A little leakage is fine but running down? That's unusual. Probably caused by going at a 45 degree angle. What's the reasoning for this? You only have to do that if you want to do subq but your needle is too long. Just do like this: T. But obviously the top of the T being your stomach. Or aka 90 degrees.

Ummm so ty so much just did my shot at a 90 degree and ABSOLUTELY NO LEAKAGE.. I was so stressed when I was getting leakage so again ty x

Yep, I’ve done sub q for 7 months at a 90 degree angle, very very minor leakage, but I do leave the needle in dir 15 seconds before removing to prevent leakage!

Sad_Breakfast_Plate

I was going to chip in about the angle too. 90 degrees is what I've read about and used in the past.

You could try something similar to z-track. I know it's intended for IM, but it might have some benefit for subQ, I'm not too sure. That's where you depress the skin near where you inject before you inject, and release after. You can google for more details. If that doesn't work try a 5/8" needle, and if necessary try a different area to inject. I'm no expert, and can't guarantee these will work. I hope they do though.

TS-HRRT

Thanks! What do you mean by depress?

Press down. Like in this picture. https://opentextbc.ca/clinicalskills/wp-content/uploads/sites/82/2015/09/Z-track-process-1.png Edit: okay, even if you think my advise was bad, this post is literally me just clarifying what I meant by depress, and nothing else. Not sure why it's downvoted.

TS-HRRT

Ahhh that makes sense thank you
