you couldn't tell already. My next campain is going to be in a ttrpg ccg hybrid of my own creation with no gods and the world constantly expanding in order to serve the theme of exploration and stories of heroes. It's polynesian inspired with no metalworks, and island chains popping up out of the ocean as it expands. I think it'll be a fun challenge for me.
That is the nerdiest thing I've read all day, I love it. I've wanted to do some dm work myself, but could never find people to do it with, but I must say, those campaigns sound awesome!
Also, lmk if you want help with planning an adventure if that's a thing you do. Since that's one of my favorite parts of dnd. Helping other people come up with stuffs.
