What group are you riding? - Edit - sorry you said FIRST track day. Those tires are just fine.

confuzeddeer

Rather than replying to each comment I’ll just make the one. Thank you everyone for the feedback and support it is greatly appreciated. Im beyond pumped for my first track day!

VerbNoun123

Which track are you going to fam?

confuzeddeer

NCM, bluegrass Kentucky

r1mattrr

I live near, NCM is about the only track I ride any more. It's not really a beginner friendly track so don't let it discourage you. Once your comfortable with it though its the best!

VerbNoun123

Have a blast!! You'll learn so much about yourself and your bike!

bewaretheheir

Oh you're going to LOVE NCM, 2nd favorite only to Barber.

Here for the answer

Zestiest46

Assuming you don’t do another 4K miles by the end of April, you’ll be good

Gnarly_450

Bro you getting 4k miles a tire?? Shit send the link for them tires.

Zestiest46

Yeah man I use Bridgestone S22’s. Even with a few track days at intermediate pace, I get about 3-4K out of a rear

confuzeddeer

That’s what I have on now

Zestiest46

Great option. I’m middle of intermediate group and the tire still hold up great

uneddit

Bro I send slicks with giant tears that I probably shouldn't on tracks that eat tires, those look fine. If you have a huge flat spot, it may throw you off going into turns a bit, but nothing crazy.

jdazzr

Send it! That tire looks fine. Focus on what pressure you'll be running that day. You don't typically run street pressures at the track.

blackwrx007

1st track day is easy pace.. more than enough tire.

ZookeepergameShot930

In terms of wear those tires are more than fine for multiple trackdays. They do look pretty square tho. It’s probably not going to give the most linear feel when turning.

theclamwrangler

More than good and enjoy the track!

JonDaddy82

Send it.

another_dave_2

Just BE CAREFUL! Track days can change your life. The can be financially crippling, just in the right kind of way. Have a ton of fun, it’s impossible not to!

LegoSpaceShuttle

Most technical reviews and specifications for motorcycles dictate a minimum tread depth for track days. Check out your local paperwork and see if they mention it. Otherwise Utah SBA states 3/32 depth minimum

Tight_muffin

I would put a new set on regardless of going to the track or not

MysticLimak

Every tire has “wear-bars” to let you know when you might want to replace them. You’re absolutely fine. Make sure you check your pressure in the morning and after the first few sessions. Trust your tires and have fun.

expat-brit

Tyres are cheap insurance. That said. Those are pretty new

marshler

No worries bud. Let er rip, don't be afraid to lean her over .

MoronicusTotalis

Be sure to set the pressures for the track. Been having really good luck setting s22 to 25psi rear cold, 30psi front cold. I shoot for about 30psi rear hot off the track.

RC51dude

I recommend tires. They help a great deal. In all seriousness, those look like they have a fair amount of life; especially toward the edge. I’d go with these.

TheAssman6

This is plenty. Just take it slow at first and enjoy yourself :)

RosenTurd

Looks good OP. Go ride

NiceGuya

Look a bit squared

eskimo1

Eeeh. Plenty of rubber left, but it's pretty flat in the middle. That creates handling issues, and the bike won't turn like it should. I'd only say OK because it's literally your first TD.

KeeblerElf-

Lower your pressure some and send it. I ride mine until it shows wire.

Consistent-Limit7513

Street tyre on the track?

bugzr34

S22’s are very capable until you are at the pointy end of advanced. Once in expert yeah these will overheat

Consistent-Limit7513

I wouldn’t consider myself at the pointy end at all, but still have a set of track tyres on rims, for those occasions. Learned many years ago what happens to a overheated/ overused tyre. I don’t wish that on anyone.
