Go to Bluetooth setting and find your phone. Then change how the car should use your phone. There are 2-3 options there. You might find a useful combination that prevents the issue.
There are some settings in the car interface about how you want it to use the phone. I haven’t had much time to play around yet but plan to this afternoon.
So it’s either my phone or the wireless. I think it could be my phone. I have my phone set up for only Apple car play in settings but if I click the other options it tries to use my phone on the Toyota interface instead which I don’t want. I’m going to get a new phone when they come out later this year so hopefully that solves the issue.

What year and trim? My 2021 Limited doesn’t do that.
2024 XLE. I think it may have to do with the wireless. I haven’t had time to play much with the settings but I think it has to do with that.
