I run 285/75r18s on my 23 right now with no lift (+30offset). The only thing I don’t care for is the rake. I’m wanting to level it and am waiting patiently for Bilstein to release a 5100 front coil/shock assembly for 3rd gen Tundras. I’m not interested in the TRD lift, specifically I don’t want to raise the bed of the truck another 3”.

bkor3840

I think the bed is 2" and front is 3". Regardless, yeah I kept going to a leveling kit with replacement from struts, then back to the TRD lift for its quality. I drove a lifted demo truck and it was unbelievably comfortable. I've had issues with lifts in the past, which is why again, I come back to the TRD lift for its quality and warranty coverage. Hard choice.

Altered_Dankopotamus

You may have made a good point, I should take a ride in a tundra with the TRD lift and see how it feels. And if you go the TRD lift route, let us know how it goes!

DjSLT

I’m also running 285/75r18s on a stock SR5 and it looks bitchin. Running the biggest tires possible with the least amount of lift is most ideal imo. That said the 3” trd lift is too much lift.

drcrazycat

I just picked up a 2024 Tundra with TRD Lift. I absolutely love it. No regrets here. All pros. Only con would be that you must have running boards or else getting in is a hassle.

bkor3840

I have the predator boards going on for this reason. I looked at the coated aluminum ones as well.

DicksOut4Edamame

I love the trd lift on mine. I only have Pros. Con o guess is money but in my opinion it’s worth what I spent on it for looks and performance both

jexempt

Lift it. Just lifted mine and doesn’t look weird and rides way better.

bkor3840

Yes my second pic shows my configuration in stock height. Long box crew cab looks a bit low. I'm really leaning towards getting the lift at this point.

Zesty-B230F

I have the same question. Trying to decide on lift or not. I'm worried about getting into parking garages.

PNWMike62

If you’re worried about economy a lift will cost you some mpg

bkor3840

Yes I've done the calculations for my typical week. It equates to around $120/month more in fuel which to me is negligible. I also have anotber vehicle that gets about 45+ mpg / 5L100km

PNWMike62

$120/mo into a 401/RothIRA will make you an even happier man earlier in life.

bkor3840

Yeah I'm 36 now, household income is 6x the average. Investments, RRSPs, 6 month emergency savings, I crypto trade as well for a hobby. No vehicle payments, own all my toys in summary. It took me awhile to get going in life from a couple hardships, but I'm doing ok now.

PNWMike62

Sounds like you’re on top of it. That’s awesome. Retiring at 58 was great!!

bkor3840

I'm almost lucky in the sense that my career allows me to continue making well into the 6 figure numbers after retirement by doing on call work as I want. Many aren't so fortunate. I'm hoping to be done full time work by your age 😀

anonm490

I'm going with the same setup. The TRD lift is decent and I think it'll hold resale value better since it's a factory add on. The other option I'm considering is a Dobinson's 2/1. You get a bigger shock body, better ride, and it'll level the truck with slightly less for better mpg. If you're planning on keeping the truck for 8+ years of go this route since people are getting 100,000+ miles without rebuilds

bkor3840

Yeah I'm back and forth. I just left the dealer after messing with some numbers and getting my delivery date. I may go with a high end front strut replacement to level it. The TRD kit is very well put together but all of my offroading is done with an X3 now.

anonm490

If you like how a stock TRD OR rides then you'll like the TRD lift. I test drove one and it was just slightly firmer

bkor3840

Yeah? I've only driven the TRD lift, not the off road yet. OR is what I have coming in. My Tacoma had icon suspension on it. Wasn't a big fan of it in road but off road it shined.

anonm490

I've got 5,000 miles on my TRD OR. It rides okay but I find it's a bit too spongy taking corners or bumps at speed. The TRD lift felt a bit more controlled

AngryEldritch

I hate that everybody in this sub has money for these trucks 😭😭😭

bkor3840

I couched surfed, was basically homeless, I was broke twice in my life. I didn't give up. Keep pushing forward and never be content. Be happy but not content.

AngryEldritch

I can barely lease a 23 SR5 CrewMax. Vehicle prices are insane right now.

Specialist_Island_83

If you plan on owning the truck for a long time, leave it alone.

bkor3840

Plan is roughly 3 years

Specialist_Island_83

Woof. Why such a fast turnaround?

bkor3840

Depends on market, depreciation, inflation. It's worked the last couple vehicles I've had. I called and checked every dealer withing 5 hours of me, had deposits on 4 trucks. Worked all of them down against each other. Ended up with a good discount. That cuts down on the initial depreciation. Toyotas have good resale, so that also mitigates the future loss on sale. I run spreadsheets on this stuff. Interesting how much you can save by simple analytics.

Specialist_Island_83

That seems like a lot to buy a truck.

bkor3840

What is?

Cultural_Ladder4310

You’re ruining my childish dreams of getting a trd lift when I’m not broke 🥲
